When I visited the restaurant during the Shimokitazawa Open, I was shocked by its hardness. But before I knew it, I realized that I was missing it. As time passed, a second branch opened in Bamba, so I decided to visit. I walked straight on Waseda Street, past Homies. I had already tried lamb in Shimokitazawa, so I decided to try a different menu. Although I was curious about the Beijing Duck Roast Duck limited to the Takadanobaba branch, I chose the Beef Tendon Roast Duck lunch set (980 yen) because the set menu for the Beijing Duck Roast Duck only came with Tofu Soup, while the other Roast Ducks had 4 options to choose from. I was attracted to the spiciness level 3 and ordered the Beef Tendon Roast Duck lunch set. I chose Oolong tea as my drink and Beef Spicy Pho (half) as my side. I remember reading on the website that the lunch menu was only available on weekdays, but I was able to order it on a Saturday. After ordering at the food ticket machine on the 1st floor, I went up to the 2nd floor. It was quite spacious up there. The food was served in less than 10 minutes. The noodles were more like glass noodles than pho, maybe they were sweet potato glass noodles? They had a chewy texture and were delicious. The ingredients included beef, Chinese broccoli, and chickpeas. The soup had a stronger numbing sensation from Sichuan pepper than spiciness. And it was extremely hot. The crispy texture of the Roast Duck, or rather the crunchy texture, was still strong at Bamba. I'm not a fan of the soft doughy Roast Duck, so I was very happy with this crunchy type. The pie crust part may be easy to imagine as super hard. Since the pie crust part doesn't have much flavor, I enjoyed dipping it in the soup until I reached the ingredients. The tender beef tendons may become addictive for those who like them, but I personally didn't enjoy the trembling texture, and I found the lamb more delicious. The green bitterness of the bell peppers added a nice touch. (Although the first time was a bit difficult to eat) By the second time, I had become completely addicted to this crunchy texture, so I plan to revisit to try the Beijing Duck Roast Duck.

Located about a 7-8 minute walk from Takadanobaba Station towards Waseda Street, there is a recently opened Chinese hamburger restaurant called "秦妃 ROJAMO Takadanobaba Store". I visited for the first time around noon on a weekday. It is located a little past Hardee's with a black exterior and pink lettering. There are also other locations in Shimokitazawa. As soon as you enter the store, there is an order machine, and the cooking area is in the back. I decided to try the lunch menu, and there were options like pork, chicken curry, squid, and beef tendon (spiciness level ★★★). I opted for the safe choice of chicken curry. The set came with a half-size soup and a drink for 980 yen. The soup options included skin noodle, mixed congee, wonton, and beef spicy pho. I chose wonton to avoid any surprises. Payment can be made using QR code payments like PayPay.

- Drink: Coca-Cola
- Soup: Half Wonton
Upon moving to the back of the store and going up the stairs, there is an eat-in space on the second floor. The interior is flashy with neon signs, and there are counter seats by the window and about 5-6 table seats. The food was served promptly in less than 5 minutes. The ROJAMO is a round bread-like pastry about 10 centimeters in diameter with filling sandwiched in between. Despite its appearance, it felt heavy when held. I took a bite and found the pastry to have a crispy texture like an apple pie, without any added flavors like butter, making it seem a bit bland on its own. The chicken curry had diced chicken pieces cooked thoroughly, with a complex flavor of curry spices and a hint of Chinese star anise, making it delicious and satisfying. As for the wonton soup... it was unbelievably salty, to the point where I involuntarily exclaimed "so salty!" The saltiness was way off, like adding a tablespoon of salt instead of a pinch. Both my companion and I agreed on this. They need to be more careful with the seasoning.

There is a popular Chinese hamburger restaurant called "Rojaamoo" from Xi'an, located about a 5-minute walk east from Takadanobaba Station on Waseda Street. I visited during the early afternoon on a weekday. The staff, mostly Chinese, were friendly and helpful, with some speaking fluent Japanese. The menu includes various fillings such as pork, lamb, and squid for around 780 yen each. They also offer a lunch set which includes a Rojaamoo, mini soup, and a drink for 980 yen, which I opted for. I ordered the spicy squid Rojaamoo set with mini pho and vegetable juice. The Rojaamoo had a crispy pastry filled with spicy stir-fried squid, which was delicious and quite filling. The soup turned out to be a spicy vermicelli soup, which complemented the meal well. Overall, it was a satisfying and value-for-money dining experience.
