"Yuki to yama to mori no sachi" (Snow, Mountains, and Forest's Blessings) - I was lured in by the particularly intriguing appearance of a restaurant I stumbled upon in a back alley on my way back from the Kono Shrine. It turns out it's a limited-time dining establishment until July 22. I guess I was lucky with the timing! Upon entering, I was guided to the second floor through a very charming interior. It seems like they offer delicious specialties from Yamagata. My companion and I ordered the lunch set of soba for ¥1600 and ginger pork for ¥1800. They served us with natural spring water from the Alps as our complimentary drink. The explanation of the side dishes was also very detailed, and the rice, made with Yamagata's famous Tsuyahime rice, was delicious. The soba came with a mushroom broth and the ginger pork contained both belly and loin cuts of pork. The timing of the water refill was also just right, creating a pleasant dining experience. The drinks were a bit expensive if ordered separately, so we decided to visit a cafe separately later. It would have been nice if they offered a set drink option, but unfortunately, it was only available for a limited time."

It's been a long time. Whenever I come here, I get drunk. They have a wide selection of Japanese sake from various regions, and they recommend a sake that pairs well with each dish that comes out. This time, they started us off with Rokusen, a rare sake from Kakunodate, Akita, which is made using a unique method of fermentation. The host is a certified sake sommelier and shares valuable information about the history, geography, and production methods of each sake. The cuisine is elegant Japanese food, and this time we had roasted wagyu beef followed by cold soba noodles for dessert.

A place for receptions. The atmosphere and service are excellent. They see you off to a main street when you leave. The local beer in Hida Takayama is delicious. However, there is a lack of emphasis on food quality and satisfaction.
