Unlike the cafeteria in the First Building, this one requires payment in advance and accepts Suica. I had the New Tokyo Classic Pork Cutlet Curry, priced at 980 yen. The cutlet was crispy on the outside and tender inside, with no fatty parts. The curry was rich and mildly spicy, in a Western style. It was quite a generous portion, with a salad on the side. The cafeteria in the House of Councillors Members' Office Building still accepts only cash. I chose the popular Chinese menu item, Mapo Tofu. I purchased a meal ticket and handed it to the staff. There are booths reserved for members of parliament or those accompanying them, while the rest are open seating. The Mapo Tofu arrived looking spicy and numbing, but when I tried it, it was delicious! The numbness was almost non-existent. This Mapo Tofu is really tasty. It has a good level of spiciness without being too overwhelming. Putting the Mapo Tofu on top of rice is a great combination. The price was 750 yen for this delicious Mapo Tofu.

Today's lunch is at the cafeteria in the basement of the House of Representatives Second Members' Office Building. Normally, I would go out to Akasaka or Akasaka-mitsuke, but time is limited, so I decided to go to the cafeteria this time without seeking too much deliciousness. This cafeteria is said to be of average quality, according to rumors. In the world, cashless payment is advancing, and the government is promoting it, but it hasn't progressed much in this area. According to the rankings, the cafeteria located on the first basement floor of the House of Representatives' Second Members' Office Building is a good choice for lunch. It is not cheap and lacks a special feeling, but it is interesting. Today's lunch is soy sauce ramen, with seaweed featuring a drawing of the National Diet Building.

The building itself is very sturdy and robust, able to withstand major earthquakes, fires, and accidents. However, once you enter, it feels like a very ordinary restaurant with a menu and taste similar to a local diner. Sometimes they serve whale dishes due to political reasons. The menu is limited, making it difficult to choose, and there are not enough staff members during busy times, causing delays in receiving your food after purchasing a ticket. As for the taste, I have tried various dishes but they all seem quite average. It can be disappointing after going through tight security to reach the restaurant.
