Unexpectedly, I found myself at Kushikatsu Tanaka, and there was a dog sitting at the table next to me! The kushikatsu seems to have gotten even tastier since the last time I visited! They have a wide variety of drinks, and the Chinchirorin event where you can win a large size portion or play service games looks like a lot of fun (although it might be a bit embarrassing for elderly couples, so maybe next time). I purchased a drink pass for 550 yen that makes drinks cheaper for a month, so a few days later, I came back alone. It seems like I fell right into their plan, huh? (laughs) This is a great promotion! There are many delicious and enjoyable menu items like katsu udon, chijimi, and DIY potato salad that I missed out on in Osaka. As for sitting with pets, I thought there would be a separate section, but it turns out it's just regular seating. There were other customers without pets sitting right next to us (the staff confirmed and seated them). If your dog barks or moves around a lot, they might stand out a bit (^o^;) Also, there are no special seats for dogs, so it's a good idea to bring a cart or cushion. We brought a cart and sat right next to the table (by the wall).

"I have visited several branches of 'Kushikatsu Tanaka' and found that the menu, service, and taste can vary depending on the location and time. This lack of consistency makes me feel less confident in the chain. The taste is not bad, but it's not amazing either. I am concerned about the fluctuation in prices and service."

Today, I finished work earlier than usual, so I decided to wander around Tachikawa looking for a place to have a drink. I stumbled upon a place called "Kushikatsu Tanaka" that I have visited a few times before. They had a super cheap happy hour until 6 pm on weekdays! I hurriedly ordered a drink before the happy hour ended. I ordered a Jim Beam highball for only 50 yen (excluding tax). The ice was a bit much, but for that price, it was worth it. I also ordered a lemon sour for the same price. I managed to order it just before the happy hour ended. The lemon sour was refreshing and a great deal for 50 yen. I also ordered a 5-piece kushikatsu assortment for 640 yen (excluding tax). It included lotus root, shrimp, beef, onion, and pork skewers. The beef skewer was juicy and delicious, and the shrimp was plump and tasty. The vegetable skewers were a nice complement to the drinks. The hot kushikatsu paired well with the lemon sour. Unfortunately, with the additional order and the appetizer, the total bill was over 1000 yen. Overall, it was a good experience to enjoy cheap drinks and tasty kushikatsu.

It had been a while since I visited Kushikatsu Tanaka. This was my first time at the Tachikawa branch. The first floor is non-smoking, while the second floor is for smoking. The men's restroom is on the first floor, and the women's restroom is on the second floor, so you have to go to the smoking area to use the restroom. They offer free takoyaki and soft-serve ice cream for children under elementary school age. Children's soft drinks are free if you win rock-paper-scissors with the staff, half price if it's a tie, and full price if you lose. At other branches, the staff would purposely lose, but the staff at the Tachikawa branch played fair haha. They have plenty of children's favorite kushikatsu like cheese and mochi, making it a great place for families. We also used a first drink service coupon, so the adults could enjoy food and drinks at a great deal. Will definitely visit again!

A few minutes' walk from JR Tachikawa Station South Exit, I made a reservation for 19:00 with my partner to visit "Kushikatsu Tanaka Tachikawa" with two people. When did Osaka-style kushikatsu restaurants start becoming more common in Tokyo? There is another kushikatsu restaurant in Tachikawa called "Kushikatsu Dengan." It used to be that when you went to Osaka, you would eat kushikatsu in Abeno or Shinsekai, but now it has become quite common in Tokyo as well. Perhaps the driving force in Tokyo was "Kushikatsu Tanaka"? After finishing some errands in Otemachi, I came for the limited-time menu item (Asukatsu), but that day they were also offering all kushikatsu for 100 yen each, so the restaurant was quite crowded. They have free ice cream challenges for kids and a menu where you can cook your own takoyaki, so there are many families with children as customers. The kushikatsu is not greasy and has a light taste, and the sizes are small so you can eat quite a few. Of course, double dipping in the sauce is not allowed (laughs). If you really must, you can scoop the sauce with cabbage and pour it over. They don't accept cards, so please pay with a smile in cash. No overtime! (o▽n)

I visited Kushi Katsu Tanaka, which is usually crowded even on weekdays. When I ordered a Chinchirorin Highball, I found myself looking around the restaurant at the sound of the bell. It was my second visit, so I asked them to make me some random skewers that I hadn't tried before and started drinking. I usually drink lemon sour, but I ordered the Chinchirorin Highball to show off to my friends. The atmosphere with posters and menus covering the walls and a TV made for a lively and enjoyable gathering with uninterrupted conversation. The food was consistently good and satisfying. When we received the bill, we were pleasantly surprised by the cost performance. Overall, we left feeling very satisfied!

Tachikawa Station South Exit is just a few minutes away, open from noon and serving takoyaki for free, among other child-friendly services, making it great for families. The first floor is non-smoking with separate smoking areas available. There is also a counter on the first floor for solo diners. Even on a weekday after 4 PM, the first floor was 80% full. The sour drinks are priced from 399 yen, kushikatsu from 100 yen, and the appetizers are a bit limited and slightly expensive. The cabbage appetizer with free refills is 250 yen, and the grilled mackerel with pickled ginger is a must-try at Tanaka. The refreshing combination of vinegar and pickled ginger pairs well with the slightly grilled flavor. The kushikatsu has a thin coating and a hint of lard aroma, fried to a crispy texture and goes well with the light sauce. Although it's not the type of kushikatsu where you can eat many skewers, you can probably have 5-6 skewers. The deep-fried whole boiled egg skewer is quite innovative. The asparagus skewer features a thin asparagus but is a classic choice. Considering the portion size of each skewer, it may not be very cheap, but it's not something you can easily have at home, so it's exciting. Eating 5-6 skewers and drinking 2-3 drinks costs around 2500 yen per person. It may not be a cheap eatery, but with its family-friendly services, bright atmosphere, and separate smoking areas, it seems suitable for female groups as well.

Unfortunately, in a game where the Giants' golden era was supported by Maki, Saito, and Kuwata throwing the first pitch, the Giants suffered a crushing defeat as the wives and grandmothers cheered loudly without any restraint. Despite the loss, going to the stadium, drinking while watching baseball seemed very enjoyable...even after returning to Tachikawa, the excitement did not subside, and we drank so much that we lost count. It's great to casually drink and have fun while watching baseball. A kushikatsu restaurant is perfect for that. It somehow feels more lively than yakitori. There's Kushikatsu Den in the south exit of Tachikawa, but we chose "Tanaka" near the station for the convenience of the grandmother. Of course, we must have kushikatsu, onion, wiener, and lotus root. And ham katsu. Ham katsu is as good as kushikatsu, and the hot onion is sweet and delicious. The crispy texture of the lotus root is irresistible. In 1990, the Giants had Saito as their ace, and that year, Miyamoto (now a coach) also won 14 games alongside Saito. In other words, Saito = kushikatsu, Miyamoto = ham katsu, and Wiener is Kida, who won 12 games. And Maki = onion, Kuwata = lotus root. It's an all-star lineup! The staff at the restaurant are also friendly and the freshly fried kushikatsu goes well with beer and highballs. Why is Kuwata associated with lotus root? Because he has a strong heart with a hole in it!! (That's settled!) Huh? Is it because he has hair growing on him? If there's a hole in the heart, you'll die~m(_ _)m

A casual early evening drinking session with two guys. They like to drink a lot, so they prefer places with all-you-can-drink options. They initially planned to go to "Shibasakaya" for their single item all-you-can-drink deal, but they were told they needed to make a reservation for 5:30 PM onwards. They decided to go to Kushikatsu Tanaka instead. They ordered a variety of kushikatsu, macaroni salad, boiled peanuts, pickled mackerel, and more. They were impressed by the quality of the food and the reasonable prices. The atmosphere was lively, and the staff seemed to work efficiently and harmoniously. Overall, they enjoyed their experience at the restaurant.

SOUL SURVIVOR

The last review of 2018 was for the unexplored kushikatsu restaurant, Tanaka. I decided to go in because they were open during the day, and was surprised to see that the place was filled with families with young children. It seemed like Tanaka was playing the role that family restaurants usually do. I sat at the counter where I could see the kitchen and ordered the ale, red ginger, quail egg, and tomato skewers. I placed my order with a staff member who looked like the middle of the comedy duo, Panther. The complimentary dish was cabbage. I drank about half of my Premium Malt beer when the kushikatsu arrived. The batter was light and the sauce was sweeter than expected. There was also a spicy sauce on the table, but it was just average in spiciness. The red ginger portion was small, but the batter was deliciously crispy. The quail egg and tomato skewers had the same shape. The cherry tomato was hot, so be careful not to burn yourself. Hot tip! I stayed for about 20 minutes and then asked for the bill. The young child in the family next to me started to cry, making it feel like a kushikatsu daycare. Thank you for a great year. Wishing everyone a happy new year.

I am a fan of Kushi Katsu Tanaka and I visit various locations! Usually, I go to Hashimoto, but this day I went to Tachikawa!! I had some business to attend to in Tachikawa so I went with a friend to the restaurant!! It was around 9 pm, and the first floor was full! We were directed to the second floor where there were seats available for two people. The seating was not cramped and had enough space. Now, onto the main topic of Kushi Katsu! As expected, it was delicious!! I personally love the sauce at Kushi Katsu Tanaka! It has a unique sweet and salty taste that goes well with every skewer. Additionally, each skewer comes with mayonnaise, tartar sauce, and even chocolate sauce for the banana skewers! I heard that some locations even offer free ice cream for kids! The prices are very reasonable, even for a family, you can eat for under 10,000 yen with change to spare!

Jaan. I couldn't help but stop in my tracks when I saw the sign saying that "Kushikatsu Tanaka" is changing its name to "Kushikatsu Sato"! But upon closer inspection, it was just an April Fools' Day prank, as it was handwritten on the sign. I was surprised! And they also mentioned that they will give a 5% discount for each "Tanaka" and "Sato". I immediately thought of the "Satou" and "Tanaka" people around me. There are quite a few "Satou" people, especially in the company. Satou-san found it amusing when I sent him this photo, saying, "Funny! I want to go there!" I'm sure the ratio of Satou-san and Tanaka-san at Kushikatsu Tanaka has been pretty high this past week. I haven't been able to update my blog recently, so I decided to post directly on Tabelog about chain restaurants, but I wanted to keep this photo as a memory, so I ended up writing a blog post. Oh, by the way, I did have some kushikatsu at the restaurant. I ordered the assorted kushikatsu platter. Freshly fried kushikatsu is definitely delicious. The sauce is also tasty. We also tried some other appetizers, and they were all delicious. The round chairs don't allow you to lean back, so it can be tiring to sit for a long time, but it's great for enjoying a quick meal! Sometimes my Chinese friend living in Canada visits Japan, and I think they would love this kind of restaurant. Kushikatsu is truly a representative Japanese dish. Thank you for the meal. The kushikatsu I had in Osaka was quite different from what I had imagined. The Chinchirorin game resulted in an odd number, so I received double the amount at double the price.

The restaurant was quite crowded, so I sat at the counter. The kushikatsu was good, but the "kasu udon" I tried for the first time was delicious. It had a unique flavor that I haven't tasted elsewhere, and I think it could become addictive. It might be hard to find in Tokyo, so I want to go back to eat kasu udon again.

I saw a special feature on TV, so I decided to go. I had been avoiding kushikatsu because it seemed oily, but when I actually tried it, it wasn't like that at all. They had a fun way of choosing drinks with a dice, so even kids could enjoy. The kushikatsu was delicious. The restaurant was crowded, but they had proper smoking and non-smoking sections. I would like to visit again.

I used it for a drinking party with friends. The beef and asparagus in the kushikatsu were delicious. Other than kushikatsu, I liked the macasala with curry flavor. The cabbage appetizer was said to be free for seconds, so I had it twice and they didn't mind.
