When working in Tokyo, I often use a tonkatsu chain restaurant. You can enjoy dining at a discounted price with great coupons from the app. For example, the pork cutlet set meal is ¥590 → ¥500, and the pork cutlet bowl is ¥630 → ¥590. All set meals can be upgraded to extra rice for the same price. The cutlets are thick, with little fat, and delicious. I believe it's hard to find a tonkatsu chain that is reasonably priced and tasty like this (^◇^;)

Matsunoya in Kachidoki is a valuable place as it stays open until late at night. Their chicken tenderloin cutlets and pork cutlets are very crispy and delicious, and their spicy dish was also tasty. They had a limited-time offer of lamb cutlets, which I would like to try next time. They also serve beer and lemon sour, making it a good place to enjoy a quick drink alone.

There is nothing special about the 590 yen Rosukatsu Don at Matsunoya. It's a standard size katsudon. The restaurant is about a 3-minute walk from Kachidoki Station. It seems like a convenient place for a quick lunch when you don't have much time to spare. The tonkatsu in the katsudon is of average size and thickness. The batter is pleasantly thick, giving it a fluffy texture. The taste of the broth and special sauce is interesting. Overall, it's neither good nor bad, but for 590 yen, it's a decent option for a quick meal. The location is convenient, which is a plus. Enjoy!

Plat, today's lunch was a stroll around Kachidoki Station. Take the escalator at Toei Oedo Line Kachidoki Station A3b and go up to the ground, then walk straight ahead for a while (turn right at the A3b exit and walk towards Toyomi along Kiyomi Street). After a short walk, you will find "Matsunoya Kachidoki Store" on your left. I entered the store at 2:15 PM on a weekday. Inside the store, there is a ticket machine on the right where you can check the menu. The menu includes various options like their famous pork cutlet set, authentic fried chicken set, delicious curry with pork cutlet, and more. I decided to go with the classic "Pork Cutlet Set" as it was my first time dining at Matsunoya. I selected the regular size for the rice portion on the ticket machine, paid with a barcode payment, received my food ticket, and looked around the store. There were a few solo diners at the counter seats and a few groups at the table seats, totaling 9 customers in the store. After a 9-minute wait, the Pork Cutlet Set was served, which consisted of pork cutlet, cabbage, rice, and miso soup. The set was only 590 yen, which was quite affordable. I enjoyed the meal by trying out two different dressings (carrot and sudachi) and two different sauces (medium-thick and special) with the cabbage and pork cutlet. The pork cutlet was freshly fried and had a crispy texture, paired well with the unique sweetness of the sauces. The meal was delicious, and I particularly enjoyed the refreshing sudachi dressing. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience at Matsunoya Kachidoki Store.

This is Matsunoya near Kachidoki Station. The restaurant is located along Kiyosumi Street and stands out, making it popular. There are often long lines during lunchtime. Matsunoya is a tonkatsu restaurant affiliated with the Gyu-katsu chain Matsuya, known for its low prices. Inside the restaurant, there is a touch panel ticket machine on the right as you enter, and the seating area is at the back. There are counter seats facing the kitchen and tables for two lined up. The tables are often shared during busy times, so the restaurant can feel crowded. The menu includes the basic Rosukatsu set for 590 yen. Other options include the Rosukatsu & Ebi Fry set for 840 yen and the Rosukatsu with grated ponzu sauce for 690 yen. I tried the Rosukatsu set for 590 yen. It comes with rice, miso soup, and the Rosukatsu. The breading is fine and evenly coated. The meat quality is decent for the price, and the thickness of the cutlet is appealing. There are two types of sauce available on the table, standard sauce, and special sauce. The standard sauce is typical, while the special sauce doesn't leave a strong impression. The shredded cabbage dressing with sudachi and carrot was okay, but there is room for improvement. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is crowded with mostly male customers, and the service can be a bit slow. Overall, Matsunoya is a good option for those looking for affordable tonkatsu.

Even during the pandemic, the Matsunoya restaurant in Kachidoki is bustling with customers waiting for their bento boxes. I decided to dine in after coming back from the public bath and feeling hungry. Luckily, there were empty seats available. I tried the limited-time Chige Katsu set meal. It's a new collaboration dish cooked in Matsuya's special Chige sauce and Matsunoya's special sweet sauce. The set meal includes katsu, udon, and a half-boiled egg, and it's so filling that you might not even need rice. Served in a cast iron pot, it warms you up nicely and you can look forward to getting some extra iron from it too.

This is a great morning menu where you can enjoy crispy chicken tenderloin cutlet with curry. The curry complements the chicken cutlet perfectly, with a delicious flavor that gets spicier as you eat. The combination of sweet egg and spicy curry is recommended, all for just 500 yen. Thank you for the meal.

It's been a few months since I last ate at this restaurant. I was tempted by the fried oysters and fried horse mackerel, but this time I decided to try the colorful cheese tomato chicken cutlet set meal. It's a new summer topping with summer vegetables (tomatoes, red bell peppers, zucchini), cheese, and a garlic-infused tomato sauce that feels energizing. The chicken cutlet here is light and crispy, which I like, so I purposely chose this over the pork cutlet. Both dining in and takeout are popular at this bustling restaurant.

The freshly fried cutlet is crispy and light, bringing out the sweetness of the meat. There are two types of sauce available, with the special sauce being sweet and delicious. The fresh, crunchy cabbage is also tasty when topped with plenty of carrot dressing. The rice is also delicious with a good texture. Compared to "Katsuya," the prices at "Matsunoya" are cheaper, and they offer a larger portion of meat, making it a great value. With a wide variety of menu options and consistently delicious food, "Matsunoya" is a recommended tonkatsu restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

The company that runs Matsuya has been operating a tonkatsu specialty store for the past few years. I couldn't have imagined a tonkatsu chain restaurant back in the day, but I feel like they have been increasing recently. The taste is top-notch, with a crispy coating. I feel like it's better than mediocre restaurants. Sometimes the coating is slightly thick, but overall, it's delicious. Thank you for the meal.

It's a bit of a walk from Kachidoki Station, but since it's a Matsuya Foods affiliate, you can casually go in and it's cost-effective! There is a ticket machine right at the entrance where you can purchase before finding a seat. I always have the pork cutlet set meal. The breading is crispy, the meat is thickly sliced, tender, and juicy. Even when it's crowded, the service is efficient and polite!

This is Matsunoya Kachidoki branch. I had the tamago-don for 290 yen. Today was my second time here. I saw my mentor's post and came right away. My mentor ordered the tonjiru set, but I decided to go solo. The dish was prepared by a skilled Chinese mature lady. The tamago-don tasted better than last time. The croquette was freshly fried. It turned out to be a surprisingly good breakfast. Now, I'm thinking of visiting that familiar spot for my Sunday rounds.

Please check the official website or photos for the morning menu here (available from opening until 11 am). This place is not widely available and there is no information on which stores offer it. The egg bowl costs 290 yen and you can change the miso soup to pork soup for an additional 90 yen, totaling 380 yen. Right now, there is a campaign where you can change the pork soup to miso soup for an extra 90 yen (please note that this campaign has already ended due to past reviews). It takes a bit of time to cook, but the hot egg bowl is slightly salty in taste but freshly made, so no problem there. However, the pork soup seems to be a bit overcooked and leans towards the salty side. Well, thanks for the meal.

Tokyo. Stayed overnight for a morning meeting. After the meeting, I had to head back right away. I arrived at the hotel at 11 pm, exhausted. I had a light drink before leaving Sapporo, but now I'm hungry and feeling weak. It's past 11 pm, but I searched for nearby restaurants on Tabelog and found a 24-hour chain restaurant! Lucky! I chose Matsunoya, a place that seemed energizing. It's only a 4-minute walk from the hotel. Even though it's late, there were many people eating in and getting takeout. I ordered the thick-cut pork cutlet set for 680 yen from the ticket machine. It took about 15 minutes to be served, but the presentation was impressive with the cutlet displayed beautifully. For 680 yen, the quality was amazing! I'm not a fan of grated radish, but the sesame seeds were a different story! I enjoyed it with the rich sesame sauce and the cabbage with sudachi dressing. The generous portion of meat was tender and had a great texture for the price. It was crispy and juicy! The meat had more substance than the cutlets at other places. Dip it in the spicy sauce, pour the sesame sauce, and enjoy the refreshing cabbage with sudachi dressing. I felt so happy eating it. I wish there was a Matsunoya near my home. After finishing my meal, I returned to the hotel and slept soundly. It was a satisfying meal!

I had the new menu item, Mentaiko Cheese and Chicken Cutlet Set Meal. The restaurant was as popular as ever, with every seat taken. The Mentaiko Cheese and chicken cutlet were extremely delicious.

When I don't have much money on me, I sometimes go here. The taste is decent for the price, and it fills you up. It's a typical chain restaurant, so don't expect anything special with the rice. But I'll say it again, the cost performance is really good.
