I feel like I went to Jyuban Saryo after a long time. About 10 years ago, I had this childish idea that going to Jyuban Saryo was cool, so I used to go there trying to act all grown up. Looking back now, it doesn't make any sense. It's not like I haven't been there since, but it's not a place I actively choose to go to anymore. This time, I had to go there for various reasons. Of course, I don't mind going there, the food is delicious and the service is great, so I think it's a happy thing. It's a bit pricey though. It's located just a short walk from the north exit of Kinshicho Station, on a street with many catchers, on the top floor of an izakaya building. There are only two elevators, so they were very crowded. We had to wait for about 10 minutes, so it's good to be mentally prepared in advance. When you enter the restaurant, a woman in a kimono guides you to your table. Truly a Jyuban Saryo experience. But as always, the first thing to order is a draft beer and kimchi. Looking at the menu, they have "Yukke" (1,800 yen). It comes with fresh lettuce. I feel like I haven't had this sweet sauce in a long time. Delicious. For the meat, we started with "Jyo Negi Tan Shio Yaki" (3,000 yen). We wrap the chopped leeks around the meat, lightly sear it, and enjoy. I feel like it's been a while since I've had this type of tongue salt. I used to dislike this at the yakiniku restaurant I worked at part-time because it made the grill dirty. And we also added the "Jyuban Saryo Salad" (750 yen), said to be the most delicious at Jyuban Saryo. It's classified as a Chorogi salad, and apparently they make the dressing fresh every time it's ordered. I can tell there's sesame oil, salad oil, garlic, and soy sauce in it, but what is the decisive factor for this umami taste? A eternal mystery. We added "Jyo Kalbi" (3,500 yen) and "Harami" (2,500 yen). Although the prices are a bit high, the fact that all the meat is delicious is what makes Jyuban Saryo amazing. Finally, they also served dessert and warm tea. Warm tea after being blasted by the air conditioning is a nice touch. Let's savor the lingering feeling of having been to Jyuban Saryo on our way back.
