"Enjoying the World of Luxury Tea in Roppongi" This time, I visited the "Royal Blue Tea Roppongi Boutique - The Tea Bar" in Roppongi. The concept of this place is to convey the beauty and deliciousness of real tea, offering carefully selected teas for sale and tasting. As soon as you enter the chic and luxurious interior, you will see a wide variety of high-end teas lined up. The most eye-catching one is the "Ga" tea, priced at a whopping 300,000 yen!! And the most expensive tea in this shop is from the same series, priced at 600,000 yen! It's even sold out... I found an amazing store (laughs). The interior of the shop has only 10 counter seats, creating a special atmosphere. Lunch is by reservation only, with three course options: Matsutake, Bamboo Shoot, and Ume (priced at 11,000 yen, 9,350 yen, and 7,700 yen respectively). This time I tried the 11,000 yen course. First, let me introduce the five teas that were served to complement the dishes (5 Tea Banquet Menu priced at 5,500 yen, all served in a wine glass (70ml)): - King of Green MASA premium - Fall in Love imperial - Uji Matcha The Uji - Queen of Blue Deluxe - Pan-fired Green Tea IRIKA Sapphire When you compare and taste the five green and blue teas, you can clearly distinguish their individual characteristics and differences. Personally, I like the names like "Fall in Love" (laughs). It has a good balance of softness, astringency, and sweetness. The dishes are from the nearby Japanese restaurant "Roppongi Tansetsu," so you can't go wrong. - First Tier: Yuba Sashimi Starting with the firm texture of yuba, the well-seasoned and thick texture is surprising. The wasabi adds a refreshing kick to the palate. - Second Tier: Dashimaki Tamago, Eggplant, Houttuynia Tofu, Black Potato, Lotus Root, Matsukaze, Simmered Shrimp, Okara, Duck Breast, Herring, Decorative Gluten, Pumpkin, Yuba Roll, Crab Stick, Snap Peas, Omi Konjac, Shiitake Mushroom Roll, Tempura Corn. The multiple layers of elegant dashimaki tamago, slightly spicy konjac, juicy duck breast with robust seasoning, and sweet tempura corn are all meticulously prepared and stand out with their unique flavors. - Third Tier: Grilled Fish, Kamaboko, Rikyu Fu, Myoga, Hijiki, Seasonal Mixed Rice, Seasonal Bar Sushi The surprising volume of two types of rice... packed to the brim, exuding a masculine charm that you wouldn't expect from its elegant appearance. The eel bar sushi is the highlight, with a strong and well-balanced seasoning and a refreshing lemon flavor. The contrast with the simple taste of the mixed rice is also remarkable. - Sencha For the final dessert, you can choose from hot sencha, green tea, or black tea to pair with it. Each is served individually at the appropriate temperature. You can also enjoy the change in flavor and the lingering taste of the meal with the first and second steepings. - Dessert The dessert is also exceptional... Inside the elegant and chewy steamed bun, there is a refined sweet red bean paste. I feel like I've glimpsed into a new world. While there are places where you can compare wines or sake, focusing on non-alcoholic, premium teas like this is quite rare! It's highly recommended for people who are not good with alcohol or have strong preferences like me. Plus, if you bring someone here, you'll definitely impress them (laughs). Well... I've climbed another step into adulthood...
