A sweets shop near the down exit of Iriya Station. The shop I used to visit for dining in over 40 years ago has closed down, but I recently found out that it is now under the umbrella of a confectionery maker. Thanks to their newsletter, I rediscovered the familiar shop and decided to stop by. They had several "limited-time" products, and I quickly chose the "<Ghana> Rich Chocolate Cake" for 486 yen. I made a cashless payment and declined the paid paper bag, opting for a free plastic bag from another store with a complimentary paper box with a cooling pack included. I brought it home and enjoyed it as a dessert for dinner. The cake uses 100% Lotte Ghana chocolate, with Ghana milk chocolate in the top mousse, Ghana black chocolate in the bottom mousse, and Ghana black chocolate in the cream on top, garnished with Ghana ripple. It was a perfect collaboration showcasing the taste and texture of Ghana chocolate in a cake. I hope this becomes a regular menu item.

Entering Itabashi Station for the first time, I was surprised to find several chain stores in the area. One familiar spot, Cozy Corner, had its own independent store here. The product lineup was reassuringly consistent across all locations. Their jumbo shoe cream, priced at 140 yen including tax, was just as expected. The pastry was soft and fluffy, with a generous amount of cream inside that was well-contained. The rich cream had a moderate level of sweetness. While the price may seem a bit higher now compared to the past, it would make a great treat to bring as a gift for someone.

In the area of Iriya, the only cake shop that stays open late at night is Cozy Corner. Sometimes, when my housemate and I want to encourage each other and start fresh, we eat cake. It's nice to have a Cozy Corner nearby for those moments! What I had: Strawberry milk crepe (somehow it was 10% off) It was delicious, a taste that I could somehow imagine, a reliable and comforting flavor!
