~Tamachi NEW Meat Lunch Triple Feature③~
Although it had been a while since the buzz around the "Yakiniku Like" restaurant, I finally had the chance to visit in Tamachi with a friend. Upon entering, it was clear that the majority of customers were men, but I felt relieved when a stylish lady sat at the table next to us.
As we looked at the menu, I was indecisive about what to order. Should I go for the popular "Quattro Set (Beef Tongue, Shokuniku Kalbi, Harami, Bara Kalbi 200g) for 1480 yen," or perhaps the "Mega Serving Set (Bara Kalbi, Iberico Pork Kalbi, Beef Hormone 300g) for 1200 yen" suggested by my male colleagues? In the end, my friend opted for the "Lean Meat and Chorogi Set (Misuji, Harami 150g) for 1270 yen," while I chose the "Double Kalbi Set (Bara Kalbi, Shokuniku Kalbi 200g) for 1140 yen" along with a side of "Chorogi Salad for 190 yen."
Before our orders arrived, we checked out the "How to Enjoy Yakiniku Like" guide on the tablet. It instructed us to get water from the nearby server, chopsticks, wet towels, and toothpicks from the drawer, and to request paper aprons and rice refills from the screen service. It also reminded us to light the fire and wait patiently.
Beside the tablet were six types of sauces: Lemon, Grated Garlic, Spicy Kochujang, Light Soy Sauce, Raw Soy Sauce, and Charred Miso. I wanted to try them all, but due to limited space on the table, I settled for the Spicy Kochujang and Raw Soy Sauce.
When the meat arrived, we shared and savored each dish. The Double Kalbi was extremely fatty, almost too much to handle. The Shokuniku Kalbi was dripping with fat, while the Bara Kalbi was too thin to enjoy. On the other hand, the Misuji and Harami were exceptional, especially the Misuji. Good quality meat really does make a difference!
Overall, my first experience at a solo yakiniku restaurant was convenient for when you're craving grilled meat. I might consider going back for the Misuji set next time.
