✶---------<Impressions, Thoughts>---------✶I visited Tenrin at the 2nd floor restaurant area of Hibiya Midtown. I arrived for a late lunch on a weekday without having to wait. I ordered the Tenrin Bowl with an additional boiled egg. (Recently, tempura with half-boiled eggs is common, but tempura with boiled eggs is quite rare, isn't it?) The dish was served in about 5 minutes. Despite being tempura, the speedy service was appreciated. The dish had an impressive and voluminous appearance, with a luxurious lineup including: 2 shrimp, squid, shiitake mushrooms, lotus root, eggplant, shishito peppers, and boiled eggs (I ordered an extra one). There didn't seem to be any special thick sauce, but the batter had a slightly sweet taste. The shrimp was plump and had a satisfying texture. The shiitake mushrooms were crispy as usual, making me feel like having a drink even in the afternoon. The standout items were the boiled egg and squid. The boiled egg was well-flavored, visually appealing, and paired perfectly with the rice. The squid was thick, tender, and full of umami flavor. I finished the dish in no time and felt full. Had my first meal at Midtown Hibiya. I arrived at 5:00 PM on a Sunday. The restaurant was not too crowded, allowing for a relaxing atmosphere. It's a stylish place with mostly counter seats. Here are the dishes I ordered this time. "Enjoy Course with Drinks" for 5,500 yen. - Appetizer: A hearty dish that could make you want to drink a whole bottle just with the appetizers! It really lifted my spirits. - Today's Vegetables: A salad with ham, onsen egg, and tempura bits. The textures were delightful and the flavors were enjoyable. - Beef Tendon Tofu: This dish was especially delicious. - Creative Tempura Platter: A beautifully presented plate with generous portions. Each dish was meticulously prepared and impressive. - Jumbo Shrimp Tempura: The size of the shrimp was huge! A bit messy to eat but delicious. - Soba Noodles (Cold or Hot): Served with plenty of condiments and toppings. Even though I was full, I ended up finishing it all. - Today's Dessert: A thoughtful and delicious dessert, even though I usually don't eat much dessert when drinking. Lunch in Midtown! A casual tempura restaurant! Ordered the tempura soba for 1400 yen. Despite being casual, the quality was on par with chain restaurants! The presentation was fancy and luxurious, looked very delicious! The tempura was crispy and the dipping sauce had a nice flavor. However, the tempura was heavy and felt like it could cause indigestion. The miso soup was bland and the pickled radish had a strange taste. I don't think I'll be eating tempura for a while... Won't be going back!

I had a warm soba and tempura set (^-^) The soba might be from Tokyo, not really suited for Kansai people, but I thought it was delicious. The tempura was hot and delicious, with two shrimp which made me happy. The side dish of dried daikon radish was also nice. It's great that they serve lunch until 4 pm on weekends, perfect after watching a play. The tempura at Midtown Hibiya at this price is very much appreciated. Next time, I will go for the tempura bowl.

On weekends, many restaurants are crowded, but this place was relatively easy to get into. I was happy that they were willing to change the tempura set to a tempura rice bowl. Even after eating everything, I didn't feel heavy, and it was really delicious. It's tasty, good value for money, and recommended for when you want a quick and satisfying meal.

I found a stylish restaurant on the 2nd floor of Tokyo Midtown Hibiya that looked like a trendy counter bar, and it turned out to be a tempura restaurant. While the lunch recommendation was tempura bowl, I wanted to try soba as well, so I ordered the "Kamitenrin Tempura Soba, Cold" (1,800 yen tax included) named after the restaurant. The tempura included 2 prawns, chicken, squid, shiitake mushrooms, eggplant, lotus root, green pepper, and simmered egg, all beautifully arranged. I enjoyed it with sweet soba sauce or salt provided on the table. Among the crispy tempura, the prawns and eggplant were especially delicious! After watching a movie at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya 4F, I had lunch here. The seating is a bit cramped with counter tables and stools. - Above Tora Don ¥1600 - 2 shrimp, squid, chicken tempura, simmered egg, eggplant, lotus root, shishito peppers. You pour the sauce yourself, so you can enjoy tempura with salt or sauce. The tempura is fried firm with a thick batter. But with 2 shrimp included, the value for money is good. - Tora 5 Variety Assortment ¥1200 - shrimp, squid, chicken tempura, eggplant, shiitake mushrooms - Beef tendon daikon stew ¥650 - I mistakenly thought it was miso stew, but it turned out to be oden. - Negitoro Takuan ¥690 - I've been enjoying Negitoro recently, so I ordered this. Hmm, even when mixed, it doesn't quite come together. Maybe it's because the pickled daikon is sweet. Thank you for the meal!

Visited "Tempura Tempura Tora Midtown Hibiya Store" directly connected to Hibiya Station underground. It is located on the 2nd floor of Midtown. I made a reservation at 6:30 pm on a weekday. The course was quite filling and I was satisfied. The highlight was the famous oversized tiger prawn tempura, which is over 25cm long! It was so big that it had to be cut with scissors. The batter was crispy and the prawn meat was incredibly juicy and delicious. I enjoyed every bite until the end. Rare creative tempura dishes were served and the atmosphere was really nice at Ten Inu-san. Hibiya Midtown is not only very convenient with direct access to the station, but also has a food court on the lower floors with many delicious dining options. This time, I tried the "Creative Tempura Course" on the 2nd floor! There is also an a la carte menu available, but starting with a course is a great deal and fun. And, there is a wide selection of drinks that go well with tempura, from sparkling wine to wine to single cup sake. I have listed the menu items so be sure to check it out! First, seasonal appetizers, ikura with grated daikon, and a sashimi platter. The appetizers were beautifully presented with rose petals and the freshly shaved cheese melted in the mouth, perfect with the ham! The sashimi was also included. The marinated seasonal vegetables with anchovy sauce were a hit, and the crispy anchovies were like a snack. The simmered beef tendon and tofu were light and easy to eat, with yuzu pepper for flavor variation. And then, the main event, tempura! The daikon tempura with grated yam was a new sensation, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. Highly recommended! The asparagus tempura, salmon tempura, and Cajun chicken tempura were all flavorful, with the chicken being soft and the flavors well balanced. The avocado tempura was a fun experience, not your typical tempura. And finally, the giant prawn tempura, with scissors included! After that, soba with grated yam came as the true finish, followed by ice cream. The satisfying portion and volume were amazing. It's a great deal, with good service and a stylish, spacious interior with counter seats, making it easy for solo diners to enjoy. I think it's a hidden gem! A great find!

On a Sunday, while many restaurants had long lines, I was able to get in right away! The concept seems to be tempura with foam at the counter seats. They also have a wide variety of alcohol on their menu. I ordered the Kamitora-don for ¥1600 and the Kamitora tempura soba for ¥1500. The tempura was freshly fried and crispy, very delicious! I love the simmered egg tempura, so I was happy to see it on the menu. There were many solo customers as well. I would like to try the tempura with foam next time!

I thought the lunch tendon was a good deal before watching a movie. The tempura was crispy and there were plenty of pieces, so I was satisfied. I don't like it when the tempura sauce makes the rice soggy, but they cooked the rice firm here, so it was just right. The staff were also friendly. You can enjoy tempura casually and affordably, so I'm thinking of going back at night next time.

On the second floor of Tokyo Midtown Hibiya, there is a tempura bar where the counter is the main seating area. It was around 18:10 on a weekday and the place was not crowded. By showing a movie ticket, you can get one extra shrimp tempura for free. I ordered a Sapporo Ebisu beer (680 yen) and the Tempura Assortment of 5 (1,200 yen) which includes shrimp, squid, chicken, eggplant, and shiitake mushrooms. I also added on some smelt (380 yen), pork belly with plum and shiso (360 yen), daikon radish tempura in oden broth (530 yen), and a simmered egg (200 yen). The tempura had a crispy batter which was different from my preference, but it was delicious when freshly fried. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and juicy. The pork belly was refreshing with the plum and shiso flavor, and the daikon radish tempura in oden broth was enhanced by the grated yam. For dessert, I tried the chilled beef soup soba noodles (700 yen) which had a thick Japanese-style broth. The beef flavor was not overpowering, making it relatively light. This time, I enjoyed the tempura as a beer snack, but tempura over rice in a bowl (tendon) could be another great option for a meal.

After watching a movie, I visited the restaurant for lunch and ordered a vegetable tempura bowl. The restaurant had counter seats with ample space between them, perhaps due to COVID-19 precautions. I wasn't particularly worried about COVID-19, but I appreciated the relaxed dining atmosphere. The tempura bowl came with miso soup, pickles, and sliced radish, and I believe there were about 6-7 types of vegetables included. For 1,100 yen, I thought it was quite cost-effective. The only downside was that the sauce bottle was sticky, possibly from the previous customer, so it would be nice if they could wipe the bottle after each customer turnover. It can be bothersome if the sauce gets on your hands without you realizing and then transfers to your clothes. However, the cost-effectiveness and taste were excellent, so I would definitely want to visit this restaurant again.

I visited Tempura Tempura Ten'in Midtown Hibiya store! I had the Tempura Five Assortment (squid, eggplant, shrimp, chicken, and shiitake mushrooms) for 1200 yen, along with a TOKYO BLUES Golden Ale and sparkling wine (^.^) The tempura was crispy and delicious! The combination of tempura and bubbles was excellent (^.^) When I came before, it was a standing bar, but now it's a seated restaurant. I was able to enjoy a leisurely and pleasant meal (^.^)

I often go there alone too! The prices for each dish are very cheap, so I tend to order too many different things. But be careful not to overeat because the dishes are quite heavy. It's delicious, but be cautious about ordering too much!!

I took my son to see his favorite drama movie "TOKYO MER - The Movie" at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya to kick off Golden Week. My son used to be afraid of movie theaters, but it seems like he overcame it. The movie was exciting and interesting, with a sense of respect for medical professionals. After the movie, we had a meal. In Midtown, there is a tempura restaurant that offers a reasonable tendon lunch. The tendon bowl comes with two shrimp, vegetables, and the "Joten Tendon" includes egg and chicken tempura, while the regular "Tendon" includes squid and smelt. Personally, I prefer the squid tempura, so I like the regular Tendon. What's great is that the tendon bowls here are served without sauce, so you can choose to add sauce or eat with salt, which is nice. This is a quick and easy lunch option in Hibiya Midtown, perfect for busy business people! The regular Tendon is only 1000 yen, making it very affordable!
