A BAR in Ginza run by a owner who has a connection with Suntory. Despite being in Ginza, the atmosphere is stylish and reasonably priced. It seems like a place you can visit without worrying about the occasion. I visited this place after drinking at another BAR. I finally had the opportunity to taste the homemade tonic water that I had been curious about. When I arrived, the interior was darker than I had seen on the website. The atmosphere was more open than I had imagined. If you're not used to bars, you wouldn't feel too intimidated here. Upon entering, I saw regular customers in the middle of the counter, looking like they were enjoying themselves. Truly a typical Ginza scene. I was guided to a seat at the end of the counter, and for my first drink, I tried the recommended gin and tonic. Being homemade, it had a unique taste compared to what I was used to. However, calling it a gin and tonic might surprise my taste buds. Gin and tonic is a cocktail with a strong existing image. Some people might be better off drinking it with the understanding that it's an original cocktail from this place. While sipping on the gin and tonic, I noticed something. It seemed like the owner had a special connection with Suntory. Old whiskey bottles were displayed in a showcase, and limited edition whiskeys were lined up on the back bar. After the well-off customers left, I moved to the prime seat in the middle of the counter. Indeed, the view from here was great. The best place to sit at a bar is right in the middle of the counter, in front of the bartender. Since there were no other customers, I enjoyed chatting with the bartender. It turns out that the owner has a special connection with Suntory. By the way, all the bottles lined up on the back bar are products from Suntory. What caught my eye among the bottles was the variety of "Hibiki" types. When I asked about it, there were some limited edition bottles. Among them, I was particularly interested in "Hibiki MELLOW HARMONY" and decided to try it. The owner hopes that such drinks are enjoyed by those who can appreciate them. It would be a waste to give them to someone who drinks too much. This is a natural feeling for someone who loves alcohol. Now, as for the taste, I could definitely feel the essence of "Hibiki" in the aroma. Although there was no age statement, the aroma and taste were similar to "Hibiki 17 years". Or rather, I couldn't clearly distinguish between "Hibiki 17 years" and "Hibiki MELLOW HARMONY" myself, which was disappointing. However, the rich aroma that emerged as I drank it was pleasant until the end. By the way, the ripple design on the bottle label is meant to evoke a Japanese rock garden, which is quite fitting. The walls even have the signature of a legendary blender who once visited this BAR, showing the special connection with Suntory. If you're a discerning drinker, trying rare whiskies at this place would be a good idea.
