This was my second visit to the restaurant. I made a same-day reservation over the phone. The phone service was so-so - a bit abrupt and the person didn't give their name. Apparently, they've had issues with reservations made by others being canceled. Once I mentioned that I would be coming in person, I was able to make a reservation. When I arrived on time, I was seated at a table by the river. Initially, I thought it would have been better to sit inside as it was still a bit humid, but after a while, a pleasant breeze blew in and it became cooler. It was a moment where I could truly appreciate the atmosphere. I informed them that my companion would be arriving a bit late, and they kindly waited for us to start. We ordered two servings of sukiyaki as soon as we arrived. Here, the staff cook everything for you. The staff member was quite chatty. They mentioned that if we didn't want the appetizer, the price would be a bit lower. The meat was said to be A5 grade, and it was thick and delicious! They served the rice in a timely manner. Each time, they asked if it was okay to prepare more rice. Even though they may seem a bit pushy, they listen to your requests, so if you want to take your time, just let them know. By the time we reached the dessert, the sun had set and it was a lovely time of day. Considering the nuances of Kyoto dialect, there may have been some hidden meanings, but overall, I enjoyed the experience.

The atmosphere may not feel luxurious, but the staff explains everything politely while grilling it all for you. The fresh wheat gluten is incredibly delicious. We ordered the second-tier option, which came with rice and pickles. The meat is sliced into 2 pieces for easy eating. After paying, we received chocolates and sugar candies as a palate cleanser.

I visited Komaitei, a sukiyaki restaurant in Sanjo, Kyoto for the first time! It's about a 5-minute walk from Sanjo Station. I ordered the "Sukiyaki Tsuki" course today, which costs 5,775 yen per person (drinks not included). The course includes appetizers, sukiyaki, rice, pickles, and dessert. The staff prepared the sukiyaki at the table, first spreading sugar on the meat and grilling it, then adding soy sauce. The taste was completely different from homemade sukiyaki because of the quality of the meat. It was incredibly delicious! I've never had sukiyaki this good before! Words cannot describe how amazing it was when I mixed the sukiyaki with the rice. I definitely want to visit again soon! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Sukiyaki with snow (Omi beef) for 9075 yen - 150g per serving for 2 people, with 3 slices of Omi beef per serving. Additional meat can be ordered for 6000 yen per 150g serving. Rice is included. We also ordered udon noodles. The flavor of the Omi beef juices was subtly infused into the dish, and it tasted delicious with just a sprinkle of coarse sugar. While adding extra meat would be nice, it may be a bit costly. Overall, we enjoyed the meal. The restaurant seemed popular among young customers, perhaps due to the autumn foliage season. Thank you for the meal.

Good evening! It's getting colder, and Kyoto is finally starting to relax the alcohol ban due to the pandemic. I recently visited Komaitei for a company drinking party. The restaurant has a long narrow pathway like a sleeping place for Kyoto eels leading to the dining area. The party started at 7:30 pm with appetizers like meat and potato with scrambled eggs, and edamame. The meat was seasoned with sansho pepper and went perfectly with beer. Then, we had sukiyaki where the meat was cooked with sugar and soy sauce before being dipped in beaten raw egg. It was delicious, especially with added vegetables like leeks and onions. The chef's skillful seasoning and cooking technique made the dish even more enjoyable. We also had udon noodles cooked in the flavorful pot, which was my favorite part of the meal. Finally, we had rice, pickles, and fruits for dessert. The sukiyaki course costs between 6655-9075 yen, excluding udon and drinks. This time, the company president treated us, and it was a fun gathering. I recommend this restaurant to visitors from other prefectures as a memorable experience of Kansai sukiyaki.

Introduced by a friend who has a connection with the landlady, we visited this restaurant together. The Omi beef here is a well-known premium Japanese black beef, but the taste of this restaurant, seasoned only with sugar and soy sauce, allows you to fully enjoy the richness of the meat. When you mix the freshly cooked rice and eggs, and enjoy them with Nada's fine sake, memories and stories start to flow. A must-visit restaurant every time I come to Kyoto. Located deep in a back alley along the Kamo River, so keep an eye out for the sign.

Today, I went to "Komaitei" in Kyoto to have sukiyaki. I love meat, so I was really excited to eat sukiyaki, which I haven't had in a long time. The restaurant had a traditional Kyoto-style entrance. We started with a toast with beer. The staff prepared the sukiyaki pot for us very carefully. The first slice of meat was delicious. It was so good that we ordered more. The Kansai-style sukiyaki was really tasty. It was a delicious dinner. Thank you for the meal.

The savory smell of meat grilled with sugar and soy sauce. The Kyoto sukiyaki, enjoyed in a simple and friendly atmosphere, was incredibly delicious. I'm sure they will have floor seating available in May, so I will definitely go back!
