Ramen + rice for 1050 yen. It was around 5pm so it was not crowded. I was hungry so I added rice, but a small portion would have been enough. I added a raw egg and ate it with the rice, turning it into egg rice. It was pretty good, but something felt missing. Maybe I should have added raw garlic.

This is a shop in the ramen theme park "Kyoto Ramen Koji" on the 10th floor of Kyoto Station Building. They serve Tokushima ramen, a classic dish with rich pork bone soy sauce broth topped with sweet and savory pork. The fact that they provide a raw egg on the table for free is a nice touch. The soup is flavorful, so it pairs well with rice. Finishing the meal with egg over rice while sipping the ramen soup was the best part. We also ordered gyoza, which was packed with vegetables and juicy, and it paired well with the ramen too.

On Friday before 7pm, I was able to walk in without waiting. It's the weekend, but surprisingly Ramen Koji was not crowded. Once seated, my order came out quickly, maybe in about 3-4 minutes. The ramen had a sweet soy sauce flavor that went well with the bean sprouts. It was delicious. The noodles were thin and didn't feel heavy, so I enjoyed it until the last bite! The price was 800 yen for Tokushima Ramen.

This is the Tokushima Ramen Higashi Dai Kyoto store located on the 10th floor of JR Kyoto Isetan. They offer Tokushima ramen with a soy sauce base that has a sweet and rich flavor, which is popular among many people. The noodles are straight and medium-thin with a good chewy texture. The ramen comes with toppings such as sweet and savory pork belly, bean sprouts, green onions, and bamboo shoots, with a raw egg provided on the side. Some refer to this combination of ingredients and soup as "sukiyaki ramen." During the recent chicken egg shortage, the raw egg is provided for free. I ordered the regular Tokushima ramen with firm noodles and a small bowl of rice with a soy sauce dip for a Tamago Kake Gohan (TKG). The meal was delicious and satisfying.

In the past, I had never tried Tokushima ramen and I wasn't particularly drawn to it. I knew there was a branch at Todai, but I thought I might try it someday. That day happened to be today. I ordered the Todai Special for 1250 yen with a side of rice for 250 yen. Apparently, you can have unlimited raw eggs, but I didn't feel the need to eat that many. However, I noticed the person sitting across from me was cracking eggs quite frequently. They were dipping the noodles in the beaten egg or mixing it into the soup. They must have cracked about 8 eggs in total. Towards the end, they were just drinking the raw egg without the soup. It distracted me a bit, but I managed to enjoy the sweet pork bone soy soup with sukiyaki meat, chashu, green onions, boiled egg, and bamboo shoots. I used one egg for egg over rice. Overall, it was just a matter of personal preference for the soup. I didn't graduate from Todai, I dropped out. Thank you for the meal.

I had some time, so I decided to have lunch here to fill my stomach. While buying a meal ticket, the line shortened and I was soon seated with only a short wait. I chose the classic Tokushima ramen (800 yen) from the menu. Soon it arrived! The rich pork bone soy sauce broth had slices of pork back fat on top. The well-cooked fatty meat and straight medium-thin noodles mixed together nicely and tasted delicious. I also ordered an extra serving of noodles (150 yen) inside the restaurant. It was a delicious meal.

The finishing touch in Kyoto is this ramen! I have also visited the main store in Tokushima! The taste was similar, so I was impressed. The ramen is thick and creamy with a raw egg added in! Eggs are free, so you can also enjoy it as egg over rice!

I took the elevator at Isetan straight to the 10th floor. I was lucky to enter without waiting in line as I arrived around 3 pm. There were ropes set up outside the store for lining up. I was surprised that they offered free eggs! It was my first time trying Tokushima ramen, and the rich soup was delicious.

Located on the 10th floor of Kyoto Station Building, Kyoto Ramen Street is home to various ramen shops from Hokkaido to Kyushu. This time, I decided to try the "Tokushima Ramen."
- Tokushima Ramen: ¥750
- Fried Rice (small): ¥380
The ramen had a rich soup base made from simmered beef belly and pork bones with soy sauce. They also offer "raw eggs" on the table for unlimited refills. The combination of sweet and savory meat with eggs reminded me of sukiyaki. The flavor was rich but gentle. Although I ordered fried rice this time, it would probably go better with plain rice. Overall, it was a delicious meal.

Visited Tokushima Ramen for the first time. The egg is free and you can add more by yourself. The meat has a sweet flavor and is delicious. I also ordered fried rice, which was also very tasty. It seems like you can get an extra serving of noodles if you need more. There is soy sauce for egg rice on the table, which seems to go well with white rice. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered Tokushima Ramen regular size for 800 yen, White Ramen for 950 yen, and Chicken Karaage & Rice for 380 yen at the Tokushima Ramen shop in Kyoto Ramen Koji on the 10th floor of Isetan at Kyoto Station. I may have gotten too used to Kyoto Ramen because the Tokushima Ramen didn't quite suit my taste. The White Ramen, however, was delicious.

Around 2010, memories of visiting the Tokushima Honten branch of Toudai Ramen came flooding back. It was a peculiar ramen, more like a Chinese soba, with a sweet and spicy pork bone soup topped with sukiyaki-style pork belly. I didn't know they had a branch at Kyoto Station. It's a nostalgic taste of Chinese soba. I remember the quiet ramen shop tucked away in the local entertainment district of Tokushima.

I had Tokushima ramen and gyoza. I felt the pork bone broth in the Japanese-style soup. Maybe because I had it in Kyoto? It goes perfectly with raw egg. I love gyoza, and the ones here with a thin skin and strong garlic flavor were delicious. It was my first time trying Tokushima ramen, and I really liked it. It's now one of my favorites. The restaurant is conveniently located above the station. Thank you for the meal!

Arrived at the Ramen Street at 5:30 PM on Thursday. The location of the Ramen Street itself is a bit hard to find, but you can head towards Isetan. Since it was a weekday, there was no need to wait in line. The rich and hearty flavor is perfect for when you're really hungry and want to dig in. The meat goes really well with the rice. I recommend trying the tableside ramen condiments. The garlic included adds an extra level of flavor to the ramen. And it's amazing that the egg is free, right? It's gotten quite expensive lately, hasn't it? Enjoy some egg on rice with the flavorful soy sauce. The end.

Around 20:20, all the shops I visited were crowded with foreign tourists, but this one was relatively empty so I decided to go in. I had a rich Tokushima ramen with a pork bone base. The pork belly cooked in a sukiyaki-style sauce combined with the flavorful pork bone soup to create the ultimate tag team. This soup is a must with white rice! I recommend making a TKG (Tamago Kake Gohan) and adding a few drops of soup on top. Thank you for the meal.

I came to Kyoto but ended up going to Todai instead of Kyodai?! To take revenge for my recent business trip to Tokushima, I headed to Kyoto Station in the morning of June 21, 2023. It's been a while since I looked up at the structures of Kyoto Station. Unfortunately, the weather was gloomy. First, I went to Kyoto Ramen Street in the station building for a meal. It's a bit strange to come to Kyoto and go to Todai. I heard that the Tokushima ramen shop I couldn't visit during my last business trip offers free raw eggs. Miso flavor?! It's rich! But delicious. I wonder if the other items are tasty too? In terms of academic level, it was well, just average haha ^^;;

Since the opening of the Ramen Alley in Kyoto Station Building, there has been a branch of Tokushima Ramen Tohda, which serves a sweet and thick Tonkotsu soy sauce ramen. The ramen here may be a hit or miss for some people, but I sometimes crave this unique flavor. They offer free raw eggs even during these times, but I always end up getting too full from adding it to my meal. Instead, I tried the Tohda Special with simmered pork belly and chashu, which was like eating a sukiyaki-style hot pot. Mixing the rich soup with the meat and plenty of white negi gave a comforting feeling, almost like poking at a hot pot. Of course, finishing the soup is a must. But I still wish I could have had that egg rice too!

When I arrived in Kyoto, I was really hungry, so I decided to have ramen for the first time in a while. I visited Ramen Alley at Kyoto Station. There was a line, but I was seated in about 10 minutes. As recommended by everyone, I added a raw egg. The rich flavor and the raw egg mixed well together. The meat was seasoned sweet and spicy. This dangerously delicious flavor makes you want to have a carb fest with rice. The gyoza was just okay. I should have gone for the rice set. Definitely a place to go when you want a bold ramen flavor.
