It seems that reservations are required. The restaurant gives off a typical izakaya vibe. I wasn't particularly looking for great taste in this genre, but I couldn't understand why it was always fully booked and bustling. Despite being mainly focused on fish dishes, the sashimi platter was more about presentation with large plates rather than offering good value in terms of quantity or taste. The sashimi platter included cooked seasoned shellfish, small rolls, boiled shrimp, and tamagoyaki. It may look fancy at first glance. The carpaccio for 1,100 yen was neither good nor bad, and it wasn't particularly generous in portion size. Overall, I didn't feel that it offered good value for money, but it seems popular among young people, possibly in their 20s. It caters to a younger crowd, with a lively and vibrant atmosphere, bright lighting, and closely packed seating.

Mr. Uokin has been using various restaurants since it opened. Recently, there are more restaurants with different types of cuisines, but the best is still in Shinbashi! When there are two people, it's hard to order a variety of dishes... For two people, ordering the "Tamatebako" sashimi set is a good deal. I forgot to take a picture, but the corn tempura was delicious too. I drank about 7 or 8 cups of sake per person, so the price went up a bit... (laughs) Shinbashi has many different restaurants, which is great. It's a sacred place for salarymen.

I went out for drinks with former colleagues from the past! I wonder how many years it has been. I was worried that we wouldn't have much to talk about after so long, but it turns out we hit it off right away. It's like we're comrades who have gone through the same struggles. However, as we get older, we can't eat as much, and the sashimi was too luxurious! The freshness was outstanding! It had been a while since we visited Fish Kin, but it was great!

At the end of our drinking party in Shinbashi, we always decide on Uogashi for sushi. This fourth branch accepts walk-ins after 8 pm. Even though we were turned away from the main and new branches, we decided to try our luck here. Luckily, there was a table available, and we were served the same cream croquette appetizer as the main branch. The sashimi was delicious, the sushi was delicious, and the fish quality here is consistent.

We went to Uogashi Uosen in Shinbashi for a company drinking party. It's been a while since I last visited Uogashi Uosen. In the past, I could just walk in, but nowadays you need a reservation to get a seat. We arrived before 6:00 PM and there were a few empty seats, but it quickly filled up. It's a popular restaurant. All the dishes were delicious, but the fish was especially good. The sashimi platter included tuna, sea bream, bonito, horse mackerel, shrimp, and more. There were actually 10 kinds of sashimi, even though it was supposed to be a 6-piece platter! Also, the famous seaweed tofu had a nice seaweed aroma and dashi flavor. It was delicious. The bill came out to 20,000 yen for 4 people, so 5,000 yen per person. We had some drinks and left with full stomachs. Thank you for the meal!

I was looking for an izakaya in Shinbashi and when I felt like eating fish, I immediately thought of Uokin. I went there right away and luckily there was only one seat available. My friend and I, two men, ordered a sashimi platter, grilled yellowtail belly, potato salad, and more. Everything was delicious, and we ended up drinking too much. Uokin serves excellent fish dishes at a reasonable price, so I use it for everyday dining. I will definitely go back!

2022 year-end party and farewell party were held at Uokin 4th branch in Shinbashi on March 27, 2023. The event was held to celebrate the end of the fiscal year and to bid farewell to those leaving the workplace. The venue was Uokin 4th branch, located near Shinbashi Station. The beer had a great foam. Cream croquettes were served as appetizers! Pickled radish with Shaoxing wine. There were only 5 types of oden left. Raw fish. Some kind of izakaya-style potato dish. The food was average except for the sashimi, which was delicious. The beer was very tasty! The foam really makes a difference!

No matter what you eat, it's a hit restaurant! If you're Japanese, you'll think "Ah, I'm glad I'm Japanese," and if you're a tourist, you'll think "Japanese food is amazing." There are many simple dishes, but some have a little twist to them. I wish they would also serve dishes from other izakayas. I love the eyes of the golden snapper, so it was incredibly delicious.

Even if the main store is busy, there is usually another nearby store that is available. I visited on a regular night. I made a reservation, but it seems like you can also get in without one if it's late. The restaurant is quite small and the stairs are steep. The dishes like dashimaki tamago and buri-kama were delicious. I would like to visit again.

It is a good idea to check the appetizer before ordering at Fish Kin. This time it was crab cream croquette, so I didn't need to order fried food. There were actually 9 types of sashimi in the 6-item sashimi platter, and I am always satisfied. Four fresh oysters were also included for just over 2000 yen, which is great value. Ordering a large portion of dashimaki tamago is not necessary as the small portion is about 4 slices. This time, I ordered sake such as Saku, Houou Mitaka, and Kokuryu, as well as 4-5 beers, one glass of shochu, and around 4 cups of oolong tea, all for about 4,000 yen per person! Overall, very satisfying.

I visited a store in Itabashi, and was guided to the second floor of the two-story building. The first floor had only a counter, while the second floor had table seats. The overall impression was a bit cramped, but the highlight was the surprise of crab cream croquettes as a complimentary dish! I love this menu item, so my excitement went up. The sashimi platter was delicious and the cost performance was amazing. I was very satisfied and would love to visit again if I have the chance.

I had some business in Shimbashi and stopped by Uokin. I forgot to take a photo, but I ordered the specialty Tamatebako, which is a platter of assorted sashimi and small appetizers. It was perfect for me as I like to try a little bit of everything. The fried chicken was a bit disappointing, but when you come to Uokin, it's all about the fish. Thank you for the meal.

This week, I was so busy with work that my shoulders and back were on the verge of collapsing. So on Friday, I left work early and headed to Shinbashi for a massage. After a thorough 70-minute massage at my regular spot, I went to Uokin 4th shop. Surprisingly, even though it was Friday at 7 pm, the place was empty. I ordered a beer and looked at the menu, and before I knew it, a crab cream croquette was brought to me. I thought this alone would fill me up, but then I decided to order a sashimi platter called "Tamatebako" for only 1,280 yen. The cost performance was amazing. I also ordered firefly squid marinated in vinegar, Gorgonzola cheese tempura, and cod roe tofu as side dishes. Everything was delicious as always. My friend unexpectedly joined me, making the night even more enjoyable. I remembered having cheap saury at Uokin last summer, but it seems they don't have it on the menu yet this year. I'll have to come back in the fall to look for saury. Thank you for the meal.

Visited for lunch. The location is right by Shinbashi Station, just outside the Karasumori exit in the izakaya district. While this area is filled with Unagi (eel) restaurants, this 4th branch is located right behind the main store. The interior is quite small with only a counter and a few table seats. However, due to the close proximity to other shops, there is a sense of interaction and exchange of ingredients with neighboring establishments. It feels more like an annex to the main store rather than a separate branch. I had the Special Unagi Bowl for 1,000 yen. Since it was close to the day of the Ox in midsummer, all Unagi restaurants in the area were having a Unagi campaign, so I decided to try it out. The domestic Unagi at this price point is definitely a good deal, typical of the cost performance of this chain. The Unagi itself was delicious, with a slight presence of bones but no unpleasant smell commonly found in cheaper options. While it may not compare to the Unagi from top-notch restaurants, it still satisfies the need for reasonably priced domestic Unagi with a sense of security. The miso soup also had seaweed in it, which was a nice touch. While Unagi restaurants like this used to be a symbol of Shinbashi, they are now quite common, similar to the "Shoya" chain of Japanese izakayas dominating the Tokyo area. I felt like the quality may have slightly declined over time, but overall, I left feeling quite satisfied!

Located on the left side as you head towards MacArthur Road from Shinbashi and Uchisaiwaicho, this fish izakaya is one of nine restaurants in Shinbashi listed on Tabelog that serves lunch. I visited on a Monday but they were closed, so I returned on Tuesday and found one other customer already there at 11:40. I sat at a seat near the entrance to the counter and ordered the cheapest menu item, the buri and shirasu bowl for 1,100 yen. While waiting, I listened to the sound of wind chimes as they were still preparing for business. After 12 minutes, the food arrived on a tray with cold tofu, pickles, miso soup, and scallop cream croquette. The croquette had a strong flavor so I didn't need any sauce. It was creamy and filling, with the evening menu offering 2 for 680 yen or 3 for 780 yen. The half-and-half bowl of shirasu and buri came with wasabi and sauce, and I quickly finished it without feeling too full. After a 20-minute stay and leaving 30 minutes later, I felt satisfied but not overly full, though it may have affected my work shortly after.

I'm surprised when I tell people that even though I live in Shinbashi, I've only been to Uogashi once. I made my debut there at the end of 2019, so I was quite late to the party (lol). For my second visit, I had the sashimi. I thought it was nice that they let customers brush soy sauce onto the fish themselves. It gets me excited and makes it easy to adjust the saltiness to my liking. ♡
