I casually explored Harumi Triton Square for lunch today. I took the A2b exit at Kachidoki Station on the Toei Oedo Line and turned right onto Seisumi Street, with Harumi Street ahead. I walked along Harumi Street towards Harumi for a while until I reached a bridge with a moving walkway. I crossed the bridge with the moving walkway, turned left, and walked along the canal until I found the entrance to Harumi Triton Square on my right. Inside the square, I took the escalator to the 3rd floor and walked a bit until I reached a fork in the path. I turned left and walked a little further until I found the restaurant I visited today, "Tsukiji Shokudo Gen-chan Harumi Triton Store." I arrived at the restaurant at 11:40 on a holiday.
Upon entering, a male staff member guided me to a table. Inside, there was a family of three, two parent-child pairs, a group of two men, and three solo male diners, totaling twelve customers. I sat down at a table and checked the menu, which featured various set meals, daily specials, and side dishes. I decided to order the "Sashimi Set Meal" as I was in the mood for some sashimi. After a 6-minute wait, the meal was served, consisting of sashimi, rice, miso soup, and pickled daikon. The sashimi included tuna, albacore tuna, red snapper, marinated mackerel, squid, and tamago (egg), all beautifully presented on a bed of ice with garnishes.
I started with the tuna, which was lean with a slightly firm texture, best enjoyed with wasabi soy sauce. The albacore tuna was light and refreshing, perfect with soy sauce and garnished with scallions and ginger. The red snapper had a delicate texture and a rich flavor, best paired with wasabi soy sauce. The marinated mackerel was well-seasoned with salt and vinegar, offering a satisfying taste. The squid was a first-time experience for me as raw sashimi, and I found it enjoyable when wrapped in shiso leaves and dipped in soy sauce and ginger. The tamago was a classic and delicious addition to the meal.
I finished the rice before the sashimi, so I ordered a refill and continued to enjoy the sashimi with the pickled daikon. After finishing the meal with miso soup, I was satisfied with the delicious sashimi set meal experience at Tsukiji Shokudo Gen-chan. It was a delightful dining experience for me.
