★3.4【FILE 776】2012/04/03 (Tue) 11:45 Visited a quietly tucked away alley between Gaien Higashi Street and Roppongi Street in Roppongi, where a motsunabe and small dish restaurant opened in February 2011, about 1 year and 2 months ago. They started serving lunch 4 months ago in December 2011. The interior has a calm atmosphere with black and gray tones. There are 26 seats in total, including 2 tables x 2 tables on the left front, 2 tables x 5 tables on the left back, 4 counter seats on the right back, 2 terrace seats outside, and 6 terrace seats. There were no customers when I visited. For the next 25 minutes, it was almost like a private reservation, with only one group of two women visiting at 12:10, making it very empty during lunchtime. The service is provided by one male staff member. The lunch menu includes: Donburi/Katsudon 750 yen, King Katsudon 950 yen, Hire Donburi 850 yen, King Hire Donburi 1000 yen, Miso Katsudon 800 yen, Set Meals: Rosukatsu Set Meal 1000 yen, Hirekatsu Set Meal 1200 yen, Rosu Hirekatsu Set Meal 1250 yen, Shio-dare Rosukatsu Set Meal 1100 yen, Miso-dare Rosukatsu Set Meal 1100 yen, Rosukatsu Curry 1000 yen, Hirekatsu Curry 1100 yen. All items come with miso soup and pickles, and extra rice is free. They distribute 100 yen discount coupons on Gaien Higashi Street, making all items effectively 100 yen cheaper. I ordered the Rosukatsu Set Meal for 900 yen. The Rosukatsu Set Meal was served 9 minutes after ordering. It included Rosukatsu, cabbage, tonjiru (pork soup), rice (extra large), and pickles. The cabbage is eaten with a special dressing, which is very delicious with a tangy flavor. The rice is provided in extra large portions. The tonjiru soup is made with daikon radish, konjac, and pork, with a lightly sweet taste. The Rosukatsu is freshly fried and hot, with a thick and hearty texture. When topped with the thick tonkatsu sauce, it is slightly fatty but crispy and juicy, making it very enjoyable with the rice. Excluding the terrace seats, the restaurant has 14 seats and is cozy. There were only two women as other customers, making it spacious and comfortable. There is a special cabbage dressing on the table. The Rosukatsu is freshly fried and hot, with a thick and hearty texture, slightly fatty but juicy, making it delicious with the rice. Comparing the characteristics with other tonkatsu restaurants are as follows.
