Today, I was feeling tired from a different type of work than usual, so I felt like having a drink alone. On my way home, it started to drizzle a little bit... but it seemed like it would stop soon, so I decided to take shelter from the rain and visit this restaurant that I had been curious about. I arrived at Yakitori Dai Kichi at 5:50 pm for my first visit, and there were already 2 other customers. I sat at the counter and ordered a draft beer right away, which turned out to be Premium Malts - I was pleased with that. I mainly enjoyed yakitori dishes, both salt and sauce flavors were delicious, and the prices were reasonable. Here's what I ordered today: Premium Malts 490 yen, Lemon Sour 380 yen, Kawashio (salted chicken skin) 140 yen, Sand Liver 140 yen, Chicken Cartilage 140 yen, Triangle-shaped Chicken Meat 140 yen, Green Onion with Chicken 140 yen, and Chicken Liver 140 yen. It was a pleasant evening, enjoying tasty yakitori and feeling a bit tipsy. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Hi! Hi! Third stop (laughs) There aren't many shops open late at night in Saginomiya. I was thinking of going to a certain sushi restaurant but changed my mind and came here. I wonder how many years it's been since I last visited Daikichi... Cheers with a highball~♪ Appetizer cabbage, shiso garlic, pickled cucumber, chilled tofu, sweet potato, and yakitori Overall... the sweet potato was incredibly delicious. I didn't have a great impression of Daikichi before, but the service was good and I really enjoyed drinking here. Oh, this place is great. The yakitori may look cheap, but it was really good. Thank you for the meal.

SOUL SURVIVOR

I decided to try something new, so I took a yellow train to Saginomiya late at night. As expected, there were no new properties in the area, so I ended up at a yakitori restaurant called Daikichi. It was my first time there. The restaurant had small counter seats and tables, and there were young women enjoying yakitori. I sat down and ordered from a friendly Asian male waiter. I had a beer, green onion, chicken cartilage, eggplant with cheese, pork belly, chilled tomato, and more. The owner, a well-built man with a crew cut, was grilling yakitori and chatting with regular customers. He seemed busy but happy. The yakitori ranged from 140 to 200 yen per skewer. The portions were decent, and all skewers were made in-house. The green onion sauce was a bit strong, and the chilled tomato came with mayonnaise. I ended the meal with barley shochu after the beer. I paid in cash, but they also accept electronic money. It was a cozy restaurant with a local vibe.

Mrs. Kami went to a bar in Saginomiya for dinner alone. She decided to go to a place called "Daikichi" that she had seen from the bus. It seemed like a chain restaurant, probably one she had seen in Urawa before. Inside, she was seated at the counter. It was a cozy and nice atmosphere. She ordered a drink called "Staco," which seemed to be a shochu highball. She doesn't like sweet drinks, so this seemed like a good choice. The appetizer was delicious and went well with the Staco. She also ordered the meat tofu dish, which was surprisingly made with chicken, along with vegetables and mushrooms. It tasted great. She then ordered grilled items like Negima, chicken liver, pork belly, and heart. The liver was from chicken, and overall, the grilled dishes seemed average. She ended up drinking about five glasses of Staco, which was very easy to drink. It was a comfortable and pleasant restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Daikichi with my friends and we got excited talking about yakitori. The table was full, so we sat at the counter. The owner and staff were energetic. I had an apple vinegar highball, and my friend had a fig vinegar highball. We started with a salad and toasted to good health. The grilled chicken skewers were served one by one, and they were delicious. I added two more later. I noticed there were more vegetable skewers, but they were still tasty. The bill was affordable, and we could eat comfortably. Thank you for the meal.

When you exit Saginomiya Station North Exit and walk north on Nakasugi Street for about 5 minutes, you will see a shop on your right. The interior of the shop is relatively small with 2 table seats and 10 counter seats, and the folk art-style decor creates a calming atmosphere. There were two couples at the counter chatting with the owner, so they seemed like regular customers. Other customers included couples and families, showing that the shop has a local following. All prices are displayed excluding tax. The draft beer for 470 yen was poured perfectly with fine bubbles, which was delightful and delicious. The appetizer, oden, and cabbage for 200 yen was a flavorful oden and a generous serving of cabbage, perfect for a palate cleanser. The tsukune for 140 yen had a good texture and bounce. The kawa for 100 yen can be grilled crispy or juicy, and I tried both versions. The momo-niku for 120 yen was large and satisfying. The thick-cut bacon was rich and flavorful. The nasu cheese for 120 yen had a western taste with eggplant and cheese. The osatsu stick for 300 yen was a popular choice, with a fluffy texture that is recommended for women. The green soybeans had a great aroma and were a safe bet. The pickled turnip was refreshing and perfect for cleansing the palate. I ate quite a bit at this point, but actually continued to eat more afterwards. However, I only remember up to this point (laughs) Even with all the food and drinks, it was around 5000 yen, so it was a good deal. Although Daikichi is a chain store (or franchise), they prepare the skewers in the shop, so the food is delicious and the side dishes are carefully made. The owner and the part-time staff were friendly and provided excellent service. Most importantly, I was impressed that I could enjoy a perfect draft beer at a low price. I don't often visit chain yakitori restaurants, but I would definitely consider visiting Daikichi if I see one in a different location. Thank you for the meal.

Although it is a chain restaurant, each location has some freedom in terms of menu and quality. Each store may use different types of charcoal or chicken, and make their own sauce. This results in varying flavors among the stores. One standout is the all-you-can-eat cabbage for 150 yen, and you can't go wrong with any order of yakitori. The staff are diligent in grilling the food, and there are other delicious options like grilled potatoes, yakitori bowls, and chicken soup. It's a casual and enjoyable dining experience at Daikichi.

It can already be called a long-established chain. In the past, there were over 1000 stores, all located a little away from the station in places that make you wonder, "Why here?" However, each store still thrives decently because they all stick to using fresh chicken meat, skewered and grilled in the store. The impression is similar to Torikizoku, with a chain-like sauce seasoning. Both Torikizoku and this chain have a variety of unique dishes, not just simple grilled chicken. Among the traditional menu items, there is a soup made from burnt rice balls served in a tea-like soup, but this time they tried a soup rice dish which was delicious! I highly recommend it. There are also new menu items like sweet potato sticks, which are increasing in number.
