Daily special pork black pepper stir-fry for 800 yen. The black pepper flavor is strong and delicious. This authentic Chinese restaurant is really good. During lunchtime, you can help yourself to salad, soup, pickled vegetables, and sausage. Payment is possible with PayPay.

Beef belly noodles promotion campaign
I'm hooked on beef belly noodles. It seems to be a staple noodle dish in China, but not well known in Japan. It's not usually on the menu at Japanese-style Chinese restaurants. However, it's quite likely to be on the menu at Chinese-run eateries. Since being recommended by a Chinese friend, I've become obsessed and today marks my 6th time having beef belly noodles in just one month. Based on experience, beef belly noodles never disappoint. You can enjoy trying different Chinese restaurants in your neighborhood without having to travel far, which is a great advantage of beef belly noodles. Today, I discovered a new place within walking distance from my home. It's about a 10-minute walk from Tabata Station along Meiji Street. I arrived at 11:40 on a Saturday and there was only one other customer in the restaurant. The interior has around 9 four-seater tables with a decent capacity. I ordered beef and knife-cut noodles for ¥880, with extra vegetables. The noodles for beef belly noodles are usually the soft, thin type commonly found in ramen at Chinese restaurants, but this place serves knife-cut noodles. Let's dig in. Compared to other beef belly noodles I've had, this one has the least thickness in the soup. It's quite light with a prominent soy sauce flavor. There's a slight hint of acidity in the aftertaste. Additionally, the star anise flavor, which is a key element of beef belly noodles, is much subtler here compared to others I've tried. It's not bad, but it feels a bit lacking. The noodles are knife-cut, not too chewy, and have a slight powdery texture. Overall, I feel like something is missing, but the tender beef pieces in the soup are truly comforting, which is the wonderful thing about beef belly noodles. Thank you for the meal.

Around 11:30, I arrived at the restaurant and it was still empty. I sat at my favorite table and looked at the menu. I ordered vegetable tanmen and half-fried egg fried rice. About 5 minutes later, the vegetable tanmen arrived, followed shortly by the half-fried egg fried rice. I started by sipping the soup, then slurped the noodles with the vegetables. The fried rice was hot and crispy, so I sprinkled some pepper on it. I prefer my fried rice a bit moist, so I enjoyed it that way. After finishing the fried rice, I quickly drank the soup and then ate the noodles. All of this for only 750 yen - what a great deal! Thank you for the meal.

In July 2022, for dinner, I went to a Chinese restaurant called "Koryu" in Tabata. The restaurant is located near Tabata Shinmachi 3-chome intersection, just a short walk from JR Tabata Station. I had the evening drink set, which included a drink (beer), pork ear salad, and mixed vegetable stir-fry. The food was flavorful and went well with the beer. I also ordered the Mapo Tofu Knife-Cut Noodles, which was spicy and satisfying. Overall, the food was good, but the service was a bit lacking as I was not provided with a glass for water.

Lunch sets range from 650 yen to 800 yen and come with salad, soup, pickled vegetables, and almond jelly. The rice portion is quite large, more suitable for men, so women might find it to be a generous serving. They also offer lunch sets on Sundays. The shrimp and egg chili dish was not too spicy and easy to eat. The chicken curry stir-fry had tender chicken and a subtle curry flavor, making it quite enjoyable. It seemed like Chinese was being spoken in the kitchen. I heard that the restaurant recently changed its name from "Ajisengen" to "Koryu."

I had the liver and garlic chives set meal for lunch. The dish had plenty of liver and was seasoned just right, making it very delicious. The side dishes were also satisfying, and the portion of rice was generous, so I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal.
