I love beef tongue so much, and I finally went to a restaurant after thinking about it for years. I wanted to eat only beef tongue skewers, so I ordered all of them a la carte, but unfortunately, they only allow one skewer per person. Even one skewer was quite filling. I have had aged beef tongue before, but the texture was completely different from other restaurants. In addition to the beef tongue skewers, I ordered a platter of beef sashimi, marbled tendon, ginkgo nuts, asparagus, garlic foil-baked beef tongue, and tail steamed in sake. The marbled tendon was a bit heavy for me, but the beef sashimi platter, tail steamed in sake, and salt-steamed tongue were very delicious. The salt-steamed tongue was like pate, giving a strange sensation.

①In the à la carte menu, prices were not listed. We ended up spending over 70,000 yen for two people because we drank a lot of alcohol (laughs). Is it okay not to have prices on the menu at this level? ②There was a regular customer at the back who was lying face down at the table and sleeping. Considering the risks during this time, is it okay to leave such people unattended when they come to eat? ③The food was delicious. They quickly recommend more drinks, whether alcohol or soft drinks, as soon as they run out, but I may not necessarily be looking for that kind of speed. It's a place where it's better to enjoy a course. It may not be suitable for entertaining as the price may not be easily conveyed to the customers.

Having a meal with colleagues while having a meeting. We entered a slightly pricey restaurant, and to our surprise, the menu didn't have prices listed. We ended up ordering a la carte items such as oxtail stew, beef tataki, tongue skewers, belly skewers, skirt steak skewers, asparagus, and shiitake mushrooms. We started with bottled beer. The oxtail stew was very tender, but a bit dry. The beef tataki was delicious without being too fatty. The skewers were all made with good quality meat and were juicy, although they didn't leave a particularly special impression. We also had shochu and highballs, and the total bill for two people was just over 30,000 yen. In terms of cost performance, considering it's in Ginza and the quality of beef, we tried to justify the price to ourselves. If using it for entertaining clients, you would probably need to order a course meal with drinks, costing around 20,000 to 30,000 yen per person.

It had been about 15 years since my last visit, but the deliciousness of the food remains unchanged. I came for the beef tongue, which never fails to impress, but I was also amazed by the flavor of the skirt steak. I have tried various cuts like harami and skirt steak before, but this place is the best. The skewers are quite large, so be mindful when ordering. This time we had a course meal, but next time I want to share the skewers with my partner, except for the main ones. The beef tongue and skirt steak were truly impressive. I hope to make it a point to visit at least once a year. Thank you for the meal. *I also tried other dishes, but forgot to take photos.

I entered the second restaurant on a whim. It was a Saturday and I was able to get in without a reservation. First of all, I recommend checking out this restaurant on Tabelog before going. The counter is spacious and smoking is allowed. There are many pieces of aging beef tongue hanging in the refrigerator. The menu listed an omakase course for 11800 yen (tax and service charge included), but there were no prices listed for individual items. When I ordered one skewer per person, a huge skewer came out (sweat). It was not a portion for one person... it was meant to be shared. They should have told us in advance. I wanted to try various types. The black wagyu beef tongue was well cooked, had a sense of aging, and had a good texture. However, it was too salty. It's a waste to put that much salt by default. Delicious... really delicious! ★Appetizers: 3 items including salad. ★Skewers: 2 skewers. ★Intermezzo: Salt-steamed beef tongue. ★Drinks: Sapporo Black Label (medium bottle), Torikai (watered down). It cost a little over 10,000 yen per person. The second restaurant was good... I would have been in trouble if I had ordered 4 skewers from the beginning.

This is a considerably delayed post. I remember how delicious it was. I was a bit worried about the market price, but it was a treat so I felt relieved. The aged beef tongue had the maximum umami flavor, it was incredibly delicious. I tried the sagari and sirloin as well, but the tongue was the best. I had seconds (it was a treat). Of course, I was surprised by the bill! You'll understand once you go. But it was worth every penny. I think I'll save up and go again someday.

Visited in July 2016 on the recommendation of my boss, who is a regular customer. Went to Tan-ya Matbei in Ginza with two of my colleagues for a small party. I was hesitant to bring only two people, but after hearing the average budget, I decided to keep the group small. I'm not a foodie, but I wanted to try the high-quality aged beef tongue. The restaurant is located on a narrow street between Corridor Street and Dentsu Street in Ginza, with Tokyo Yakitori-Tei Ginza Main Store next door and Tako Hachi across the street. We made a reservation the day before as we arrived late at night. The interior of the restaurant is not as spacious as expected, with a counter and a table for about four people. And in the back of the counter, there is a showcase with hanging aged beef. They were huge and impressive. The menu did not have prices listed, which made me nervous, but the staff explained the dishes well. We ordered sashimi, beef tongue skewers, various types of meat skewers, grilled vegetables, and recommended dishes. The food was delicious, especially the beef tongue skewers and the marbled beef skewers. The atmosphere was great, and we had a good time. Overall, the bill was lower than expected, as we only ordered regular drinks. I would have tried more if I had ordered sake. The restaurant had a good selection of drinks, and the service was excellent. We left the restaurant satisfied and happy.

Since it was my first visit and I didn't know what to order, I chose a course menu for around 15,000 yen. The skewers were delicious, but the simmered tongue we had at the beginning was incredibly tender, and the porridge was rich and very tasty. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
