4th visit to Lanzhou Beef Noodle, added cilantro, chose the red braised beef noodle with triangular noodles. Delicious as always! The soup here is light but addictive, I almost finished it all! Lately, I've been craving cilantro a lot. I want to try authentic Chinese or Thai cuisine too, but I will definitely come back here to eat again.

When I tried the beef noodle soup in Lanzhou, I realized that it didn't have any daikon in it. I think it might be better with daikon in it... Also, most of the local places serve thin noodles, and I reconsidered that thin noodles actually go well with this soup. I ordered thick noodles this time, but I will choose thin noodles next time.

✅Probably authentic beef ramen✅Chinese language is spoken but Japanese is okay✅Noodles are homemade, so the dumpling skins are delicious too!/↓I also wrote a blog article! Please check it out if you're interested↓/Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup at Kokuitsuken Authentic Taiwanese beef noodle soup is different from this light broth beef noodle soup that I tried as a return for work near Ueno-Okachimachi Station. I bought a meal ticket at the touch panel ticket machine, checked in at the shop, then placed my order with the kitchen staff in Chinese. The place was filled with Chinese conversations, making me feel like I wasn't in Japan anymore. The regular customers seemed to be Chinese. As for the taste, the light and easy-to-drink soup with cilantro was very easy to eat. The handmade dumpling skins were the real deal, and the filling had a satisfying meaty texture, making it a rare and delicious dumpling. While Japanese restaurants may compromise taste for cost, this authentic flavor coming in like this makes me wonder if Japanese dumpling shops will be phased out. The dumplings were so delicious! Thank you for the meal!! Thank you very much!

I ordered thick noodles! Thick and uneven noodles appeared!! Reminiscent of dagojiru with a chewy texture and satisfying amount of noodles. The soup has a light broth that seems effective to drink when hungover. The pork chashu and chili oil were delicious too! There were many Chinese people eating Biang Biang noodles, so next time I'll try the Biang Biang noodles!!

I arrived at the restaurant at 5:57 pm on July 11, 2023 (Tuesday) and it was not crowded. I chose the thick beef noodle from the ticket machine in front of the store and paid 990 yen with PASMO. I received the food ticket and went inside the store where there were three other customers. Two of them had finished eating. My beef noodle arrived at 6:01 pm. There were chili oil and vinegar on the table, so I asked for a small plate to adjust the flavor. The soup was piping hot, so eating with the small plate was just right. The noodles were really thick and delicious, and the dish had four slices of thinly sliced beef. I thought I would try a different noodle next time, maybe the oil noodles. Two more customers came in while I was eating, and one person ordered takeout via Uber. I left the restaurant at 6:19 pm.

Lanzhou ramen offers a choice of 9 different types of noodles. The thick noodles give a strong wheat-eating sensation. The ramen has a fairly spicy flavor from the chili oil, with a hint of coriander. The normal thick noodles or thin flat noodles seem to be just right. Be careful as the portion size is very large.

I have tried Lanzhou ramen before in Jinbocho, and it was more of a mild, Japanese-friendly version of Lanzhou ramen. However, the shop I visited this time seems to be closer to the authentic local taste. You can choose from 9 types of noodles, and I personally recommend the thin noodles. The portion was generous, and the cilantro flavor was just right. The chashu was also light and good, and adding the black vinegar on the table to the soup can add a different flavor. I like black vinegar personally. The portion was just right and I left feeling satisfied.

I love this restaurant so much. I feel like some of the 500 items in my DNA test must be related to this noodles in some way. So, today I had the regular menu beef ramen for 990 yen. Honestly, the taste has declined compared to before. Maybe it's the amount or quality of the meat in the soup? Oh well, I'm a fan so I'll give it a generous 4 stars. The couple next to me chose the oil noodles with super thick noodles, oh yeah, that's definitely delicious, I wish them happiness forever. Thank you for the meal today~

I lived in China for a long time, so I used to eat Ranjor Ramen like a snack. This shop appeared in Okachimachi, and when I took a bite, it was like a flashback! When I have a hangover, I choose the regular beef noodles with thin noodles, and when my stomach is feeling good, I definitely go for the oil noodles! I recommend the triangular noodles when having the oil noodles. The noodles are super al dente, and the moment I took my first bite, my mind flew to Makunaka in Jimbocho. No, that place has an impact with bonito flakes, like a distant cousin from another country, haha. If you're not averse to black vinegar, please try it with the oil noodles. The chili oil that comes with the oil noodles by default is also fresh and delicious, with a good balance. The additional chili oil is made from burnt ingredients, so personally, I find it a bit too strong. If you like spicy food, you might want to add more, but be careful as it changes the taste significantly. They are open from 11 am, and if you go around 3 pm, you'll see many Chinese customers eating it as a snack. I love noodles, comrades. I will definitely go again~.

I found a Chinese ramen restaurant in Shinjuku that I was interested in, but I didn't have a chance to go, so I decided to visit this restaurant in Ueno while enjoying the cherry blossoms! I bought a meal ticket from the ticket machine outside. I ordered the Lanzhou beef noodles with triangle noodles. Inside the restaurant, everyone except us was Chinese. The noodles came out quickly, but they were lukewarm!! And the noodles I chose didn't absorb the soup at all. It was a struggle to eat through it. Having lukewarm ramen is fatal.

In the middle of the night in Ueno, I stumbled upon a ramen shop along Kasuga Street that caught my eye with its thick noodles. The interior was clean and modern, and I was able to choose the thickness of my noodles at the counter. I ordered the Lanzhou beef ramen with thick noodles for 960 yen. When the bowl arrived, I was surprised to see perfectly round, thick noodles peeking out from under the beef. The noodles had a slightly powdery texture and a satisfying chewiness. The light broth had a unique aroma with hints of herbs and cilantro, which made it addictive. There was also chili oil on the table to add some extra kick to the soup. Overall, it was a great find for a spontaneous visit. I look forward to trying their Himo Kawa Udon next time.

Wednesday, February 1, 2023, 6:10 PM. Arrived at the restaurant with no customers inside. Purchased a ticket from the automatic ticket machine outside and entered the restaurant. The ticket machine was state-of-the-art and accepted credit cards and electronic money, but it was a bit confusing to use. I selected the type of noodles by pressing a photo on the touch screen. There were 9 types of noodles to choose from, and I selected the Lanzhou beef ramen for 960 yen with thick noodles. Both of the two staff members were Chinese. They asked if I was okay with spicy oil and cilantro, and I said yes. The ramen was served at 6:19 PM. I realized that there was spicy oil on the table, so I should have asked them not to put it in. I took a sip of the soup and couldn't taste the beef broth because of the spiciness and cilantro flavor. The hand-pulled noodles were refreshing and had a good texture, similar to udon noodles. The spicy cilantro-flavored soup was quite addictive, and I ended up drinking it all, causing my face to sweat profusely. I left the restaurant at 6:29 PM. Thank you for the meal.

It's near Ueno Station. You can choose from very thin to very thick noodles, or even thicker. The spiciness is delicious with the special spicy oil. The cilantro adds to the ethnic flavor. They ask if you want both, so even if you don't like it, it's okay.

After work, I went to Okachimachi for lunch and had ramen. For dinner, I went to Kokuichi Menya after 6 PM and ordered the Lanzhou beef noodle from the vending machine for 960 yen. I chose the super thick belt noodles from the 9 options, with coriander and spicy oil. I put my belongings on the seat, put on a paper apron next to the water dispenser, and got ready to eat. The super thick noodles arrived, and I wasn't sure where to start, so I just picked up a piece and dipped it in the soup. The soup was a bit light, but the spicy oil and coriander matched well. The noodles were like udon, and the portion was just right for dinner. The beef had a steamed texture, and the spicy oil warmed me up in the cold weather. I left feeling full and satisfied - thank you for the meal!

Lanzhou beef noodles, a first experience. (≧∀≦) There are counter seats facing the wall, as well as several tables. There may be a second floor as well. The Lanzhou beef noodles cost 960 yen including tax, and you can choose the thickness of the noodles. I chose thin noodles this time. They asked if I wanted cilantro and chili oil added, and I requested cilantro. The soup was light, refreshing, and spicy. It was very easy to eat. They provide paper aprons. After eating, when I took off the apron, it was quite dirty. Even though I thought I was eating carefully, the soup still splattered quite a bit. (≧∀≦)

Located across from Matsuya in Ueno, I decided to visit this place after seeing it on Tabelog. The location is excellent. I couldn't understand the customer service as they didn't speak my language. The cheapest option was 960 yen. The ramen in the photo was better than expected. It had a strong taste of artificial seasoning, but it was delicious like high-quality instant noodles. The meat and noodles were different from what I imagined. I would rate it 3.5 out of 5. The portion size was decent.

Today, I stopped by Casio in Akihabara for my G-Shock repair, then before watching a movie at TOHO Cinemas in Ueno (although the nearest station is Okachimachi/Ueno-hirokoji), I used the waiting time to look for lunch. I finally visited the China Lanzhou Beef Noodle Guoichi Men Okachimachi Main Store, which I had been curious about every time I went to Okachimachi. I purchased the Lanzhou Beef Noodle and Lanzhou Water Dumplings set from the high-tech food ticket machine in front of the store. Among the 9 types of noodles, I chose the thick noodles popular with men. When I entered the store, the Chinese staff asked if I wanted to add cilantro and chili oil, so I decided to add both. When I took a sip of the clear soup that was brought to me, it was easy to drink with a clear taste. However, I was surprised by how thick the noodles were, almost as thick as udon, and they were even connected in some parts (lol). The chili oil on top spread out, and with each bite of noodles, I started sweating uncontrollably, which was tough. The water dumplings were delicious, especially when eaten with black vinegar and chili oil, as the skin was chewy. It was so spicy that all I could manage was to drink water, and I ended up not being able to finish the soup, I'm sorry (bitter smile). Next time, I'll probably skip the chili oil (lol). This was my first time trying a Chinese noodle dish other than ramen, and I'm glad I went. #ChinaLanzhouBeefNoodleGuoichiMenOkachimachiMainStore #LanzhouWaterDumplingsSet #NoodleAdventure #Noodlestagram #ChiliOilIsSuperSpicyLaugh

On this day, I had work in Ueno. There are many delicious restaurants in Ueno, so I hadn't decided where to go until the day of. In the morning, I watched a recorded episode of "Matsuko's Unknown World," which featured mapo men. As I watched, my mouth started craving mapo men, so I decided to have mapo men for lunch in Ueno! However, when I searched, I couldn't find any mapo men menus around Ueno Station. There were plenty of Chinese restaurants, but all I could find was lamb dishes. Finally, I found this restaurant. The specialty here is Chinese Lanzhou beef ramen, but I visited for the mapo men. I ordered the special mapo men (880 yen) from the touch-panel ticket machine outside. I chose thick noodles from the 9 types available for the mapo men. I took the ticket inside and sat at the counter, informing them that I was dining alone. After a while, the mapo men arrived. Huh? Mapo men doesn't have soup, it's dry! I thought it had soup based on the images on the touch-panel ticket machine... Oh well, no choice now. I mixed the mapo sauce with the noodles. The noodles were quite heavy even though they were thick. I wonder how heavy they would be if they were extra thick or super wide... When I tried it, the noodles were chewy with a good texture. The spiciness of the mapo was mild, but I liked the lack of sweetness. The mapo only had tofu as the main ingredient. It seemed like a healthy noodle dish, but I wished there was a side dish to complement it. I added some chili oil from the table a couple of times, but it didn't add much spice. I thought if this one plate would be enough, but surprisingly, I was full. Maybe it was because the noodles were chewy. Since I came all the way to Ueno, I decided to buy souvenirs for my dad on the way back home. Thank you for the meal.

Located just 1 minute from Ueno Station, this shop offers Lanzhou-style dumplings for ¥1,290. I purchased a ticket from the machine outside and chose the triangle noodles from the various options available. The noodles were chewy with a good bite to them. The soup had a refreshing taste. Mixing in plenty of chili oil and cilantro added a different deliciousness. It's very addictive. The dumplings were also very tasty with a generous portion. Thank you for the meal!
