This restaurant located on the 5th floor of a building on Stars and Stripes Avenue is a hidden gem bar that also serves affordable set meals during the day. It is run by a renowned bartender and a former international flight attendant. Due to the pandemic, they hosted a Beaujolais Nouveau event after a 3-year hiatus. The participation fee was 7000 yen per person and the place was packed with other customers. However, this year, due to the impact from Ukraine, they didn't receive much Beaujolais Nouveau, so each person was only allocated half a bottle. Despite this, our table of 5 managed to enjoy three bottles. This year's Beaujolais was very sweet, almost like grape juice with high sugar content. The dishes included prosciutto with persimmon, soup, mackerel with daikon radish, and beef stew, continuing their tradition of home-cooked meals. After finishing the Beaujolais, they opened a Bordeaux red wine for us, which was satisfying. Beaujolais seems to be praised as the best every year, but this year's grapes were truly exceptional. Let's hope for the production of more good wines in the future.

Recently, it seems like there are fewer people celebrating the release of Beaujolais Nouveau. Personally, I'm not too concerned about the quality of the grapes as a Japanese person. Beaujolais Nouveau itself isn't that delicious either. However, once you start, you feel like you have to do it every year. So, once again, we gathered here this year. It's basically an annual festival drinking party. This year, we had all-you-can-drink Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau. This year's Nouveau seems easy to drink. However, after finishing 9 or 10 bottles, they said there's no more Beaujolais. Well, we were paying 6,000 yen each, so it's understandable. The food was the usual homemade-style Western cuisine. The former flight attendant mom serves it. Well, it was fun again this year. They also serve lunch here, so if you're in the neighborhood, definitely give it a try.

The Beaujolais Nouveau, which is said to be appreciated only by the Japanese, has arrived and I visited Bamboo once again. Beaujolais Nouveau is a tasting wine, and it is meaningless if you cannot taste it earlier than regular wine is finished. Therefore, Beaujolais for Nouveau is harvested, quickly brewed, bottled, and shipped in November of the same year. It is a red wine with a light finish, made from grapes (Gamay variety) harvested that year to check the quality. Among them, Villages can be called Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau as it is produced in a more limited region. On this day, thanks to the master's arrangement, Villages was all-you-can-drink. As always, Nouveau tastes like grape juice and lacks deep flavor, but this year's Beaujolais was quite delicious. It must be a good year. The dishes were chef's choice. Canapés, salad, fish, meat, and finally salt-grilled noodles, nothing particularly special. They seemed like dishes you could make at home, but they had a homely and heartwarming feel. There were 7 of us, and I feel like we emptied 5-6 bottles of Beaujolais. It cost 6,000 yen per person. The former flight attendant owner and a young, beautiful staff member were there, making it always a fun time.

The other day, I went to lunch with my colleagues from work! The restaurant was bustling and by the time I arrived, most of the seats were already taken!!! As soon as I entered the restaurant, the staff greeted me with enthusiasm!! I ordered the daily special dish made with chicken and it was absolutely delicious!! They offer free refills on rice, so it's recommended for men!! I don't usually eat in Nishi-Azabu, so it was a really refreshing experience! If you get the chance, please give it a try!!

Lunch is good no matter what you eat, but the chicken soboro bowl is recommended. I had the daily special hamburger, and it was soft and juicy, rivaling any steakhouse around.

I was designated to go to this restaurant for a year-end party with my colleagues. It was quite surprising. First of all, the location is on the 5th floor of a building near the entrance of the Roppongi Tunnel. The sign is small, so people who don't know about it probably wouldn't enter. Despite that, it has 4 reviews on Tabelog, which is impressive. Apparently, this used to be a bar I would occasionally go to when I lived in the company dorm nearby. The place was rented out for our party that day. We had all-you-can-drink whiskey with food included for around 5,000 yen. So, the dishes were all chef's choice. I forgot to take photos, but we were served salad first. Then, we had chicken sauté, beef stew, and Neapolitan pasta while gulping down whiskey highballs. The food was close to home cooking but quite delicious. The master and the mama-san, who used to be a flight attendant, ran the cozy and welcoming restaurant. It reminded me of my days as a flight attendant...

The perfect place for a lunch break if you have the "Demon's Disease" card, but I was a bit hungry, so it turned into a lunch. I had a budget of 500 yen, with 20 yen left over. The bar on the 5th floor of the building is also known for its lunch menu. They offer minced chicken rice bowls with options like adding a soft-boiled egg. The atmosphere is cozy with a counter and sofas to relax on. I ordered the minced chicken rice bowl with a soft-boiled egg, and it tasted just like something I could make at home. The noteworthy aspect is that it's in Roppongi and costs only one coin. The master, who was wearing a bow tie, seemed to have a deep knowledge of jazz, so jazz enthusiasts should definitely check it out. 3.31 (November 25, 2012)

This is a bar located on the 5th floor of a building just a short walk from Nogizaka Station, passing through Roppongi Tunnel and turning right onto Stars and Stripes Street. They recently started serving lunch, offering 5 different dishes: Special Soboro Don (minced meat bowl) for 450 yen, Warm Tamago (egg) Soboro Don for 480 yen, Grilled Salmon Plate for 680 yen, Pork Ginger Don for 720 yen, and Beef Steak Don for 980 yen. There was a magazine article recommending the Soboro Don by the comedy duo "Angerme" placed on the street. I chose the Warm Tamago Soboro Don, which came with miso soup and unlimited pickles for only 480 yen. The portion was surprisingly generous and satisfying. The restaurant is small, with a counter, sofa seats, and chair seats, creating a cozy atmosphere. The staff, one man and one woman, were friendly, and there were only a couple of regular customers besides me on that day. Overall, I found the place to have a great atmosphere and amazing value for money due to their lunch promotion.

On the fifth floor of a building on Stars and Stripes Street is a bar where you can enjoy set meals. This place is owned by the singer Yoshio Tabata, and the basement floor is home to the famous restaurant "Nishi-Azabu SIN". The interior is cozy with two six-person tables, one five-person sofa seat, and a counter with about three seats. The bar is run by two veteran bartenders, a man and a woman. They used to run a bar and a rice bowl restaurant separately, and their regular customers from those days also visit this place in Nishi-Azabu. There are two menus, one for drinks which includes whiskey, cocktails, and more, and another for food which has items like spaghetti Napolitan, somen noodles, and set meals. I had XYZ and finished with a warm noodle dish. I also felt like having a draft beer so I ordered one. The warm noodles were surprisingly delicious with a flavorful broth. I felt like having a second round and even considered renting out the place for a private party.

Located on Stars and Stripes Street, on the 5th floor of a mixed-use building, this bar has recently started offering affordable lunch options. You can get a minced chicken bowl with miso soup for ¥400. If you upgrade to a warm egg minced chicken bowl, it's ¥480. The dishes are homemade and surprisingly tasty for the price. They also serve a homemade sweet vinegar pickle side dish. The restaurant is quite small, with separate "smoking" and "non-smoking" tables, but smoke tends to fill the air when other customers smoke at their tables. If you can overlook that, it's a good lunch spot. The interior is well-lit, clean, and doesn't have the typical unhealthy atmosphere of a bar.
