During a winter visit, I was told that they didn't have loofah since it's a summer vegetable, so I chose a different menu. This time, I called ahead and ordered "Stir-fried Loofah with Fried Gluten." Loofah may bring to mind scrubbers or skincare products, but it can also be enjoyed as a vegetable. It had a nice crunch and was delicious. It also included wood ear mushrooms and red bell peppers, but the standout was the fried gluten, which had a rich flavor and a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The fried gluten was a real treat.

A friend introduced me to this restaurant, and when I checked it on Tabelog, I realized that I had been there before. I ordered Shanghai specialties such as "Three Yellow Chicken," "Fried Pork with Tofu Skin" (similar to Japanese braised pork), and "Stir-Fried Pork with Bamboo Shoots." The food was delicious, so I wonder why I don't remember coming here the first time. I will definitely come back again!

Shimbashi Station. It's hot today too. I need to grab some lunch somewhere before I pass out at the SL Square. I found the words "Chilled Chinese noodles" at the entrance of Shanghai Fukei. I go down the stairs and enter the restaurant. The interior is divided by partitions. I order the Chinese-style chilled noodles with five ingredients for ¥850. It arrives after a 14-minute wait. In the photo, there is something like Chinese jellyfish in the middle, but in reality, it is red and slightly spicy Chinese jellyfish. Even though it's cold, I ended up sweating a bit. Sorry about that!

On Monday, I wandered around Shinbashi in search of lunch. Today, I decided to try something new at Kuroson. I entered a Shanghai-style restaurant that looked delicious, with a staircase leading down to the basement. The restaurant was set up for banquets with partitions. It was past 12 o'clock, so about half of the seats were taken, and it turned out that smoking was allowed. Despite my initial hesitation, I was drawn in by the beautifully arranged set meals. I ended up ordering the Qingjiao Rousi Donburi after some hesitation. The dish was meticulously prepared with thinly sliced ingredients, generous amount of oil, and the usual egg drop soup. The portion size was sufficient, but I wished they had provided condiments like salt, pepper, chili oil, or vinegar to adjust the flavor. Overall, it was a decent meal. Thank you for the meal.

#Shanghai Style 800 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spare Rib Salt and Pepper Stir-Fry 800 - Strolling around Sakurada Park. Let's eat here. Choosing from 5 lunch menu options, it's a tough decision. The Wood Ear Mushroom with Egg sounds good, but let's go with the Spare Ribs. Hmm, it's a bit different from what I imagined. But still, it's delicious. The saltiness and flavor are just right. It's good. Next, let's try the Wood Ear Mushroom with Egg and Meat.

Located just a 5-minute walk from JR Shinbashi Station (Uchisaiwaicho Exit), this spacious restaurant offers table seating. I tried the Stir-Fried Chicken with Black Fungus and Egg (800 yen). The meat was tender and the sweet-salty flavor made it easy to eat with rice. The portion was generous and satisfying, with almond jelly and soup included for a filling lunch. The 800 yen lunch menu seems to change daily, offering a variety of options to enjoy.

I visited the restaurant at 1:00 pm. There were no other customers yet, but the staff were already working. I ordered the vegetable noodles for 650 yen. They have private rooms and seem convenient for evening visits as well. I received my noodles after a 7-minute wait. The noodles were thin and had a lot of salt, similar to a typical city ramen. Although it didn't have pork, it had plenty of vegetables like wood ear mushrooms, bean sprouts, cabbage, and onions. The soup was clear and slightly salty, reminiscent of ramen soup. The pickled vegetables served on the side were decent. The almond jelly dessert that came with the meal was slightly sweet and had a smooth texture. It was delicious. Overall, the vegetable noodles for 650 yen offered great value for money!

◯ Visiting time and congestion level: Around 12:45, not crowded
◯ Ordered dish: Mapo Tofu Lunch
◯ Impression: Today, I was looking for a one-coin lunch and stumbled upon this place. It was located underground, but the interior was spacious and not too crowded, so I was able to relax. It seems like a typical Chinese restaurant to have a tissue paper box on each table. As for the Mapo Tofu, it was just the right level of spiciness for me, not too hot. The portion of rice was also more than I expected, so I was quite satisfied.

The mapo tofu here is only 500 yen! To be honest, I thought it might be a small portion or have a lot of tofu to fill it up for that price, but it was actually quite filling and delicious with a spicy kick! The accompanying soup is also tasty with a strong flavor. The dessert of almond jelly is a nice little bonus too.

Recently, Tokyo has been experiencing a lack of sunshine, but today the sun is shining for a long time, so feel free to do your accumulated laundry! The weather announcer declared loudly. However, it still looks cloudy (laughs). It's past 1 pm. Of course, the true value of Shinbashi, a night town, has not been fully demonstrated yet, but I like Shinbashi like this. I am not a person who discriminates based on occupation, but when the touts follow you persistently, the most effective response is to tell them to find a better job. I don't think we need to be polite to rude people. I like this kind of Shinbashi. I remember when I used to drink in Shinbashi once a week, I often got into awkward situations when I was drunk and walking to the station. I don't like the aggressive touting battles, but I still enjoy Shinbashi. Today, I went to a restaurant called "Shanghai Style". The waitress noticed me and followed me silently as I walked in. I ordered "Sausage and scrambled eggs" from the menu. The dish had mushrooms mixed in, but I easily removed them. The portion of rice was large, and the soup was a bit lukewarm. The dish also came with almond jelly, which was a nice touch. The bill was 700 yen, which was a fair price for the meal. Overall, the food was delicious, especially the combination of soy sauce and eggs. After paying, I went back outside and noticed that raindrops were falling. Perhaps the weather announcer will have to apologize to the entire nation tomorrow. I don't think it's necessary, but there are many people who mistakenly believe that humans can predict the weather like a natural phenomenon. This leads to a lack of critical thinking in Japanese society.

I have become a big fan of crab meat tofu. Whenever I go to a Shanghai restaurant, I always look for this dish on the menu. I heard there is a place in Shinbashi where you can try it, so I went there right away. It seems like many restaurants offer drunken crab as well. Snow pea shoots stir-fried with edamame and watercress dumplings in soup also have a Shanghai flair. Of course, I also tried the crab meat tofu. But the highlight of the day was definitely the sticky rice cake. It's apparently a staple breakfast for Shanghai locals. I am always amazed by the variety of cooking methods and flavors in Chinese cuisine.

You can enjoy Shanghai home-cooked dishes at a restaurant near Shinbashi Station that has been in business for 20 years. They offer a variety of affordable lunch options, but this time I tried their dish made with fresh wheat gluten. The wheat gluten was delicious.

It was a taste of the real deal. The chicken marinated in Shaoxing wine had a refreshing taste, and the boiling was just right. The bamboo shoots were fresh and crunchy. The seasoning of the minced meat tofu rolls was perfect.

"Wind" ... When you hear it as a noun, it has an elegant meaning, conveying a sense of grace and charm.
