Sakunomi in Tsukishima. It's located down a street with Monja Maguro Honten, Chikado, and Noto Honten. I saw a lantern outside so I decided to go in. The counter is standing-only, but they also have pipe chairs. It's a clean and nice-looking place. The staff said I could sit down but I prefer standing in life, so I stayed standing. There was only one other group of customers. On Fridays, there's a happy hour until 7 pm, but I was there after 7 pm! They have a variety of drinks like sake, whiskey, champagne, wine, and beer and chu-hai for around 590 yen, which is a bit pricey. The food seems to be homemade. They have dishes like Tamago Sando and Shukumeriru. The staff, a kind man, was serving us. The owner, a woman, was in the back. I ordered: - 2 draft beers for 590 yen each - Potato salad for 500 yen The appetizer was mozuku vinegar for 330 yen. The beer was nicely chilled. The potato salad had mashed potatoes and a tangy onion flavor. There was also a TV, and the staff was chatting and having a good time. I heard they used to be somewhere nearby but had to move due to redevelopment. I ordered: - Seseri salt grill for 550 yen - Chu-hai for 590 yen The seseri was grilled perfectly and the salt sauce was a great match. It had a nice kick from the pepper. I enjoyed it with the chu-hai. It's a bit pricey but a good place for those who want to relax and enjoy their drinks. The homemade dishes were delicious. Thank you for the meal.

After finishing work, I stopped by with my boss! It's located just off the main street of Tsukishima. Inside, there is a standing bar that can accommodate up to 10 people. We started with a toast with beer! Since we were planning to go to a second place, we ordered lightly. The dishes we ordered were: - Squid Menchi (minced squid cutlet) - Dashimaki Tamago (rolled omelette) sandwich The appetizer for the day was boiled spinach, which was a nice touch as I don't usually eat vegetables living alone. The dashimaki tamago sandwich was served first. It seems to be a recommended dish as there are photos of it displayed in the shop! The bread was soft and fluffy, with a hint of sweetness, and the dashimaki tamago inside was just the right amount of salty and delicious! The squid menchi had plenty of finely chopped squid, and it went perfectly with the sauce. Since it was a completely weekday, the main street was less crowded, but it would be nice to have a place to casually drop by as the first stop on a Friday night when it's busier. Also, they apparently have a happy hour from 5-7 pm on Fridays. Thank you for the meal!

On March 14, 2022, feeling unsatisfied at the first bistro, I decided to check out another place nearby. I found out that a standing bar had recently opened, so I headed there. I arrived at 7:20 PM and there were 4 customers already there. There was no temperature check at the entrance, only hand sanitizer available. The ventilation inside was not very clear as the entrance door was not open. There were no partitions at the counter, and it was unclear how the seating was different from the usual setup. Surprisingly, all customers were seated even though it was a standing bar, with tall, unstable chairs typical of such places. A group of regular customers at the back all turned to look at me at once. One customer in front seemed half asleep. There was no greeting from the female owner, and it seemed like she didn't even notice my presence until I walked further inside. Finally, she told me to sit wherever I liked. A bottle of beer was 750 yen, and there was a seating charge of 330 yen. For various reasons, I decided to leave the place soon after entering.

A local favorite, Anesso Yamakaga, opened a standing bar as their second location. It's been about a year since they opened. While Anesso specializes in Shinshu soba and other Shinshu dishes, this location doesn't serve soba. However, the friendly landlady from Hakata serves up delicious dishes. As the name suggests, it's a casual standing bar where you can drop by anytime. The lightly pickled eggplant had a satisfying crunch and was delicious. The portion size was generous. We also ordered the garlic butter sautéed clams. Quick and tasty, perfect for a quick meal before heading back to work.

An extension of the Anessa Yamaka series. Located just one street away from Monja Street, this standing bar has pipe chairs where you can also sit down! The drinks are a bit pricey for a standing bar, but the food is like homemade creative cuisine, which I think is good!
