Spending a simple and quiet Christmas at home during the pandemic. In recent years, I haven't been buying the so-called decorative cakes throughout the year. I love cakes, but our household is small, and they take up space in the fridge, plus we can't finish them all at once. Recently, there are more fun cakes available even in slices, which is convenient. This year, I went to Cozy Corner to buy a cake I wanted to try during the Christmas season. I chose the Princess Chocolat cake, while my partner got the matcha chiffon cake. Despite the cold weather, they provided ice packs and packed the cakes with sturdy partitions in the box, so I could carry them home neatly even on a bicycle. My partner enjoyed the matcha chiffon cake with its lightly sweet cream and nice matcha flavor. My Princess Chocolat cake was a cute single-serving decorative cake with chocolate cream, a sugar snowman, and a chocolate house on top. Inside the fluffy sponge, there was chocolate whip with crushed walnuts, giving a delicious touch of bitterness. The snowman and chocolate were not just decorations, but edible too. Cozy Corner is a national chain cake shop located right by the ticket gates at Keio (Odakyu) Tama Center Station. It's convenient to stop by since it's within the station premises. The shop is well-segmented with automatic doors, making the interior warm and comfortable even during this season. The store is quite spacious, offering a wide variety of cakes and baked goods. On this day, I bought three items: Strawberry Shortcake for 390 yen, Crunchy Chocolate Cake for 380 yen, and Cheesecake for 320 yen. The staff asked about my return time, packed dry ice, and were very kind and polite. Once home, I immediately indulged in the cakes. The classic cakes all had a reliable deliciousness to them. The Strawberry Shortcake had fairly large strawberries on top, with strawberries between the sponge layers, giving it a refreshing and tasty flavor. The sponge was moist, and the cream was just right in sweetness. The Crunchy Chocolate Cake, as the name suggests, had crunchy chocolate pieces mixed in, providing a delightful texture. The chocolate wasn't too sweet, offering a more mature flavor. The Cheesecake had a fluffy texture and made a "shuwa" sound when the fork went in, which was irresistible. They use Kiricheese, giving it a rich yet gentle sweetness that was delicious. I would like to visit Cozy Corner again as their cakes are affordable and tasty.

After exiting the ticket gates at Keio Tama Center, if you turn left you will find a Western confectionery chain store. It's somewhat rare to see them in this kind of location, usually they are found in department stores or other tenants. They had a special weekend price tag on their cream puffs, 10% off. So I bought one for 103 yen before tax. They had chocolate and custard flavors, and I chose custard. The choux pastry was soft and chewy, with a nice aroma and flavor. The custard inside was creamy and plentiful, without spilling out when bitten into. There was also a hint of vanilla beans in it. It was sweet and rich, leaving a lingering taste in the throat, but the generous portion and delicious taste made it worth it.

In the summer, they have jelly products, ice cream, and gift items. They also sell cut cakes (depending on the product) for 999 yen for 3 pieces. During Valentine's Day, they also sell chocolates. This store is a great option for small souvenirs or gifts for special occasions. To find the store, if you are coming from the east exit, turn right after exiting the ticket gate and you will see the store. I've had cream puffs and pudding before, but this cake from Cozy might be my first time. The large slice was delightful. The taste was unexpectedly light, with a mild sweetness, perfect for adults. Towards the middle, the cream felt a bit heavy. My friend's chocolate cake apparently had nuts in it. Having cake after a long time lifted my spirits a bit! Thank you & bon appétit.

My son, who finished work early, bought a cake for me. Today is my birthday♪ Every year, he gets a cake from Cozy Corner, but this year he chose a cherry blossom cake with a hint of Japanese style. We had a mango cake after lunch. It was topped with diced mango and cream, with a layer of mango jelly on a sponge base. It was full of mango flavor and delicious! The next day, we had the cherry blossom cake. It had a perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness, with red bean paste between matcha mousse layers.
