Late-night indulgent parfait "PatissiereMAYO" At 9:00 p.m., in front of Tenso Shrine on Roppongi's Ryudocho Museum Street. Tenso Shrine is a power spot with the address Roppongi 7-7-7, where people believe that their wishes will come true. However, it is said that this shrine doesn't hesitate to use any means to grant wishes, so people who prayed for dieting here ended up experiencing unfortunate events like the restaurant they reserved being closed or dropping the ice cream they wanted to eat (laughs). While sharing such stories, after waiting for 15 minutes, we entered "PatissiereMAYO," a small shop that only serves freshly made desserts and alcohol with a counter for 8 seats. It is a referral-only time slot after 9:00 p.m., and we were invited by a regular customer to visit. The owner, Mayo Miyata, has worked as a patissier at famous places like Cuisine Michel Troisgros, L'arpege, and Hasegawa Minoru. As soon as we entered, she apologized for the wait. This day, many people ordered multiple parfaits, causing delays in the previous customer leaving. Although the seating is limited to 90 minutes, since each cake is made fresh, ordering multiple items may lead to exceeding the time limit. I wanted to try the parfait made with mango "Toki no Shizuku" produced by Minoru Hasegawa, but it was sold out, and it was also the last day. Instead, we ordered the melon parfait and cherry parfait, along with freshly baked mango shortcake and coffee. Mayo-san and I had met several times with Minoru Hasegawa, so she remembered me, and we chatted while watching the parfait being made in front of us. The parfait that came out was a combination of various fruits, creams, jellies, and jams that brought together the different shapes, sizes, and textures of cut fruits. For example, using rhubarb with melon. The cream was not too sweet and fluffy, harmonizing well with various acidic flavors. It was recommended to pair it with seasonal champagne cocktail (melon), and indeed, the bubbly drink matched perfectly with the parfait. Next, a shortcake was made in front of us. Sponge cake was cut in front of us, two types of sugar cream were whipped in front of us, fruits were cut, and they were layered together to create a simple white shortcake enveloped in whipped cream. Her sweets do not rely too much on the sweetness of sugar but bring out the sweetness and umami of fruits in a balanced way. By the way, she developed an egg and wheat allergy from making too many cakes. Nevertheless, she still has to taste various things, which seems tough. However, her continuous creation is driven by her passion for sweets. This shop will relocate on August 15, 2023, to the 3rd floor of the same building. The current location will reopen as "PatissiereMAYOflat" on August 12, 2023, with almost the same store layout. There, they will mainly sell seasonal flavor gelato (6-8 types) and baked goods. There is also a terrace-like area on the 3rd floor where you can enjoy the ice cream you purchased. I am looking forward to visiting this new shop as well. PatissiereMAYO is closed on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays, open from 6:00 p.m. to midnight, and operates by appointment only. PatissiereMAYOflat is open without reservations from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

With the help of my friends, I tried Mayo for the first time! They serve Champagne drinks, parfaits, financiers, and shortcakes all made right in front of you using seasonal fruits. It was my birthday celebration, and they even put a special message on the shortcake plate. I had the best time, thank you so much♡

The combination of shiso granita and grapes is outstanding! I am so happy to be able to eat this grape parfait, which has been powered up since last year. The best sweets made right in front of your eyes! I was so excited to visit after being invited by MAYO-san! I had the Peach Melba Parfait Florentine, fig jam, myoga jelly, peaches marinated in myoga syrup, vanilla ice cream, and plenty of fresh peaches in a parfait. The process of making it was beautiful. The balance of ingredients highlighted the natural goodness of peaches. The freshly made shortcake was amazing, with light and fluffy cream. The only downside was that it was hard to cut neatly, but it was so delicious I could have eaten many more. The freshly baked financiers were so fragrant and tasty. I love MAYO-san's sweets so much, I want to try all the items on the menu next time. The grape parfait, mango pudding, and Riole that my friends had also looked delicious! Located a 5-minute walk from Roppongi Station Exit 8. Peach Melba Parfait for 3,190 yen, freshly made shortcake for 1,650 yen, financiers for 1,100 yen, and hojicha ice cream for 990 yen. #RoppongiGourmet #SweetTooth #RoppongiSweets #PeachParfait #TokyoOLGourmet #NightCafe #SweetLover #MAYO #Sweetstagram #Roppongi #Instafood #Patisserie

Pastry chef Mayo Miyauchi (born in 1987) showcases her skills at this establishment. After honing her craft at renowned French restaurants such as Cuisine[s] Michel Troisgros in Shinjuku (which closed at the end of 2019) and L'Arpege de l'Amant in Ginza (rated 3.77), she ventured out on her own in March 2021. Operating as a dessert-only shop open only at night, the place has gained popularity, with reservations disappearing almost instantly upon opening. I managed to find an available slot through the online booking site OMAKASE and visited the shop. The interior has a cozy feel, resembling a hidden bar in Roppongi, with only 8 seats around an L-shaped counter surrounding the kitchen (the chairs are quite high). They also offer freshly baked financiers, thanks to a steam convection oven. The shop is run by two women. I ordered an iced coffee (660 yen), a fresh herb tea (1,320 yen), a cherry parfait (3,190 yen), and a freshly baked shortcake (1,650 yen). Here are my thoughts on the dishes I tried: Cherry Parfait (3.7): Made with cherries from Iwate, American cherries, and rhubarb, this fruit parfait is paired with chocolate mousse and other chocolate items. The pitted Iwate cherries, with their sweet and sour taste, complement the chocolate well. The crunchy texture of the rhubarb adds a nice touch as an accent. While I prefer the fruit parfait at my go-to French restaurant for its superior ingredients, this shop excels in the composition of the parfait. It felt more refined compared to the parfait I had at Shiseido Parlour in Ginza (rated 3.55). Freshly Baked Shortcake (2.0): This shortcake, made with peaches from Wakayama, lacked the distinctive features of an Ashet Desseur dessert. The amount of peach used was also minimal. The price of 1,650 yen for this small shortcake felt overpriced, especially when compared to the peach dessert I highly rate at Rapesca in Yamanashi (rated 3.61), where a whole peach is used for a parfait priced at 1,400 yen. The tea, although fresh, was also expensive at 1,320 yen for just one cup. The combination of the light cream and the subtle peach flavor felt too bland, resulting in a lackluster experience. In terms of shortcakes from Ashet Desseur, I prefer the "Milk" shortcake at Okashiya Ucchi in Kitasando (rated 3.91) more to this one.

I had been looking at reservation sites multiple times, thinking I would like to go but couldn't get a reservation due to its popularity. This time, I heard about the Isetan bread festival at Shinjuku Isetan and decided to visit. There were no long lines on weekdays, but it gets crowded on weekends. - Mango and Citrus Parfait: 3,850 yen - Jasmine Green Tea: 1,100 yen The mango used was from Miyazaki, which is a high-quality one. That's probably why it's priced so high. The rice cooked in milk, Riole, and coconut blancmange were gentle, and I love the acidity of the citrus fruits, so I enjoyed them all. The drinks are priced separately, even for non-alcoholic ones, which I find a bit expensive. But since Roppongi at night is out of my usual area and I couldn't get a reservation anyway, I was satisfied to be able to try it this time. I was wondering why they had parfaits at an "Isetan Bread" event, but it turns out they include croutons. Mayo-san was a friendly person.

The freshly made shortcake, created one after another on a rotating table in front of you, gives off a warm feeling similar to watching a mother make a homemade cake. The talkative yet kind May-san was wonderful. The strawberries are a specialty from Tottori. The Basque cheesecake made with Roquefort cheese is truly outstanding, utilizing the bold flavor of blue cheese. The combination of citrus and blue cheese was an interesting experience, bringing out the acidity. The mango parfait, produced by Toshimitsu Nagase, showcases a fruit-first approach. Breaking the mango sauce, resembling a sunny-side-up egg yolk on top, releases a fragrant mango sauce. Lastly, the tiramisu is a must-try. The mascarpone cheese is flavored with coffee, making it a delight for coffee and tiramisu lovers alike.

Shortly after opening, this popular shop already has a 2-month waiting list. The shortcake is delicate and needs to be eaten quickly before it collapses. The first photo might look like a strawberry daifuku parfait, but it actually contains rice, giving it a unique texture that transforms into a strawberry daifuku when mixed. The financier is available for takeout, but it's best enjoyed fresh out of the oven for its unique texture. The simple shortcake has a light and elegant whipped cream, and the inside is so soft that a knife glides through easily. The strawberries inside are so delicious that you'll want to eat them all in one go. I enjoyed it so much that I've already made a reservation for next time. Can't wait!

※Visited in December 2021. The current parfait may be different. A treat every two months. Reservation only, so booking is essential more than omakase. Each visit brings a sense of excitement, enjoying a delicious parfait while feeling a bit nervous. The freshly baked financiers, not listed, are exquisite so be sure to order them. I was tempted by the good smell when another customer ordered them on my first visit. Both eating in and taking out are excellent.========MENU========◆Seasonal Parfait (December 2021)Instagram ID: tam_gourmet_

I was invited by a regular customer to visit this place. I was surprised to learn that the owner, May, lives very close to the area! She makes desserts on the spot using seasonal fruits. Isn't it amazing to have a dessert made right in front of you? Not only delicious, but her creativity is also outstanding! Along with her wonderful conversation skills, you can enjoy a delightful time. Everyone is charmed by May, right? How about enjoying a slightly luxurious dessert and some drinks after a meal? The price range is for two drinks and a dessert.

I made a reservation two months in advance and finally visited this place. Even though it hasn't been open for a year yet, reservations are already difficult to get, with availability only three months in advance. The restaurant doesn't have a sign outside, so you have to know about it to go. It seems to be popular among reviewers, making reservations even more challenging. They have one-hour time slots for each group. Since it's a dessert place, even if you eat all the options, it only takes about an hour. As for the taste, it's delicious. The fruits they use are carefully selected, and the combinations are fantastic. Even the parfaits are not too sweet, more on the refreshing side. It's not just about creativity, but the overall quality is impressive. The owner is friendly and creates a lively atmosphere. I left satisfied.

I went to try Mayo's parfait. It was during the season of Nagano purple and Shine Muscat, with a shiso granita as an accent. This parfait made me realize how enjoyable it is to taste the marriage of ingredients as you eat through it.

Opening day. The shop has a nicer interior compared to the one in Sangenjaya. I was worried that running this style with one person would be impossible, but there was another part-time staff member. At the moment, they are dividing the operation into 4 seats per session and taking a 2-hour system. It still feels like they are just getting started, but it's already a super popular shop. The menu includes strawberry parfait, financier, and a shortcake in an ashette dessert style. The drinks, including alcohol, are well-stocked. I had the strawberry parfait on this day. The drink was Ali Shan Oolong tea. The strawberry parfait is roughly divided into strawberry almond at the bottom separated by white chocolate, and strawberry shortcake at the top. The bottom has Ruby Port jelly, almond panna cotta, and strawberries compoted with Ruby Port. On top of the white chocolate slab are sponge cake, custard, chantilly cream, strawberry sorbet, and slices of strawberries in each layer. The strawberries inside are Red Pearl and Saga i9. On top is white strawberry shaved ice. The strawberry sorbet on top was delicious when I had it at Hasegawa Minoru's place, and it was still delicious after a long time! I think it's the most delicious when I eat Miyata's sweets. Perhaps he likes strawberries.
