I visited the restaurant with my boss (who is from Hong Kong) to let him experience the "cheap and delicious" of Japan. I chose this restaurant because I had heard about it when researching sushi restaurants before, and after some investigation, I thought this place would be a safe bet. I made a reservation three days in advance, just to be sure. The restaurant is located at the back of a building, away from the area where small shops are clustered together. It's quite a unique setup. The menu has English translations, which is helpful because fish names can be difficult. There are two types of omakase sushi sets: "White" with 9 pieces of nigiri, rolls, and soup for 3,500 yen, and "Black" with 12 pieces of nigiri, rolls, and soup for 5,800 yen. My boss ordered the "Black" set, so I followed suit. The contents of the "Black" set that day were as follows: fluke marinated in kombu, gizzard shad, bonito, ark shell, botan shrimp marinated in kombu (topped with shrimp miso), medium fatty tuna, red snapper, marinated amberjack, golden-eye snapper, sea urchin and salmon roe mini rice bowl, conger eel, rolls, red miso soup, and tamago. The restaurant uses red vinegar rice and serves the sushi without soy sauce. After finishing the course, both of us had some room left in our stomachs, so my boss ordered natto rolls and anakyu rolls, while I ordered scallop and horse mackerel. The natto rolls my boss ordered had a similar appearance to the red vinegar rice, making them quite intriguing. We only saw sparkling sake on the menu, but when we asked, they also had regular sparkling wine. We ended the meal with a toast with my boss and some sake! It was a wonderful time with delicious sushi and tasty sake. Thank you for the meal.
