Oimori, located between Oimachi and Kamata on the Keihin-Tohoku Line, is famous for the shell mound discovered by American zoologist Edward S. Morse in the Meiji era. The Yamamizu area, a gentle plateau located to the west of the station, is a high-class residential area in Tokyo where former politicians such as Katsura Taro and Nishi-no-Miya Kimon used to have their mansions. At the end of Yamamizu Elementary School, there is a standalone restaurant called Dairen, which was created by the founder of Ni Hao, Yagi Isao, who came up with the idea of making crispy dumplings by pouring wheat flour mixed with water onto a hot plate based on the recipe for grilled meat buns he ate in China. I visited the Chinese home cooking restaurant Dairen, an affiliate of the restaurant I used to visit often when I worked in Mita. Despite being a high-class residential area, the pricing here is very reasonable. I ordered the following items: Miso ramen for 690 yen, Shoyu ramen for 490 yen, Sesame-flavored tantanmen for 690 yen, Super spicy tantanmen for 690 yen, Vegetable-rich Ankake men for 770 yen, Vegetable-rich men for 540 yen, Spicy sour ramen for 870 yen, Wonton men for 640 yen, Grilled dumplings for 380 yen, Boiled pork dumplings for 540 yen, and Boiled beef dumplings for 690 yen. I ordered the Tantanmen (Vegetable-rich men) and grilled dumplings. The unique feature here is that the dumplings have a mesh-like pattern on their wings. The filling consists of minced pork, Chinese cabbage, green onions, and ginger, with no garlic. It had been a while since I last visited, but I once again found it delicious. It was a delicious meal at a famous grilled dumpling restaurant in a high-class residential area. Thank you for the meal! 。◕‿◕。
