The set typically consists of horse mackerel fry, simmered sea bream, tuna, and amberjack sashimi, along with cold tofu, spinach ohitashi, and pickles. The salad probably refers to the vegetables served with the horse mackerel fry. Rice and miso soup are refillable for free. I used the chilled soup set meal for 1,200 yen during lunchtime! In addition to the chilled soup, I was able to enjoy a little bit of grilled fish, sashimi, and chicken nanban. The grilled fish was salt-grilled mackerel, and when I added the flaked fish to the chilled soup, it enhanced the flavor and made it even more delicious. I was also happy to see the addition of myoga as a topping in the chilled soup. To finish off, I mixed in some white rice and enjoyed it all at once. It was a satisfying meal, especially during the hot season when just eating rice can make you break a sweat. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The sashimi was okay, could be better if they focused more on the fish. There were several side dishes for a balanced and healthy meal. The salad seemed like a 100 yen vegetable pack with store-bought dressing. The restaurant is located on the second floor of a relatively new building, very clean and has a nice atmosphere. The counter seats are a bit uncomfortable due to the height difference between the chair and table, making it difficult to eat rice (be careful not to hit your right elbow on the soup bowl).

Hibiya Fort Tower 2nd floor will open on November 9, 2022! The main store is located in Kitasenju, and it is a chain of restaurants that also operates other branches. As the name suggests, they mainly serve fish dishes, offering lunch during the day and izakaya-style dining in the evening. The lunch menu at the entrance gives a slightly upscale impression, with prices starting at 1000 yen. For my first visit, I ordered the "Chicken Nanban set meal for 1000 yen." The food was served incredibly quickly. The pink tartar sauce caught my eye, which is actually pickled tartar sauce, giving it a pink color. The Chicken Nanban was just a normal fried chicken with tartar sauce on top. I also glanced at the "Today's grilled fish set meal" and the "Tuna bowl" ordered by others, and they were also served very quickly. The grilled fish seemed to be partially cooked beforehand and finished off with a final grilling, while the tuna bowl seemed to have pre-cut pieces placed on top. Additionally, rice and miso soup are available for unlimited refills. I also took a look at the evening menu, which featured a sashimi platter as a recommended dish, and dishes like soba noodles for a finishing touch. The alcoholic beverages seemed a bit pricey. Considering the location, the restaurant seemed average, neither good nor bad.

I wanted to have a quiet lunch, so I decided to visit the second-floor dining area of Hibiya Fort Tower, which was relatively calm with fewer customers compared to the open floor on the first floor. I ended up choosing the lunch set with fried horse mackerel and simmered red snapper for 1,300 yen. The meal was served promptly, with a generous portion including fried horse mackerel, simmered red snapper, simmered bamboo shoots and shimeji mushrooms, and slices of raw sea bream. The fried horse mackerel was crispy but the balance with the coating was not perfect, and the dressing on the vegetables was a bit overwhelming. Overall, the meal was satisfying but slightly pricey for everyday dining. The dining area seemed like a hidden gem for a relaxed meal during lunchtime. After finishing the meal, I noticed that the famous Western restaurant, Cologne, was also located on this floor. I might come back to try their lunch menu next time.

All the dishes were delicious. The sake was also delicious and not very expensive. The oysters today were very large. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would like to come back again.

It was great to be able to drink multiple types of branded Japanese sake even though it was an all-you-can-drink option. The yellowtail shabu-shabu was also delicious.

The fish dish was very delicious. Highly recommended.
