I was surprised by how delicious the omurice was. They quickly bring out alcohol, the rice is delicious, and you can smoke at your table, so it's a really great restaurant!! When I drink in Tama Center, I usually come here.

The staff were very energetic and had a great izakaya vibe! They played trendy music, creating a really nice atmosphere.

There aren't really any good places to drink in Tama City. Even after asking a friend who grew up in Tama City (a heavy drinker), he flat out said there's nowhere good to drink there. So, I ended up searching for a place to drink solo, but couldn't find any old traditional bars, just boring chain izakayas. Feeling like I didn't care anymore, I ended up being lured by a catch brother in front of the station and ended up going to the 5th floor of a mixed-use building. There was a sign that said "If you're going to an izakaya, come to my place," so I decided to check it out. Here's what I had: - Cover charge (390 yen) - Draft beer (320 yen) - Corn tempura (290 yen) - Pickled shiba (perilla) sour cocktail (390 yen) - Genki-dama (energy ball) highball (390 yen) The place felt like a spot where students go for drinking parties, not really a place for a middle-aged man to relax (bitter smile). Even the beer was just foam beer. But there were two things worth praising: the pickled shiba (perilla) sour cocktail and the miso dip with the appetizer. The pickled shiba (perilla) was delicious as a side dish, and the meat miso dip with lettuce was incredibly tasty with bamboo shoots. It was good enough to be eaten with rice or like a jajangmyeon topping. Feeling good, I also ordered the "genki-dama comes out" highball, but nothing came out of my body... They even prepared a new toilet just in case something came out, but thankfully nothing did. Well, it's better than having a "red ball" come out.

At the north exit of Tama Center (Keio side), there is a building along the elevated street where Catch appears, known as Yamanote Building. Take the narrow elevator to the 5th floor and you will find a chain-like izakaya. Near the entrance, there are tatami seating with cushions and table seating further back. The overall atmosphere is black-themed with a lively izakaya vibe. The course menu includes appetizers like edamame, cucumber, and salad, as well as hot pot dishes. The hot pot is quite delicious, with a spicy soup flavored with chili pepper and a good amount of vegetables for texture. The food in general is decent and enjoyable. There is a good selection of sours for drinks, as well as beer and highballs. When I visited, there was an issue with the drink orders not being taken promptly, but the service seems to have improved since then. It may be best to visit with a relaxed attitude and enjoy the experience without expecting too much from the staff.

When you exit Keio Tama Center Station, go down the stairs in front of you and turn right onto the street. Walk a little to the right and you will find this restaurant on the 4th floor of a building. Take the elevator to the 4th floor and you will enter the lively atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff are casual in a good way, with a student-like vibe. The seating area is quite small, so it's not a place to relax, but you can easily stop by and stay without feeling out of place. The alcohol selection is similar to other izakaya chain stores in terms of strength and taste, satisfying enough. In recent years, chain stores have been focusing on quality, so in that sense, the ingredients and cooking methods are on par with or slightly below average. However, the prices are cheap. The 3-hour all-you-can-drink option is 2,980 yen (as of 2012), making it a great izakaya in terms of affordability.

I decided to search for a nearby place to drink until morning because I found it too troublesome to search further. This place was open until 5 am, so I chose to go here. It was already my fourth stop for the night, and I arrived around midnight. The elevator took me to the 5th floor where I was directed to a tatami room, where I couldn't move my legs freely. I ordered a draft beer for 290 yen, a plum sour for 290 yen, and added a tuna sashimi for 390 yen. The atmosphere was lively with mostly young people around me, which made me feel a bit out of place. The tuna sashimi was decent, although it had a lot of sinew. My companion, who seemed suspicious from the start, quickly passed out, so we had to cut the night short. The staff seemed a bit apologetic when I paid the bill, probably because of my companion's state. Overall, it was a lively and affordable izakaya popular among young people, with energetic staff.
