I went out to find a restaurant with a friend after lunchtime. When in doubt, you can always rely on a family restaurant! The closest one was Gusto. It had been a while since I last visited Gusto. I ordered the spicy oyster sauce yakisoba, crispy fried chicken, potato fries with mentaiko mayo, and a lemon sour with the juice of one whole lemon. The dishes were brought to us by a cat-shaped robot, which was fun to watch. The yakisoba, fried chicken, potato fries, and lemon sour were all delicious and perfect for drinking. The lemon sour was really sour and refreshing! It felt like a good deal to get the vitamin C from a whole lemon. The total bill came out to around 2000 yen per person. She chose pizza from the Lucky Set, but since she couldn't eat it all, I just ordered a beer using a coupon from the official app. I felt that the kid's menu, which consisted mostly of just one pizza, was a bit inconvenient. I ordered the seasonal menu item, shrimp meatballs and napa cabbage kimchi stew priced at 879 yen, and added a drink bar for 213 yen. The drink bar offers several types of tea leaves, such as black soybean tea and hibiscus tea, which were delicious. The stew came with a half-sized udon noodle, making it quite filling. It had a good level of spiciness, which increased my appetite. The shrimp meatballs were a bit of a letdown, as they had a processed texture and didn't taste much like shrimp. Using regular pork belly meat might have been a better choice. The soft-boiled egg added a nice touch, especially when mixed with the udon noodles. Overall, the meal was tasty, but I couldn't help but feel that prices at Gusto have gone up over 1000 yen, reflecting the changing times.

I had Sunday morning breakfast at the Gusto located on the 2nd floor of the landmark tower in Hamacho, called "Tornare Nihonbashi Hamacho". I ordered the "Toast & Boiled Egg Set (¥329)" from the various morning options available. This set includes all-you-can-drink from the drink bar and daily soup. It's a great deal! I enjoyed two servings of onion soup, carrot juice, and hot coffee one after another. The toast was thickly sliced and came with jam and butter. The boiled egg was a bit cold. Compared to the drinks, it felt like the food was just an extra. Recently, Gusto has increased the number of partitions in their restaurants, making it a very cozy space for solo diners. In fact, on this particular morning, more than half of the seats were occupied by solo diners.

I had a rich meat sauce spaghetti with lots of meat for 899 yen before tax, along with a salad, soup, and drink bar for 450 yen before tax. My junior colleague had carbonara. The dish was delicious with a tomato flavor similar to a sweet demiglace sauce, perfect for those who like it a bit sweet. The meat was plentiful and well-prepared. The portions were a bit too large, causing some to spill onto the plate. My colleague also found it to be above average in taste. It seems like Gusto is putting in effort! I would definitely like to come back again. It was a great meal!

For the soup bar, I had Korean-style egg soup, and at the drink bar, I drank vegetable juice and cappuccino, also enjoying some delicious water with no ice.

During my working days, I often relied on family restaurants for lunch. When I found out there was a Gusto at Torunare, I decided to go for lunch. The daily lunch specials were chicken and fried horse mackerel. You could get a free large serving of rice and access to the soup bar for 499 yen (excluding tax). The cost performance is excellent. The taste is consistent and good. However, after 12 o'clock, both the smoking and non-smoking sections quickly fill up. It was a strong choice for working adults, the family restaurant lunch.

I think it was the best thing I ate at Gusto! It had a cheese with truffle scent, and the taste was not like a typical chain restaurant.
