On March 20, 2023, I took a day off to visit this restaurant. I had gathered information on YouTube beforehand and aimed to arrive a little after 10 am. When I got there, there were already 8 people lined up in front of the escalator. Wow, it's true. I'm glad I didn't make any detours. Later on, the line quickly grew, and by 10:25 am, there were more than 50 people waiting. It reminded me of the busy days at Tsukiji sushi restaurants. If I had arrived at 10:30 am, I can't imagine how long I would have had to wait. I used this waiting time to write down the dishes I wanted to order on my phone, so I was prepared when I entered the restaurant. Following the information, the escalator started moving at 10:52 am, taking us to the 5th floor and then to the counter seats. I filled out the order form with the 5 dishes I wanted (you can write up to 5 on the form) and handed it over, then waited a bit. As for the taste, I ordered 8 dishes, along with "fish soup" and "chawanmushi." It's hard to say which one was the most delicious. I can't forget the chewy texture of the whelk and the thick flesh of the squid. And the "fish soup" was so delicious, just perfect in its saltiness. And there was so much meat in it, right? I get why people line up. I was already thinking about when I could come back next as I left.

I visited on Saturday. I arrived 45 minutes before the opening, but there were already about 30 people in line. Before the renovation, the sushi was made by craftsmen, but this time some machines were used. I felt that the taste was better before. There were also people who got a numbered ticket without waiting in line. Since there is always a long line, I felt that it is necessary for the staff to organize the line.

The line was so long, meow. I got a ticket before 18:00 and there were 120 groups waiting. I was able to enter at 21:15, just before closing. The food is delicious, but I don't think it's worth waiting like it's Disneyland. Unfortunately, most of the favorite dishes of the owner were sold out, so I will try again at an earlier time. It's so popular that maybe they should consider setting a time limit for the stay. There was a guy who piled up more than 30 plates and kept eating eggs, seems like he really loves egg dishes.

This was my first visit to the Marunouchi branch! I got a numbered ticket after 4 PM and I was around the 50th group, with a wait time of 140 minutes! I actually got in around 6 PM, but it's definitely a very popular restaurant. I tried sea urchin, fatty tuna, pickled herring, medium fatty tuna, seared fatty tuna roll, seared anglerfish liver with sudachi citrus, seared salmon, seared mackerel, scallops on the second floor, botan shrimp, simmered conger eel, live Tai snapper, and miso soup with crab meat... I ate a lot of high-end dishes and the bill was only around 4,000 yen per person, which is really cheap!

Near Tokyo Station, there is a sushi restaurant inside KITTE. It seems to be popular with inbound tourists as there is usually a wait of around 100 groups on weekends. They issue numbered tickets for the waitlist, and you can wander around the building while you wait. Despite being told a 190-minute wait, I actually only waited for about an hour. The restaurant is always full, so the staff must be quite busy, but the wait was worth it. The fish was so tender it practically melted in my mouth. Personally, I think the medium fatty tuna was the best. Thank you for the meal!

On a weekday around 10:40, I arrived at the restaurant about 20 minutes later than planned due to weather troubles. There was a line of about 30 people under the escalator. I thought I might be able to make it on the first round. The line kept growing, but it wasn't as crowded as usual, maybe because it was the weekend(?) Everyone in line seemed to be going here. It looked like it would be busy, so I quickly wrote my order on paper. There weren't many unusual items on the menu. I must get the "Hanasaki Ganigunkan" and the "Toukibi Surinagashi" for dessert. I also like the "Gyuu-Nyu Purin" dessert. It's a hidden gem here. If you like it, I recommend the "Hanasaki Gani Teppou Jiru". If you like it, try the "Nikai Tate Namihotate". Oh, they still have the "Wakame no Karaage". The "Honmaguro Aburi Tsunotoro" might be rare? Overall, there are more seats now, and they seem unfamiliar with taking orders, so it's taking longer for the orders to arrive. So I need to make sure not to forget what I ordered, or else it will be confusing when the dishes arrive. Therefore, my stay ended up being longer than before. But everything is delicious! The toro tasted like eel, kind of. The Akami Ebikonbu Jime... didn't taste like konbu jime much. I forgot the type of corn they had, but it seems to be a sweet variety without sugar. It's delicious. I had it before at the now-closed New Chitose Airport store, so it's nostalgic (*^^*) I realized that they seem to manually input the orders instead of scanning the handwritten order sheets. They mentioned something about not showing up in searches, so that's probably why. Maybe it's easier to avoid mistakes if you write the order in an easy-to-read and official name? Not sure though haha.

I went in the afternoon on a regular day. I checked in, set up to receive a notification, and finished my errands. I received a notification relatively quickly and hurried back. The system was to write down what I wanted on the order slip and hand it to the staff at the seat. I tried both the daily recommendation and the regular menu, but the level of excitement was low. The food was delicious, but it didn't reach an exceptional level. Considering the total amount, I think I would have been more satisfied if I had the sushi made to order at the counter. Thank you for the meal.

It's a good idea to get a numbered ticket early. I went on a Sunday before noon, but there were about 100 groups ahead of me, so I was seated after 3 pm. The sushi was all fresh, and my favorite bluefin tuna and whelk were really delicious. I went on the first day of my trip, but ended up going again for lunch on the last day.

It was about 6200 yen for two people. The parking at KITTE is free for 2 hours. We arrived at 10:20 and were the 10th in line for the 11:00 opening. After us, there were 72 people in line! Just like the reviews said, at 10:52, the escalator group was guided to the 5th floor shops, maintaining a calm and orderly line. A beer costs 660 yen, a highball 528 yen, and sanpei soup 286 yen. We also had sushi, which was okay. It was nice to try flower crab and fatty mackerel that we don't usually have. However, the operation was terrible. We had to write our sushi orders on a paper with our table number and give it to the staff inside, but they couldn't keep up with the number of customers. Some people mistakenly wrote on the wrong table number paper, resulting in the wrong orders being served. It was chaotic, but maybe it was entertaining? On the way back, we bought El Salvador coffee beans (Gorda) at Saza Coffee.

Birthday celebration lunch that I was taken to under the title of birthday celebration. When I said I wanted to eat sushi, my partner found the perfect place for us to go! Our accommodation was in Shinbashi, so it was just right, and we decided to go on the day. We arrived at KITTE almost at the same time as it opened, but when we got off the elevator, there were already about 30 people waiting in line, so we found the ticket and entered about 45 minutes later. I usually don't eat salmon because I don't like fatty fish, but I noticed the raw salmon on the menu and ordered it. It was the best thing I ate that day!!! It was so melty, but the texture was firm and not too heavy, a must-try! The botan shrimp also had a firm texture and a rich sweetness, conveying the freshness! The popular two-story live scallop was delicious, but not particularly impressive, and the bluefin tuna toro nigiri was also delicious, but I couldn't really taste the difference between the tuna and toro. The snow crab gunkan sushi that many people around me were ordering caught my eye, but it was the most disappointing dish this time. The scent of the seaweed was too strong, overpowering the taste of the crab. It was disappointing for the price. Overall, there were quite a few hits and misses, with some being delicious and others just okay, but I think the rice-to-fish ratio was good overall, and the presentation was beautiful! If I go again, I would like to try the classic chu-toro. Also, I completely forgot about the soup this time, I want to try it. The snow crab looked amazing.

TSUYOSHI _1988

On Sunday, August 20th, how are you all spending your day? Yesterday, a special broadcast of "Zawatsuku Kin'yobi" was aired. It was a special competition between different programs. The theme given for the quiz was revolving sushi from Hanamaru in Nemuro. I watched the show and felt like Kamaitachi team mainly had Yamana-san leading the quiz. In the end, Kamaitachi team won the first place in the quiz. For lunch, I went to Hanamaru as introduced in "Zawatsuku Kin'yobi." I lined up for over an hour at the elevator in front of KITTE in Tokyo Station. There was already a line before KITTE opened. When I told the staff that I watched "Zawatsuku Kin'yobi," they said, "You came right after watching it." I ordered the menu items that were introduced on the show. I ordered Hanasaki crab soup, Boz silver treasure x2, Hanasaki crab battleship, grilled flounder, live scallop, red salmon roe, 2-story scallop, Hanasaki crab soup. The Hanasaki crab soup had a rich crab flavor, and I enjoyed eating the crab meat. I really liked the Boz silver treasure and red salmon roe, so I ordered them twice. The Boz silver treasure from Hokkaido was fatty and tender. The red salmon roe had a unique texture and a delicious soy sauce flavor. I ordered a total of 10 plates, and 7 of them were introduced on "Zawatsuku Kin'yobi." Boz silver treasure - 7th place, Hanasaki crab battleship - 9th place, live scallop - 10th place, red salmon roe - 5th place, 2-story scallop - 1st place. The sushi toppings from Hokkaido were longer and allowed me to enjoy the taste of the fish even more. I was satisfied with being able to enjoy authentic Hokkaido revolving sushi. I recommend you to try it as well. Thank you for the meal.

I went up to the 5th floor of KITTE at 11:00 and saw a long line, but decided to wait and was able to be one of the first to enter. They have expanded the counter seats after renovation, so now they can accommodate over 50 people in total. However, the sushi was a bit slow to come out at first, probably due to a lot of orders coming in at once. Before the renovation, the sushi chefs used to make the sushi right in front of you, giving it a live feeling, but now they prepare the sushi in the back kitchen and just serve it at the counter, which felt a bit lonely. Also, they have adjusted the prices, getting rid of the 130 yen and 190 yen plates and now having 150 yen and the next one at 260 yen before tax. Nevertheless, all the sushi had generous portions and were very satisfying to eat. I had squid and garlic chive gunkan, grilled karei, fatty mackerel, raw salmon, medium fatty salmon gunkan, moon-viewing salmon, seared salmon, fresh bonito, and freshly fried zangi. With 2 glasses of draft beer, the total came to ¥4,900, which was a very satisfying lunch experience.

After completing renovation work from February, the restaurant finally reopened in late July. The seating space at the back has been converted into a kitchen, increasing the seating area at the front. Despite the faint hope that there would be few people, we still had to wait for an hour and a half. I recommend waiting in front of the escalator on the first floor before the restaurant opens in the morning. I'm not sure about weekdays, but before the renovation, on holidays, if you arrived at 10 am, one hour before opening, you could definitely get a seat on the first round at 11 am. Prices have gone up, but the cost performance is still good. About half of the customers are foreigners. It seems that there has been a significant change in staff after the renovation, as the operation was quite disorganized and many customers were getting frustrated.

For a while, I think I'm good... When I visited before, I was really impressed by how delicious the sushi was, thinking there's no other sushi restaurant as good as this one!! However, honestly, during this visit, I felt like the taste had dropped a bit. Overall, there weren't as many pieces that I wanted to eat, and I was surprised to see that the hanasakigani soup had become smaller. I went on a Sunday around 4 pm and had to wait for about 2 hours with 80 people ahead of me, so I think it's quite popular.

After the renovation, it was my first time visiting, so I was worried it might be crowded. I intended to arrive early, but it didn't go as smoothly as planned, and I ended up getting there at 10:20. On a weekday at 10:20, I was fifth in line in front of the escalator at KITTE. It's hard to tell how many people were waiting as most seemed to be meeting someone. Just before 11:00, a security guard led us up the escalator. I assume it was to prevent any accidents from people rushing ahead. Most of the people seemed to be heading to the same place I was. The restaurant seemed to have added more counter seats after the renovation. The table with a nice view in the back was gone, and the divided kitchen was now consolidated into one. There were a few tables on the left and right sides, with the counter twisting and turning. It seemed narrow, so I guess each lane had its own server for serving dishes. I ordered my usual menu, but the paper for ordering had been renewed. And when I handed it over, they scanned it to share the order with the kitchen! I wonder how it works - do they send a photo? What happens if it's illegible? Haha. The seasonal and limited menu items were 'Flower Crab Gunkan', 'Uni Wraps', 'Seared Tuna Cheek', 'Fried Wakame', and 'Striped Shrimp Nigiri'. I took photos of the rare and expensive ones. Well, all of them were delicious. And not even expensive. Also, the guy in charge of our lane was handsome and polite. I enjoyed his service. There were some menu items that weren't ready yet, but that's okay. The fried wakame was unusual but tasty. And the seared tuna cheek was so fatty, almost like meat. The uni was delicious, as well as the flower crab and striped shrimp. I also love the octopus and squid ink gunkan. The tsuntsun roll is always a nice little treat. I've known for a while that everything here is delicious. However, the service was a bit slow, and I ended up staying for about an hour. The payment process seemed to be a challenge too, as there was a line. It's only been about 10 days since the renovation, so it's understandable. I'd like to visit at night sometime, but I wonder if that will be possible... Haha.

I went to Namara in Marunouchi, which I also visited in Sapporo. It was quite crowded for lunch on a weekday, with a wait of about an hour and a half. They use a ticket system for managing the wait. I received my ticket and wandered around. I had the sujiko (salmon roe) and teppozuke (marinated fish) set. Everything was delicious. It's a happy experience to be able to taste Hokkaido flavors in Tokyo.

I felt like having some sushi for lunch, so I went to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. As I expected, it was really crowded since it was only the second day after the renovation reopening. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was lively, and when I heard the voice saying, "Our recommended dish right now is tuna!" I couldn't help but take a plate. They had delicious toppings like Hokkai shrimp, Boz silver treasure, Abashiri fatty herring, and Rausu oil flounder. The food looked really appetizing, and it went well with the drinks. The wait was a bit long, but you can pass the time in the building, so it's okay if you don't mind waiting. I wish I could come here more often without waiting, but I can't get used to waiting in line to eat.

The first Tokyo branch of the famous rotating sushi chain from Hokkaido. It's quite popular even now, with several branches open, so it doesn't feel as exclusive as it used to. I waited for about 1 hour and 30 minutes on a Saturday evening, but it wasn't too bad because you get a ticket and can check how many people are ahead of you on your smartphone, allowing you to wander around KITTE while you wait. The sushi itself was delicious no matter which one I tried! The fish was fresh and chewy, with thick slices that showed how fresh it was. It's not your typical rotating sushi quality. Although each plate is not cheap, considering the taste, it's worth the price because it's not typical conveyor belt sushi quality. It was a great meal.

Arrived at 10:00 on Sunday. Waiting for the escalator to operate on the 1st floor. There were about 30 people, so I thought I could go around once, but the counter seats were full. I was expecting it to be really delicious like Hanamaki from Nemuro in Hakodate, but it's completely different. The ingredients are different and so is the rice. It was a bit disappointing given my high expectations. - Bluefin tuna belly: 580 yen It melts in your mouth, high-quality oil. Thick and delicious, but considering it's 580 yen, it's just okay. - Salmon: 374 yen Thick cut, with just the right amount of fat. It's okay considering the price. - Pacific saury: 374 yen Refreshing to eat... not too fatty for the price. - Seared bincho tuna: 462 yen The flesh is soft and disappears in your mouth. The taste is protein-rich, so it's flavorful. The seared soy sauce enhances the flavor. - Seared red shrimp: 374 yen Very firm and bouncy. This is expensive for just one piece. - Greenling: 374 yen Tastes like protein, not much fatty. - Bluefin tuna lean meat: 340 yen Looks like medium fatty tuna. It disappears in your mouth. But is it frozen? It's a bit cold. Not very fatty, slightly fishy. - Two-story scallop: 580 yen Two large scallops with a slight smell and bitterness. Numbing sensation on the tongue. Lacks freshness. Completely different from Hakodate. - Mountain wasabi natto roll: 190 yen The mountain wasabi is quite strong, tingling. Be careful when eating, it can make you choke. But this level of spiciness is good. This one is delicious. - Spicy wasabi roll: 130 yen Leaf wasabi with a strong kick. This is also better in Hokkaido. Total: 3795 yen

I have tried standing-eating before, but this place was even more amazing. I followed the information and lined up on the escalator before opening, but it was already too late. I wonder what time the person at the front of the line arrived? I went about 30 minutes before opening and waited for about 2 and a half hours. The food was served quickly, so you can eat quickly. However, if you get carried away, it can be pricey... The sushi was, of course, delicious. I am from Hokuriku, but there were many different types of sushi, which was enjoyable.
