There is a store right outside the JR Kinshicho Station ticket gate. On this day, I had the adult chocolate croissant. I didn't look closely, but I think it might be a limited-time offer. Although it's called "adult", it wasn't very bitter and it went well with coffee.

I bought some pastries as a souvenir for my grandma at Brange Asanoya in Kinshicho after having lunch there. I purchased Black Honey Anpan, Karuizawa Cranberry Smooth Cream Pan, Lemon Cinnamon Roll, Adult Chocolate Croissant, and White Bread 4 slices. I hurried back home to give them to my grandma.

The reviewer ended up at a bakery in Kinshicho after searching for one. They bought a sandwich for brunch before taking a special express train from Kinshicho. The curry bread is said to be famous, but they decided to try the sandwich first, which turned out to be a disappointment in terms of cost performance. They thought they should have just bought one from a chain store near the station. They plan to try the curry bread next time. When paying, they were only asked if they wanted a bag, and when they said yes, they were charged a few extra yen without any explanation. They thought it would have been better if the staff had mentioned the additional charge. They rated the sandwich as okay, cost performance as average, and the customer service as lacking due to the lack of explanation about the extra charge. They plan to visit again for a rematch with the curry bread.

I visited the bakery after 12 p.m. on a holiday. It is directly connected to Kinshicho Station, so there were a lot of people, but there was a wide variety of bread types. They were all delicious, but I think I would have been more satisfied if I could have eaten them freshly made. The croissant was decent.

The inside of the store is very clean, and there are outlets in some of the eat-in spaces. I tried the salt bread, which was simple and delicious, with a lightness that made it seem like I could eat as many as I wanted. It's convenient that the store is directly connected to the station, so you don't have to get rained on when going there!

My wife wanted to go to the Seria 100 yen shop in Kinshicho. After buying what she needed, she also wanted to buy a snack, so I asked her to limit it to two items. I remember this place used to be Kobe-ya, and the smell of wheat bread was lovely inside. We decided to take the snacks to go because it was too noisy underneath the train tracks to eat there. We got a Pepito for 302 yen, which is a brioche-like bread filled with custard cream and chocolate chips, folded in half. "Pepito" means "gold nugget" in French, and it does look like one. The smaller one is called a "financial" or "financier". We also got a blueberry bagel for 298 yen, which was decent but a bit pricey for a bagel. Combining these with a drink would easily exceed 1000 yen, so it's better for lunch rather than afternoon tea.

At Asanoya, the annual Apple Pie Relay is held. The apple pie, which is only available for a short period of 2 weeks, features apple varieties that only appear during this season. Among them, the most delicious one is the Autumn Apple Pie. The shop at Kinshicho Terumina opens early in the morning and offers eat-in options, making it convenient for customers.

Toast-only bread for 324 yen
The price of 324 yen for two slices of bread, about the thickness of a regular 4-slice loaf, is a bit over my budget for everyday consumption. However, when toasted with a crispy surface and spread with margarine, it was delicious. The surface was crunchy and the inside was fluffy, but most importantly, it had a great aroma. It made for a happy breakfast on a holiday morning.

Around the third month of living a "No pants, no life" lifestyle, I ran out of bread, which was supposed to be a staple. I admit that I have a fickle personality, easily getting excited and quickly losing interest. However, it seems that men may not last long, but bread never betrays you, haha! So, on the afternoon when I ran out of bread, I decided to buy some from a proper bakery. Since the nearby fancy bakeries weren't open early, I had to resort to buying bread from Kurama-ya at Kinshicho Station. I had purchased bread from them before, and although there are now more Maison Kayser and Paul-like options available, Kurama-ya has a decent level of trustworthiness. I bought their "Kurowa" bread and apple juice. I drank the apple juice first, which was quite large, fluffy, and not very crispy, but it suited my taste. It had a strong buttery flavor. I wouldn't go there every day, but as a backup option in times of need, Kurama-ya is reliable. That comforting feeling of having a reliable backup plan.

Kinshicho is personally recognized as a lively town, with various types of people. Interestingly, the famous Asanoya bakery is located in the station. Rosemary Focaccia (280 yen) is a thick, flavorful bread topped with a generous amount of dried rosemary, giving it a simple yet sophisticated look. The assorted bread pack (600 yen) consists of leftover bread from the previous day, which is enough for a family. The Azuki Butter (220 yen) is a soft bread filled with a mixture of red bean paste and butter. The bread is large and slightly chewy, making it worth the price. Overall, I would love to see more stores like this in Kinshicho.

Foodlog score @3.07 This is a bakery located on the first floor of Kinshicho Terumina. After buying a bento at Saboten, I felt like I needed more so I stopped by here. The bread is displayed in a way that can be seen from outside, so whenever I pass by, I always thought it looked delicious. The decorations are beautiful and there are explanations, so I think it's a very friendly shop. I bought several breads that caught my eye and they were all very delicious. Especially the milk French bread is delicious.

My benchmark is 4.0. The store is located in front of the closest exit on the fourth street on the first floor of the station building "Termina 1" at the south entrance of JR Kinshicho Station. Established in Tokyo, the current president, who took office in 2006, turned the summer limited store in Karuizawa that he visited with his parents (the president of Asano Shoten at the time) into a permanent main store. When he took office in 2006, there were 3 stores in Karuizawa and 3 in Tokyo, but now there are still 3 in Karuizawa, 10 in Kanto, and they have expanded to Singapore in the past 10 years. In this space where Kobe-ya Bakery was a long-time tenant, Asano-ya has now opened. The store offers about 50 types of bread and baked goods, with about 30 seats for eating in. There are also about 7 types of drinks available. Purchases: Cinnamon Roll (Lemon) - A summer limited product available in August. They seem to sell it every summer. The scent of cinnamon and the refreshing taste of lemon peel blend well together. Campagne Cranberry & Cheese - A rustic whole wheat bread, Campagne, with cranberries and cream cheese added to give it a countryside feel. Pepito - Asano-ya is known for its stamp that comes with several types of bread. I couldn't resist buying it. Pepito itself is a bread with chocolate chips in a brioche dough that looks like a tie-shaped cookie, but they also have "Pepito Pumpkin," which is made with pumpkin in the dough. Whole Wheat Walnut & Cheese Half Size - A unique whole wheat bread with several types of cheese and a nutty flavor, with a hint of saltiness from the walnuts. Perhaps because of its roots in Karuizawa, there are quite a few rustic-style breads. It reminds me of some other Asano-ya I've been to.

I missed the lunch time a bit, but I had lunch here. The lunch set includes stew with chunks of beef and vegetables, various types of bread, and a drink. The stew is hearty and satisfying, with lots of meat and veggies. The bread is delicious too, making it a convenient option for a quick lunch even when you're short on time.

I went to Asano-ya, a traditional bakery in Terumina. I ordered a chocolate croissant, melon bread, cream bread, and red bean bread. The chocolate croissant was crispy and delicious. The melon bread had a slightly firm texture, not as soft as others I've had recently. The cream bread had a brioche-like outer layer and a good balance of cream inside. It was delicious. The red bean bread had a slightly crumbly texture, but the red bean filling was tasty. Despite being a long-established bakery, they are keeping up with the times and their classic offerings are still delicious. I would like to visit again.

Asano-ya is located right at the entrance of Terumina 1st floor. I had a quick morning set while waiting for my appointment. There were two types of morning sets available, and I chose the Royal Bread Toast Set. It came with salad and a drink for 450 yen including tax. They brought it to me at my preferred seat. The toast could have been a bit more well-done, but it was still tasty as the butter had melted nicely and it was freshly baked. The salad portion was small. The coffee was average. It was a simple and average morning set. It might be better to choose your favorite bread and eat it inside the store. Next time, I might try buying bread for takeout.

【Reason for visit】Today, I was too busy with work to have a leisurely lunch, so I decided to grab a quick sandwich on the go.【Visit time】May 17th (Friday) around 9:05 AM【Number of customers】Around 10 people【Items ordered】"Domestic Onion Rich and Delicious Grilled Curry Bun" and "Ham and Cheese Roll Pie"【Reason for ordering】Just chose what I felt like eating (*^^*)Now, onto the tasting!【Impressions】The grilled curry bun had a slightly crispy outer texture and a somewhat fluffy inside. It wasn't too oily, probably because there wasn't much bread crumbs. The wheat aroma and flavor were subtle, with the curry flavor taking the spotlight. The spiciness of the curry was moderate, not too strong. The sweetness of the onion was prominent, balancing out the spiciness. The roll pie had a flaky pastry with an airy, crispy texture on the outside. The wheat aroma and flavor were also mild, with a faint buttery scent. The cheese on top of the roll pie had a good taste and umami, and the cheese wrapped in the ham inside was flavorful. It had a refreshing aroma. Thank you, Brangerie Asano-ya!

During my trips, I often buy bread from local shops on the last day. Recently, when I visited Tokyo, I often bought baguettes from Asano-ya, which perfectly matched my taste. This time, I visited a branch of Asano-ya that I hadn't been to before. The shop is located in Terumi, directly connected to Kinshicho Station. I bought a baguette again this time. I reheated it the next morning after returning to Nagoya. As always, the baguette was long and thin, with a high ratio of crust to crumb. The crust was crispy, while the crumb was light and fluffy, with a mild taste and no acidity, which I like. Although I always buy baguettes, I would like to try a different type of bread next time.

I stopped by Asanoya in Kinshicho after eating halfway at Kameido Gyoza main store and having a crepe, realizing I might get hungry before bed without a proper meal. It was late, so the selection was limited, but I got a hard type bread with dried fruits and a sandwich. I ate a couple of slices of the sandwich when I got back to my accommodation as I was still a bit hungry, and saved the rest for breakfast the next morning. My child doesn't like fruits or tomatoes, so they only ate the parts of the sandwich they could, while I enjoyed the hard type bread with cranberries. It was delicious with good quality ingredients, even after some time had passed. Although the price is a bit high, it's worth it for an occasional treat. It truly felt like a luxurious Tokyo bread.

I bought two types of bread for takeout. Even though it was after a meal, I had one with coffee and finished the other one quickly. I wonder how many bakeries there are just in front of the station? This is after visiting Kobe-ya. It's a competitive area, but keep up the good work. Thank you for the meal!

Blanc Asanoya bakery located in Terumi, south of Kinshicho Station, is a bakery that recently opened in the Parco building. Established in 1933, the original store was in Karuizawa, but they have recently opened several branches in Tokyo. This time, I purchased some items for takeout from their café.
- Cinnamon Roll: The aroma of cinnamon stimulates the appetite. The icing topping is soft and the sweetness is moderate, making it very delicious. However, personally, I think the cinnamon rolls from Boulangerie Guu are the best.
- Karuizawa White Chocolate: It looks like a regular toast, but it has white chocolate mixed in, so you can taste the sweetness of chocolate. The subtle vanilla and coconut aroma adds a delightful touch to the flavor.
- Chocolate Crunch Donut: A donut with chocolate coating, nut toppings, and cream filling inside. It was a delicious meal.
