Located right in front of Suntory Hall, this Spanish restaurant opened this year. The exterior looks like a wine bar, so it may not be immediately obvious that it is a Spanish restaurant. However, the food is extremely authentic and impressive. The chef is from Bilbao, which explains a lot. He previously worked at "Gracia" in Hiroo, Japan. The tapas are reminiscent of Basque bars, followed by hearty main dishes with a variety of sauces. It truly feels like being in Basque country. Here is what we had on this day: 1. Pan con tomate - Homemade bread with Iberico ham. The fluffy pan con tomate was delicious. 2. Truffle croquette - A bite-sized taste of a true Basque bar. 3. Marinated sardines - Sardines marinated in ink on focaccia with adobo sauce. 4. Galician-style octopus - The potatoes were layered like mille-feuille, creating a crispy texture. 5. Hokkaido scallop gindara soup - A standout dish of the day with sour cream and apple. 6. Sautéed red snapper - Parsnip puree, mushroom petals, squid ink, and morel sauce. 7. Miyazaki Nan no Shima pork - Slow-cooked at 58°C with romesco sauce. 8. Dessert - Santiago almond fondant with sweet potato gelato. 9. Herbal tea - Accompanied by Cava Moliclos La Soley, and a red wine "Super Heroe 2016" from Galicia, Riberao. The wine had a rich blueberry-like flavor. Despite the current hype around Basque cuisine, it's rare to find a restaurant in the local area that matches up. This restaurant, however, offers a highly satisfying experience with a variety of seating options and separate menus for different spaces. A return visit is definitely on the cards.

I visited Dos Escenas located in Roppongi Hills. The restaurant has a stylish exterior with mirrors and an open kitchen inside. They offer both lunch and dinner, with lunch options including salad, smoked mackerel escabeche, sautéed sea bream, Basque cheesecake, and iced coffee. The food was unexpectedly delicious, truly capturing the taste of authentic Spanish cuisine. I would definitely want to revisit for dinner with wine. It's a great restaurant that makes you want to come back again.

A shop that opened in Ark Hills in the spring. I visited based on a recommendation from a foodie friend who said it's delicious as if you were in the actual place! The shop has a restaurant space and a bar area where you can enjoy tapas and wine. There are also terrace seats where you won't get wet in the rain. The menu includes a la carte options and dinner courses priced at ¥4900 and ¥7800. This time, I opted for the ¥7800 course. While waiting, they served a refreshing lemon mint herbal tea, which was a nice touch. The dishes included: - Pan con Tomate with Iberico Ham: Very delicious! - Truffle Croquette: Soft with a hint of truffle flavor. - Marinated Grilled Sardine with Adobo Sauce on Homemade Squid Ink Focaccia - Galician-style Octopus with Potato Mille-feuille: The contrast between the tender octopus and potato texture was excellent. - Hokkaido Scallop and Gindara Awachire with Gindara Vinegar Sauce, Sour Cream, and Apple - Sautéed Sea Bream with Parsnip Puree, Various Mushrooms, and Squid Ink Mole Sauce - Miyazaki Nan no Shima Pork with Romesco Sauce: The sauce was delicious! - Almond Tart with Sweet Potato Ice Cream: Similar to a fondant chocolat, it melts in your mouth. The Spanish chef, who previously worked in Bilbao, The Ringo in Nishi-Azabu, and Gracia in Hiroo, chose a wine that perfectly complemented the meal. Tapas and wine seem like a fun combination to enjoy!

Before the concert, it's very convenient to have a drink or a bite to eat at this place right in front of the main entrance. However, if you're going to do that, why not go for something like a lovely glass of sparkling wine or some sophisticated appetizers that match the atmosphere before the concert? I think this place is perfect for that. I arrived 35 minutes before the start of the concert and was seated at a two-person table after informing them that I was meeting someone. It was hot, so I started with a beer, which was served in a thin glass with delicate bubbles. The beer was delicious and well-served. Phew, that's a relief! The prices were around ¥880 for the beer, ¥660 for the Pan Con Tomate (garlic and tomato), and about ¥1,300 for the anchovy and spicy sauce Pinchos. The Pinchos were beautifully presented on squid ink bread. I was happy with the generous portion of the Cava wine, priced at ¥1,100. Although it's a bit on the pricey side for Roppongi, the quality and service were good. I would definitely want to visit this place again.

In April, Dos Escenas opened in Ark Hills. It is a place where you can enjoy the taste of authentic gastronomy and Spanish wine in a casual setting. The modern and stylish interior creates a pleasant atmosphere. We sat at the counter seats, where we could enjoy our meal while watching the chefs prepare the dishes in the open kitchen. We started with a toast with Cava. The Menu Omakase (7800 yen) was ordered. When we requested some pintxos, three varieties were served! A Spanish-style omelette with flavorful 36-month aged Iberico pork, sea bream with white asparagus sauce, and tender homemade bacon with aromatic sauce were the pintxos that arrived. All of them were delicious, and our expectations were high right from the start. With a glass of wine in hand, we were in a Basque state of mind and thoroughly enjoying ourselves. The Hokkaido scallop and Gindiaja Gazpacho, which is also entered in the "Spicy Summer GRANDPRIX2023" being held at Ark Hills until August 31st, was a dish made with Hokkaido scallops, green chili pickles, Gindiaja, and a special sauce. The green accents were beautiful, and the umami of the scallops combined with the refreshing spiciness of Gindiaja made it hard to stop eating. The Squid Ink Fideuà was served by the chef, and the rare, moist texture of the maguro in the center, along with wasabi-flavored tobiko and ikura, made for a delightful experience in the mouth. It was my first time having Fideuà other than paella, and I enjoyed the texture. For the main course, we debated between Miyazaki Island pork and beef sirloin, ultimately deciding to share with friends. The restaurant staff graciously divided the dishes for us. The Miyazaki Island pork was moist with a rich flavor, while the beef sirloin was tender and juicy. Both were deliciously cooked to perfection. The dessert was a Basque cheesecake, which I love. The portion was generous, but I devoured it all. It was a satisfying course from start to finish. It's not easy to find a place where you can casually enjoy authentic modern Spanish cuisine. They also have à la carte menu options, so you can easily stop by alone, and it's also recommended for a meal before or after a concert at Suntory Hall.

It's been a while since I visited Ark Hills. Before I knew it, many restaurants had changed. On this day, I went to Dos Escenas, a modern Spanish restaurant and bar located in front of Suntory Hall, for a summer refreshment. The restaurant is frequented by the Spanish ambassador and staff, and even by Spanish people who visit three times a week. The terrace seats facing Karajan Square were too hot, so we opted to sit inside. But by the time we left, the temperature had dropped a bit, and we saw a few foreign customers. The name Dos Escenas means "two scenes" in Spanish, representing the two different atmospheres of the restaurant and bar. The entrance has two doors, with "Restaurant & Tapas" written above the wooden door on the left, and "Bar & Lounge" written above the glass door on the right. However, both areas are connected inside, so it's okay to enter from either side. The restaurant has a simple and chic atmosphere where you can enjoy your meal without feeling too formal, with table seats and counter seats facing the open kitchen. The bar, on the other hand, is covered with hand-drawn letters on the walls, creating a more casual and inviting Spanish bar atmosphere. There is also a lounge area separated by curtains at the back, making it not two but three scenes in total, as explained by the staff with a smile. We started with a pre-dinner drink while waiting for our friends to arrive. Before the aperitif, we were served a Lemon Mint Ice Herb Tea. It was very hot, close to 7 o'clock, so the ice-cold herb tea was a delightful touch to quench our thirst. The drink content changes depending on the season. For the pre-dinner drink, we had Cava, a Spanish sparkling wine. The bottle design with white and gold letters was modern and stylish. It had a refreshing taste, perfect as an aperitif. We had made a reservation for the omakase course (7800 yen) this time, but the tapas from the group's party menu in the lounge area looked so delicious that we asked to change the appetizer to tapas. The Spanish omelette with Iberico ham aged for 36 months was soft and fluffy, with authentic Spanish flavors. The Iberico ham had a delightful aroma and rich umami taste. The sea bream with white asparagus sauce was delicate and elegant. The house-made bacon with paprika and aromatic vegetables sauce was tender and flavorful, with a perfect balance of sweetness. The bread served underneath was delicious on its own, and eating it together helped balance the flavors. The wines were served by the glass to match the dishes. We had a Verdejo wine, which had a herbal and fresh fruit aroma, and a well-balanced refined taste that paired well with the tapas. We also tried the Hokkaido scallop and Guindilla pepper pickles, served with a special green sauce made from Guindilla peppers and dashi, with fresh scallops on top and sour cream underneath. The sauce had a perfect balance of spiciness and acidity, enhancing the sweetness of the scallops, and it was a visually stunning and delicious dish, perfect for summer. We also had the squid ink Fideuà, where the chef showed us the finished dish. It had ikura, tobiko with wasabi flavor, aioli sauce, and rare tuna on top. The Fideuà, a thin pasta similar to paella, was a dish we had never tried before, and it was a unique and flavorful dish that we highly recommend trying during the limited time it is available at the Ark Hills' summer spicy food competition.

The restaurant opened during the pandemic, so the interior was very clean. There was also a terrace seat, where people with dogs were dining outside. They offered a course menu, but since we were two small-eating girls, we ordered a la carte. Each dish was quite pricey. The Spanish cuisine looked stylish and the main meat dish was very tender. The dishes paired well with wine.

Located on the 2nd floor of Akasaka Ark Hills in Akasaka 1-chome, this modern Spanish restaurant & bar offers affordable lunch options during the day and course meals and a la carte dishes in the evening. You can also enjoy tapas at the bar & lounge. The restaurant opened in April 2023 and is a 3-4 minute walk from Tameike-Sanno Station exit 13 or Roppongi 1-chome Station. The entrance is at Karajan Square or inside the building. Previously, a mapo tofu restaurant was located here. During a lunch visit, the spacious and bright restaurant with a variety of seating options including tables, counter, and bar & lounge was observed. The staff provided good service, and the lunch menu included a sandwich set with gazpacho or a prix fixe set. The reviewer tried the sandwich set which included a refreshing melon and pineapple gazpacho and a chicken and Caesar dressing sandwich with carrot salad. The gazpacho had a nice balance of sweetness, acidity, and olive oil aroma, while the sandwich was light and flavorful with a good combination of ingredients. Overall, the reviewer found the sandwich to be tasty but slightly on the expensive side. The reviewer suggested that the course meals for dinner or enjoying tapas at the bar with wine might be a better way to fully experience the restaurant's offerings.

The food is described as delicious, with the pork and beef mains being particularly tasty. However, the reviewer mentions that the restaurant doesn't exude a strong Spanish vibe despite being a Spanish cuisine establishment. The main issue highlighted is the service, with a tendency for terrace seats to be neglected. The reviewer suggests waiting for the operation to stabilize before visiting again.

Night cuisine in Roppongi 1-chome, inside the Ark Mori Building, Spanish restaurant. They have table seating, counter seating, private rooms, and terrace seating. It's quite rare to find a Spanish restaurant that focuses on rice dishes like paella. They offer a la carte and course menus. I tried the 7800 yen course, which included: Pan con tomate, bonito and ajoblanco, sautéed scallops with herb sauce, wagyu sirloin steak with seasonal vegetables, and today's dessert. Each dish was quite good. I wonder if the chef is from Spain. It's not common to find Spanish course meals, so that was a nice touch. However, there was an extra charge for tea after the meal, which felt a bit pricey. The portion size for the appetizer was a bit small, so I would have preferred rice after the fish or meat dish. The atmosphere and service were excellent. I would love to visit again if there are changes in the course menu or dishes. Thank you for the meal.

Invited by a friend for a holiday dinner, we decided to meet at a restaurant. We found a lovely restaurant with an open kitchen counter in the plaza of Suntory Hall in Roppongi. Although the table seats looked comfortable, I prefer counter seats and was guided there this time. They offer both course meals and a la carte options, giving us the freedom to choose. We selected the course menu and decided to have different main dishes, one with beef and the other with pork, which they kindly accommodated. The dishes, passionately prepared by a chef from Spain, were all delicious with thoughtful touches in ingredients and sauces. Each dish had a touch of Spain that was delightful. While Spanish cuisine is often associated with paella, this restaurant offers a variety of Spanish dishes to enjoy. Personally, I recommend the pork dish. Oh, and the desserts were also incredibly tasty without any compromise in quality. We moved to the terrace seats overlooking the plaza of Suntory Hall for dessert, where we could feel the refreshing breeze. Perfect for the upcoming season. The attentive service and meticulous attention to drinks were also impressive. This restaurant is definitely worth a repeat visit.

I went to a restaurant that opened in April and had lunch on the terrace with my dog. The lunch options were sandwiches or a course menu with meat, fish, or pasta. I ordered the fish and enjoyed the appetizer as well. The service from the man who seemed to be the manager was excellent. Although the lunch was a bit on the pricier side, it is a great restaurant for a lunch with friends.

We had the 4400 yen light course, which was delicious and just the right amount for my elderly parents. It was a bit small for my college student son, so we added an extra dish a la carte. The table by the window was a bit chilly, but when we asked, the staff kindly adjusted the air conditioning.

In Roppongi Ichome, the former soba and Chinese restaurants on the 2nd floor of the Ark Mori Building have been renovated in April, with four new restaurants opening. The restaurant that is not a bar seems to offer only set courses, which is quite bold. If you feel like you can't handle a course meal and want to try different dishes, there is a bar next door where you can order a la carte from the course menu. The interior of the bar is clean and they have a wide selection of drinks. However, the menu seems a bit pricey. I heard that the Italian restaurant next door is affiliated, so I plan to visit there later. I started with a beer and ordered bread with tomatoes and prosciutto to go with it. They also had steaks on the menu. The food and drinks might be different if you opt for the course menu, but I felt like this might be a one-time visit for me.

【Prefix Lunch】・Mixed Salad・Green Gazpacho with Hokkaido Scallop・Chicken Breast with Almond Sauce and Potato Puree◯¥200-Lunch Coffee-------A restaurant that opened on March 31, 2023. The restaurant has counter seats and table seats. It's a place where you can easily dine alone at the counter. Due to the pandemic, there have been various changes in the dining options at Ark Mori Building. I used the lunch with my colleagues after a long time of coming to the office. The sandwich that others ordered seemed like it might not be enough for men in terms of volume. The chicken was quite a large piece of meat. There were almond sauce and black garlic sauce, and I liked the strong taste of the black garlic sauce. They also change the cutlery for each dish. The service is solid, subtly adjusting the position of the cutlery based on your dominant hand. #DosEscenas #SpanishCuisine #SpanishLunch #ModernSpanish #Roppongi1ChomeGourmet #RoppongiGourmet #ArkHillsLunch
