I checked out Petit Cern at the recommendation of a post from MyNavi. I visited on Saturday around 12:25. It is located in the Imperial Hotel Plaza. As expected, the hotel is clean and stylish, and the restaurant itself was surprisingly clean as well. It is divided into three areas: Patisserie Gargantua for cakes, Epicerie Gargantua for side dishes and bread, and Cadeau Gargantua for baked goods and retort foods. I visited the area for side dishes and bread. The Cerne bread is priced at 3,240 yen for 2 loaves, but there is also a Petit Cern for tasting. I chose the Petit Cern along with some other bread items. The total came to 2,616 yen. Each bread was carefully packed in a box. I shared them with my family at home. The Lemon Chausson had a flavorful pie crust made with French AOP-certified fermented butter, filled with a refreshing lemon cream and apricots soaked in liqueur. The Orange Chocolate Bread was made with croissant dough, orange cream, French orange peel, and chocolate. The Fran was a classic French bread with a rich custard cream and crispy texture. The Petit Cern was a smaller version of Cerne, with a croissant dough crust and a delicious taste. The quality of the breads truly reflected the high standards of the Imperial Hotel. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

With the renovation of the Imperial Hotel, Gargantua has been divided into three separate locations for baked goods, cakes, and bread deli sections. This was my first visit to the location at the Imperial Tower. It is clean and easy to shop in, but be careful as you may end up spending a lot at each store. I went to buy my favorite blueberry pie, following the route from Kanda Nanao to Echire to Gargantua on foot. Blueberry Pie: ¥864 - This is their signature item. It used to seem expensive to me, but now it doesn't feel that way. The filling is not too sweet, more like a light compote. It is much better compared to the smaller version sold at Tokyo Station Gransta. It seems that a certain size is necessary for the balance. It's delicious even without any explanation. Three Chocolates: ¥900 - A limited-time new product. According to their website, it is a brioche with a perfect blend of sweet and sour cherries, bitter chocolate, and mascarpone cream. The acidity of the griotte cherry works well, and it was very delicious. Flan: ¥600 - Crispy Danish pastry with rich custard cream. It has a vanilla flavor that is irresistible. I could eat it endlessly. Delica Box: ¥1,500 - I found this while checking out on the opposite side of the showcase. It is available only until 13:30 for lunchtime and in the evening. You can choose three items from the deli products and put them in a paper box. I chose honey shrimp, pate de campagne, and scallop and grilled vegetable salad. It has a good homemade taste and is perfect for wine pairing. The pate de campagne is similar to sausage but lighter. The green beans are a bit too firm, but the scallops were well cooked. I had a feeling of overspending in this area, so I left promptly. They also have a bread called "Selune" for ¥3,240. By the way, you can also find the coconut mochi from "Itatsumi Torado" here. It's convenient to buy it here instead of ordering it. I hope they will offer various items depending on the season. It's been a while, but I will revisit soon. It feels like being in a department store basement.

Epicurean delight at the Imperial Hotel Tokyo. No matter which bakery I visit, I always end up buying a croissant. Indeed, the croissant is exquisite and beautiful. As they say, delicious food also looks delicious. It cost 400 yen.

This is a recommended place when you want to eat something delicious quickly. The price is a bit high, but you can enjoy the taste of the Imperial Hotel in a casual setting. The eat-in space is small but turnover is fast. It's just right for 1-2 people. The drink to try is the seasonal Blue Ciel, made with blue curacao and three types of herbs. The Mont Blanc Chausson is a cocoa-flavored pie filled with plenty of chestnuts and is very delicious. It's a great place to take a break before Mari Natsuki's live performance at Hibiya Yagai Ongakudo.

Blueberry pie for ¥864 (9cm). The buttery pie is rich in aroma and has a good texture, with a perfect balance of cinnamon-scented blueberry filling. It's not too sweet, so it's recommended to enjoy it with ice cream. On the 12th of every month, there is a special set for "Bread Day," where you can purchase it along with two other types of bread at a discounted price.

A bread made with cream using French chestnut paste, mixed with chopped chestnuts, wrapped in cocoa pie dough and baked. The surface is coated with syrup for a glossy finish, decorated with cocoa nibs around it, resembling a chestnut. It offers a rich chestnut flavor and texture, combined with a hint of bitter cocoa aroma. Available from September 1st (Friday) to December 31st (Sunday).

I love this bakery. They offer takeout side dishes, and I always buy different ones each time. This time, I bought three items. "Grilled Scallop and Colorful Vegetable Salad" was beautifully presented, like something you would get at a restaurant. It was 122g for 1,952 yen, but the taste was worth it. They really value the taste of the ingredients, so I highly recommend it. "Consomme Soup" was in jelly form, making it easy to carry around. However, on a hot day, it turned into soup due to the outside temperature. They gave me ice packs, but by the time I got home in this year's hot summer, it had turned into soup. It had a very rich flavor, and the clear soup was very satisfying. "Pistachio" is a classic pistachio bread. I love it so much that I always buy it when I come here. The outside is crispy, and inside, there is a creamy pistachio filling that is not too sweet, which is great. This time, they asked me to line up with the item I wanted to buy for the first time, instead of letting me choose and having a staff member follow me to the register. I was a bit confused by the change.

I bought the "Ittatsumitodo" coconut white warabi mochi souvenir at the Gargantua shop in the Imperial Hotel, and it was amazing! I made a reservation for a taste test first, and after the scent of coconut milk passed through my nose, the chewy texture was incredibly delicious! There were 16 square warabi mochi pieces in the box, and even just one had a satisfying amount to eat. I shared half with a friend who lives nearby, and they also agreed that it was delicious. This could definitely be used for important occasions as well.

I stopped by after having lunch at the Imperial Hotel. I bought a croissant for 400 yen, a petit French bread for 648 yen, and a blueberry pie for 864 yen (excluding tax). They were all delicious, but a bit pricey so the cost performance is not great.

Official hotel shop located in the tower building of the Imperial Hotel in Hibiya. Unlike other hotel shops, it offers quality and a selection of products that live up to the Imperial Hotel brand. Today's goal was to try the highly praised Coconut White Warabi Mochi, which is said to redefine the concept of warabi mochi. Personally, I found the claim of redefining the concept to be exaggerated (laughs), but my brain now remembers the Coconut White Warabi Mochi as an elegant sweet treat in a category of its own, distinct from traditional warabi mochi. The refined quality of Japanese sweets combined with the tropical flavor of coconut is a perfect match, especially when enjoyed with rich, hot green tea. Serving this unexpected flavor profile to guests is sure to impress and receive positive feedback.

Enjoy the refreshing juiciness and elegant flavor of domestically grown white peaches in this brioche. The exquisite harmony of white peaches compote with white wine and vanilla, paired with a refreshing mascarpone cream. Topped with a raspberry glaze for an accent, and garnished with pentas and herbs for a cute touch. Price: 950 yen

In French, "mirtillle" means "blueberry" and "pomme" means "apple." This bread is made by mixing blueberry puree into the dough, adding dried wild blueberries and dried apples, and baking it. It has a soft and light texture, making it easy to eat. It pairs well with cream cheese and other spreads.

On December 1, 2021, "Gargantua" at the Imperial Hotel reopened on the first floor of the Imperial Hotel Plaza. The store has been renovated, with an expanded sales area divided into three sections, one of which is called Episserie, focusing on bread products. There are also sweets available. The bread I was interested in was not discounted, but the "Pain de L'Avan (5 pieces)" was priced at 680 yen, discounted to 544 yen. The checkout counter was divided into two sides, and although the reason was unclear, I chose the side with no line. I paid with a cashless payment method at the main bank's checkout counter, feeling the luxury of the hotel as I received a complimentary hotel-style shopping bag. I passed through Ginza, where many people were wearing yukatas for Tanabata, and brought the bread home for dinner. The bread had a rich flavor, which paired well with red wine. The name "Gargantua" comes from a character in a 16th-century French novel by François Rabelais, who was known for his love of fine food and hearty appetite.

I visited "Epicerie Ganguwa" on the first floor of the Imperial Hotel in Hibiya. The place was bustling with about 20 customers on a Sunday afternoon around 2 pm. I love their deli dishes and blueberry pie, so I couldn't resist stopping by. Here's what I got for takeout: Blueberry Pie $864 Agrume $900 Pistachio $850 I originally planned to just get the blueberry pie, but everything looked so delicious that I ended up buying more than I intended. I rushed home and reheated them for tasting! "Blueberry Pie" - It's always delicious no matter how many times I eat it. The simple combination of the pastry and blueberries is just perfect. The buttery pastry is light and crispy, and pairs really well with the sweet and tangy blueberries. I could eat this over and over again! "Agrume" - Another amazing treat. The balance of sweetness, refreshing citrus acidity, and subtle bitterness is just perfect. The brioche pastry was also delicious, and I finished it in no time. "Pistachio" - Rich pistachio cream with a hint of sour cherry and brandy aroma. It was a rich and flavorful treat. Every pastry I tried had a delicious pastry base, with plenty of butter but not overwhelming. The use of high-quality butter and skilled techniques really stood out. Since Hibiya Park is nearby, it might be nice to buy these pastries and have a picnic on a sunny day. They are a bit pricey, but the taste and luxurious feeling make it worth it. It was delicious! Thank you so much.

First visit in June 2023 (No.4583) 1. Purpose of visit - To purchase the ultra-high-end bread "Cerne" that Queen Pandemi was enjoying, as seen on the show. 2. Shop information - Genre on Tabelog: Bread, Deli - Opened on December 1, 2021 - "Galganchuwa" is a hotel shop that opened in 1971 with the concept of "Imperial Hotel taste at home" - Due to a renewal, it is now split into three shops: "Episly Galganchuwa," "Cado Galganchuwa," and this one - Operating hours: 10:00-19:00 - Irregular holidays - Takeout specialty store - The name "Galganchuwa" is derived from the name of a gourmet king in a novel by the famous 16th-century French writer Francois Rabelais 3. Crowdedness on the day of visit - Visited around 12:10 on a weekday, with 2 customers before and 1 after 4. Customer service - Followed the manual for the service 5. Purchased items - Petit Cerne: 616 yen - Croissant: 400 yen The Petit Cerne, a popular item meaning "annual ring" in French, is a bit pricey at 3,240 yen for 2 loaves. However, I was informed by the staff that they have a sample size called "Petit Cerne," so I decided to buy it. The bread is a croissant dough baked product made with high-quality ingredients like fragrant Canadian wheat flour, French fermented butter, and honey from Tama, Tokyo. It's a delicious treat with a strong buttery flavor. The croissant, with its honeycomb-like cross-section, is also a delight. Thank you for the meal.

Coconut White Warabi Mochi from Ittatsu Midado is my favorite among the sweets I recently discovered! I have already repurchased it. The first ingredient is warabi powder, and the second is coconut milk, creating a rich coconut flavor and a chewy texture that is superb. Since it is not widely available, it makes a perfect gift if the budget allows. The limited-time Deli Box is a great deal, where you can choose any three items you want. The Garlic Shrimp, a collaboration with Halekulani, was very delicious.

Croissant, Pain au Chocolat Orange, Agrume, and Asparagus and Bacon Quiche were purchased. The croissant was crispy and flaky. The Pain au Chocolat Orange was exceptionally beautiful and had a unique orange flavor, super crispy and flaky. The Agrume was a citrus fruit-filled Danish perfect for this season, with oranges, grapefruits, pink grapefruits, and other fruits. Despite the abundance of fresh fruits, the Danish pastry was still crispy and delicious. The Asparagus and Bacon Quiche, when reheated in the oven, had a crispy exterior with a delicious blend of asparagus and bacon flavors. On the other side of the showcase, there were also cute burger-style sandwiches that caught my eye.

I originally wanted to buy the Yashi no Shirawabi Mochi from Ittatsu Midado, but I had to refrigerate it for 3 hours, so I gave up. They don't offer delivery either. I decided to give up on takeout and try it in the store first. It was delicious, delicious! It's no wonder it's sold out on their official website.

Croissant with a rich buttery aroma, complemented by the perfect pairing of macadamia nuts and chocolate with a salted caramel ganache that adds a touch of saltiness. The luxurious taste of dark chocolate is irresistible. The Pineapple Prioche, inspired by Hawaii, uses pineapple and coconut to create a unique pastry with a delightful crunchy texture of pineapple.

On Mother's Day, May 14th (Sunday), I had lunch with my mother at Tokyo Midtown Hibiya, and then we took a stroll to the nearby Imperial Hotel's Gargantua. We decided to visit a restaurant we've been to before to make my mother feel more at ease. The cakes next door can sometimes be hit or miss, but the deli and bread are always delicious!! (Separating cakes, deli bread, and gift items is a hassle, but I don't like it...) Everything was empty on Mother's Day, so we were able to enter the store in about 30 seconds. We glanced at the bread and headed to the deli section! We bought dinner. Since we were full from lunch, we opted for the scallop gratin with noodles for 1,382 yen each, salmon marinated salad for 1,296 yen, sausage croissant (forgot the name) for 860 yen each, pineapple brioche for 750 yen, and macadamia nut petit bread (5 pieces) for 700 yen, totaling 7,230 yen. I was torn between shrimp and scallops for the gratin, but I'm glad I chose scallops! It had plenty of scallops and the right amount of milk and noodles. The marinated salmon was served on top of the salad. The seasoning was great. The sausage croissant bread was for breakfast. It had mashed potatoes on top! The sausage was also delicious! The pineapple brioche was shared with my mother. We heated it on the grill, slightly toasted the edges, cut it, and ate it. It was so delicious! I will definitely buy it again (laughs). I put the macadamia nut petit bread in the freezer because I couldn't eat it right away. I tend to buy a lot, but this time I restrained myself (laughs). It's not cheap, but if it's this delicious, it's worth it. We don't go there often, and my mother enjoyed it, so it's all good! Thank you for the meal!
