I had a drink at Yataiya Hakata Gekijou. I ordered the iron plate gyoza and salted tripe stew. The iron plate gyoza is served from two portions, but they were small so I finished them easily. The salted tripe stew had more tripe than I expected, I thought there would be more tofu. I wanted to order the bean sprout namul, but it was sold out that day. The salted cabbage with salted kelp served as an appetizer was much appreciated. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this place for the first time. The food was not particularly delicious, but the staff was very friendly and nice! There are many izakayas in this price range, both individual and chain stores, so I thought it would be a tough competition, but I didn't feel that this place stood out in any way. The moderate casual atmosphere gives a nice street food vibe. The interior maintains a good distance between tables. The menu features dishes like iron pot gyoza (319 yen per serving) and motsunabe (small 1518 yen), which are typical of Hakata (although I'm not very familiar with Hakata cuisine). I tried the Hakachiki (1 piece 165 yen), a deep-fried chicken wing labeled as a limited-time offer, and it was quite good, not overly salty like at places such as Yamachan or Tomehane. The crispy chicken skin skewer (1 piece 165 yen) was also delicious. Overall, the menu prices are quite affordable. However, in terms of cost performance, it's a bit questionable. Also, if they claim to be an "izakaya," they should consider offering bottled beer. Having only ale that smells like beer leaves no other options. Personally, I wouldn't recommend the oden (88 yen per item) or the edamame (198 yen), as the oden quality is better at convenience stores and the edamame was still frozen. The fact that the restroom is on the second floor can be a bit inconvenient for those seated on the first floor. After researching later, I found out that this "Hakata Gekijo" has 48 branches in the Kanto region. It seems that the operation is not based in Kyushu, which is a bit disappointing. I also visited "Kodawari Mon Ikka" in Higashi-Yamatocho before, which is part of the same group. There are other dishes I'd like to try, so I may visit again in the future.

My husband returned from a business trip to Hakata during the day on a Saturday evening and we decided to have dinner in Monzen-Nakacho. He was craving gyoza. Oh, maybe yakiniku would be good too, my husband thought. We tried a yakiniku restaurant that we had been to before, but it was full. Then we tried a chain yakiniku restaurant, but that was also full. So, we decided to visit a chain restaurant that I had read about in a review and was curious about. When we entered, we were asked to disinfect our hands and then our temperatures were checked. Since we had driven there and didn't drink alcohol, it was no problem at all. We both ordered oolong tea. We left the ordering to my husband and he chose the following items: Hakata-style grilled skewers - pork belly x2, premium sirloin x2, harami (skirt steak) x2, chicken skin skewers x4, Thick-cut beef tongue (winter limited) 935 yen, Meat tofu 418 yen, Iron pot gyoza x3. We also had an appetizer for 330 yen each, with unlimited refills of salted cabbage with salted kombu. The chicken skin skewers were unexpectedly chewy and had a sweet and savory sauce. The meat tofu was flavorful and juicy, maybe a bit too rich for my taste. The iron pot gyoza was small in size but had a crispy exterior and a moist, meaty interior. Everything was delicious. The service was a bit slow, but it was probably because we weren't drinking alcohol. When we left, they gave us a thank-you note with a Chioti Vitamin drink and candy. It was a pleasant surprise and we enjoyed our meal. I don't think we'll visit frequently, so we didn't register with the app, but we would definitely go back if we have the chance.

Located just a minute's walk from Monzen-Nakacho Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line, is the izakaya "Yataiya Hakata Gekijo Monzen-Nakacho" store. Having lived in Fukuoka, specifically Kitakyushu, for about two years in the past, I sometimes find myself craving Fukuoka cuisine. First and foremost, when it comes to Hakata, it has to be the pork skin! Rolled up and fried to a crisp, I can eat an endless amount of these. And of course, a perfect match with alcohol is the beautifully round gyoza with seared mentaiko on top! While it's delicious to eat with sauce, it's also amazing with yuzu pepper! Ah, it really hurts that I no longer have business trips to Hakata...

In front of Monzen-Nakacho, I somehow decided to have gyoza as my fifth and final stop on the way home. Maybe I had eaten too much, but it actually hit the spot. The restaurant was lively and bustling even at a late hour. The iron pot gyoza was small and easy to eat, making it hard to stop with just one bite. The potato fries were finished by shaking them right in front of us, and the staff was very cheerful and entertaining. I didn't look at the menu properly, so I definitely want to go back again.

Met up with a friend for a drink at the last minute. I was planning on just having a light drink, so I didn't order much, just a draft beer. The glass was huge! However, halfway through, it was lukewarm and flat, so I realized I prefer a normal amount. It might be good for people looking for cost performance. I thought there is an appropriate amount that suits each person. Maybe it's a strategy due to a shortage of staff, so they don't get called back as often. The gyoza was delicious! Especially when eaten with yuzu pepper. They also gave out candy at the end. If I have the chance, I would visit again. I only took a photo of the gyoza.

I was taken to this restaurant by an acquaintance who is a premium member above VIP level. Apparently, if you visit 10 times as a member, you get various benefits as a premium member. It's a chain restaurant, so it's not easy to visit if it's not near your home. Premium members can get the famous dumplings for free in their birth month, the same number as their age. Unfortunately, it wasn't the premium member's birth month this time, so we just ordered the iron pot dumplings. The idea of our elderly club members coming here every month for someone's birthday and getting 70 or 80 free dumplings got me excited, but it was just heartburn. The dumplings are delicious in small quantities, but it's better for elderly folks like us not to overeat. The 1L ale for 1,180 yen is like two large mugs worth. It's nice that it has the aroma of Premium Malt's ale. Considering the brand, the price seems cheap. The iron pot dumplings come in a portion for two people with 12 dumplings for 580 yen. There doesn't seem to be a significant difference compared to other similar restaurants serving dumplings. The Hakachiki for 150 yen was thought to be pork bone flavor, but it turned out to be a normal spicy chicken. It's boneless, making it easy to eat. With free appetizers and the option to change a 1L jug of sour to free, the premium member perks were so good that this is a restaurant to visit with a member.

I often go to this casual restaurant where I can feel at ease. The iron pot dumplings are a bit oily but I quite like them. I tried many dishes, but the mentaiko potato salad was delicious. The atmosphere of the staff is good, and it's an easy place to walk into. I will definitely come back.
