I often used this cafe for meetings with insurance agents or when meeting someone for the first time, but I never reviewed it before. Well, I guess you don't really take photos in those situations, right? I found it convenient that they have power outlets, but today, surprisingly, I couldn't find any around. I ordered the Iced Black Honey Cafe Au Lait for 820 yen, which has three layers. I wanted to take a picture of it. The taste was delicious. However, within five minutes of starting to drink it, my tea arrived. Hmm, the place was getting quite full, but still...

Today, I decided to have breakfast at the Renoir in Takadanobaba. The location is behind BIGBOX in Takadanobaba, a well-known meeting spot. Exit from JR Takadanobaba Station Waseda Exit and head towards the direction of BIGBOX from the rotary. Keep walking with BIGBOX on your right side, and you will see a noticeable sign with white background and black letters. The 2nd floor is marked by Disk Union, so it's easy to find.
What I ordered:
- Matcha milk @740 yen
- A Morning set @60 yen (plus drink cost)
- Toast, egg, soup
The atmosphere inside was quite relaxed. There is a designated smoking room at the back. Although I was a bit late, thankfully breakfast is served until 12:00. I opted for the A Morning set, which allows you to choose a meal starting from 60 yen in addition to the drink cost. I originally planned to have coffee, but ended up trying matcha milk. It was sweeter than I expected, not the best choice for the first drink of the day (laughs). The toast was thick, which I liked. The soup was a bit salty and spicy for my taste. Since the matcha milk was sweet, the combination wasn't the best and I couldn't help but laugh. The boiled egg came with the set, and I struggled a bit to peel it making a loud noise at the table, feeling a bit flustered. I wonder how everyone peels boiled eggs these days, it's become one of my recent trivial questions (laughs). Renoir is a nice and cozy place to relax. It's definitely a comfortable place to be.

I had ginger pork set meal at the Yodo Bridge Market "Iseya" and then came to this "Café Room Renoir Takadanobaba 1-chome store" for coffee after the meal. Until I wrote this blog, I always thought it was Renoir lol. Anyway, Renoir always gives me the image of a quiet and relaxing place with comfortable chairs, and this store was no different. The chairs were indeed comfortable. I ordered coffee from the staff and had a coffee break after the meal. The seating was so comfortable that I almost felt like falling asleep. The coffee was delicious, and the cold water was also very tasty. If I stay too long, I might overstay my welcome, so I should leave the store soon.

On this day, when passing by Le Pain Quotidien, I found out that their Morning Set A was being offered for free for a limited time. And guess what... today is the last day! I had never visited this place before because of its late opening hours and high prices, but I decided to give it a try this time. This restaurant is actually one of the few old establishments left in Takadanobaba. Back in my college days, there were only a few places that still exist today, like the mahjong parlors (Sun, Seibu, Fuji) and Seiryu. This place was frequently used by my college circle. I remember the interior back then had a tiered seating arrangement with luxurious two-seater sofas, but now it has been completely transformed into individual table seating only. The area is now completely flat and spacious, with a separate smoking room at the back. It was like a completely different place from what I remembered. The Morning Set menu had four options, all of which required an additional charge on top of the regular drink. So, it didn't seem as cheap as I initially thought. The A set that I was interested in was... ¥60 (tax included)! I was a bit disappointed by the apparent lack of value. The Morning Service A included toast (fermented butter blend), eggs, and soup. The consommé soup was elegant and comforting. The toast was incredibly thick, making it a bit difficult to bite into. The eggs were slightly cold, fully boiled, with a slightly greenish tint around the yolk. The Le Pain Quotidien Blend coffee was priced at ¥560 (tax included) and had a slightly strong acidity, requiring the addition of milk. The quiet and refined service, along with the carpeted floor, gave off a hotel breakfast vibe. It's worth noting that the prices were on the higher side. Visit date: April 19, 2019

We waited for 2 hours at Seizo's, so we passed the time here. Two of us entered the store. I had a Renoir bitter blend for 560 yen (tax included) and a 20-layer milk crepe for 480 yen (tax included). The smoking room is a completely smoke-separated type with automatic doors that close. There are also stand ashtrays, so you can easily come to smoke even from the non-smoking seats. The bitter blend had a surprisingly elegant American taste. The milk crepe had too many layers, so the cream layer was small and it felt like a Baumkuchen. Balance is important in everything. We had a relaxing and enjoyable time. Renoir also served tea at the end. The towel cloth towel was a nice touch. The service remains excellent. Thank you for the meal.

■Visit Date: September 20, 2018■Items Received・Cold Brew Iced Coffee・Special Morning Set■MEMOVisited a long-standing coffee shop located near Takadanobaba-Toyama Station. This shop has been loved by many for a long time. I visited on September 20, 2018, during a morning visit to Tokyo for work. It's a historic Renoir cafe. It has been around since I started working, so I feel it has been loved for a long time. With full service, it is calm and you can relax and enjoy your time. It has many seats, and the atmosphere is spacious. This morning, I had the Cold Brew Iced Coffee and the Special Morning Set. When you order a drink, you can also order the morning set, and this Special Morning set can be added for an additional 190 yen. I enjoyed a sandwich, soup, and yogurt along with the delicious Cold Brew Iced Coffee. Another busy day of work ahead, so I checked my schedule, and now it's time to get started.■Blog Posthttps://ay-style.net/?p=33407

Until the next appointment, I used the time to enjoy some tea. I always think that it would be nice if the tea was served in a pot with a rotating strainer, as the tea leaves end up steeping for too long and becoming too strong. Also, I just found out this time that you can get a refill for 200 yen.

I chose this store because I'm not a fan of tobacco, so I really appreciate the complete non-smoking policy! The staff were friendly, the coffee was delicious, and I enjoyed the complimentary tea and hot towel service. I had a great time and will definitely be going back.

Renoir has many places where smoking is not separated, and I found it difficult as I am sensitive to smoke, but this store is smoke-free. I often order yogurt drinks at Renoir, they have a unique taste that you can't find elsewhere.

On 18.8.02, I went to a tonkatsu restaurant in Takadanobaba for lunch. Unfortunately, the restaurant I originally planned to go to was closed on Thursdays, so I had to rethink my strategy. I ended up at a nearby cafe called "Renoir." The atmosphere was calm and I noticed many people dining alone. I ordered a cold brew iced coffee for 610 yen and the Morning Set which included a ham and cucumber sandwich, boiled egg, and soup for an additional 140 yen. The iced coffee was a bit too bitter for my liking. However, the ham and cucumber sandwich was delicious with a generous amount of mayonnaise and the bread was soft and fluffy. The set was a good deal at 350 yen for the sandwich and 140 yen for the extras. Overall, the Morning Set at this cafe is a great value. Thank you for the meal!

This is a coffee shop located in front of the station. The atmosphere of the shop suggests that the customers are older, but the calm atmosphere and attentive service allowed me to relax and enjoy my time there. There were newspapers near the entrance of the shop, so I could read while having dessert at the cafe.

There are many Renoir cafes in the city center, and they seem to dominate the market. There are even two Renoir cafes in Takadanobaba. Nearby, there is also a cafe called New Yorkers Cafe. Personally, I find Renoir a bit expensive for what they offer. The price for their blend coffee varies by location, with this particular cafe charging 560 yen including tax. The coffee has a strong acidity, but the quality of the beans is good. It's just slightly better than places like Komeda. The portion size is on the smaller side. It's nice that they offer Wi-Fi and power outlets.
