I visited a sushi restaurant for a birthday celebration of someone who loves sushi so much they always wanted to go there. I asked for a recommendation from the owner, Mr. Kogure, and enjoyed a glass of Z Junmai Ginjo as my first drink. The pickled ginger made by Mr. Kogure was delicious as always. The sushi rice this time was exceptionally good. For my second drink, I had AKABU Junmai SEA, which was also delicious. This sushi feast continued with a crab dish, tuna (chutoro and jabara), and anago. The foie gras at Mr. Kogure's place is truly exceptional, so if it's available, I highly recommend trying it. The anago was so tender and melted in my mouth. I cannot stress enough how delicious Mr. Kogure's foie gras is, so please make sure to try it. He also kindly served a special foie gras dish for the birthday celebration, which was greatly appreciated.

The hidden sushi gem at a bar in Roppongi was amazing! The photo is a bit out of focus, but the quality of the fish was outstanding. The variety of fish was impressive, especially the sardines during this season. The chef really set the bar high, allowing us to enjoy the delicious sardines. The fish had a nice amount of fat and absolutely no fishy smell. I had the 12-piece nigiri course for 6,000 yen, and it was definitely worth the price. The sushi here rivals those high-end sushi restaurants in Minato Ward. The ambiance with loud Western music playing adds to the casual vibe. The service was relaxed but attentive. I highly recommend the Omakase Mugen course for 6,000 yen. The menu included various types of fish like sea bream, squid, bonito, red snapper, shrimp, horse mackerel, mackerel, fatty tuna, baby gizzard shad, conger eel, and scallops. #sushibarmugen #sushibar #RoppongiGourmet #RoppongiDinner #RoppongiIchomeGourmet #SardinesDuringRainySeason #SushiInstagram #ConnectingWithSushiLovers #SushiGram #ConnectingWithSushiLovers #FoodPorn #SushiPorn #FoodieGirls #SushiLover #SushiTime #TokyoSushi #TokyoFoodie #JapaneseFood

I had some reverse-imported sushi made by a chef who trained in NY at a sophisticated and stylish counter. Not only the sushi, but also the small dishes were all incredibly delicious, and I encountered the most stylish pickled ginger ever. haha. Every dish was made with carefully selected ingredients and all were incredibly delicious, but personally, I loved the squid the most!

※Remembering with a critical eye, read with caution. A sushi restaurant that caught my attention from the strange time when it was borrowing space from a bar in Ebisu! The course is less than 10,000 yen, so it's still popular as ever. The pickled ginger that came out first is basically just pickles, right? (laughs) I thought maybe fusion dishes would come out after that, but it was more traditional. It wasn't bad. However, the owner may be shy... maybe due to recovering from an injury, they only had a toast with alcohol, didn't try to increase the bill by adding more food, and didn't even say "please come again" to me, who was sitting alone (laughs). The guy who did some research on Instagram, the couple who were drinking buddies, and the couple from the same hometown all had something to talk about, unlike me. But at least say hello... I regret not paying the cancellation fee if I was going to use a round-trip taxi. It's cheap and not bad, but if you can't score extra points with service, then that's it...

The atmosphere is not bad. The technology and taste are average. Regular customers seem to like it. When asked if they have wine, they replied without making eye contact, saying, "No, we don't have any." I was surprised. The entrance of the restaurant is designed to give off a stylish vibe. They play music by Japanese artists inside, creating a trendy street culture atmosphere. While that aspect is interesting and good, basic customer service is necessary, and there are various doubts about the high ratings of this restaurant.

I had a great time on my regular date with my friend. The lineup of dishes was excellent, especially the low-temperature cooked foie gras and oysters. The foie gras was beyond amazing, and I don't think I'll ever find one better. The raw mackerel and firefly squid namero, as well as the oyster sushi, were also incredibly delicious. I will definitely be back soon!

"SushiBarMugen" is an amazing sushi bar that has relocated from Ebisu to Roppongi 1-chome. I visited the restaurant in March for a sake tasting event and was impressed. The restaurant can be a bit hard to find as it is tucked away in a back alley, but the cozy atmosphere and delicious sushi make it worth the search. The chef, originally from Chiba, is friendly and creates exquisite Edo-style sushi. The courses are reasonably priced and the music pairing adds a unique touch to the dining experience. Overall, it's a refined and relaxing place to enjoy high-quality sushi.

I heard a rumor from a gourmet acquaintance and decided to visit this place. The bar turned into a sushi restaurant with only a counter, which has a hidden and stylish charm. They serve pickled vegetables instead of ginger, and overall it's a trendy place where you can enjoy sushi for around 10,000 yen on a date. However, I didn't find it to be as cost-effective as I had heard, as they didn't have luxury ingredients like sea urchin or salmon roe. The rice was a bit firm, which may not suit everyone's taste. Despite this, I felt intrigued and would consider going back to give it another try. It's a unique sushi restaurant with an interesting atmosphere, so I think it's worth a visit if you're curious.

I visited on a Saturday night. I have allergies to blue fish, and I don't like eel or shellfish, but the restaurant provided a menu that avoided my allergies and dislikes. The course started with seasonal spring snapper, followed by medium fatty tuna, red snapper, sumi squid, fatty tuna, and golden eye snapper roll, among others. Each of the 12 pieces, along with the egg and miso soup, was very delicious. The sushi rice was on the firmer side, which may be a matter of preference. The seasonal sake, spring sake, was also delicious.

I finally visited Sushi Bar Mugen, and I was impressed by the cost performance. For 11000 yen, I got 16 pieces of sushi, 4 appetizers, tamagoyaki, and miso soup, totaling 22 items. The sushi included kohada, sayori, red snapper, ark shell, horse mackerel, flatfish, tuna, marinated red snapper with rape blossoms, oysters, ankimo, squid with eggs, firefly squid, saury, barracuda, blackthroat seaperch, butterfish, grunt, shrimp, blackthroat seaperch, conger eel, ankimo roll (extra), tamago, and miso soup. It was a delicious meal.

The shop that moved from Ebisu to Roppongi-ichome is amazing! Its name is SushiBarMugen. I visited for the second time in December! Currently, reservations can be made through Tabelog. It may be difficult to get a reservation, but it's a shop I highly recommend visiting. Located about a 4-minute walk from Roppongi-ichome Station, tucked away in a back alley. The interior has a cozy atmosphere with only 8 counter seats. The chef, originally from Chiba Prefecture, is very friendly and creates a relaxed atmosphere. The courses consist of sushi and appetizers, with prices ranging from 6,000 to 13,000 yen. The sushi is carefully prepared and the music pairing adds to the experience. Overall, a refined and relaxing place to enjoy authentic Edo-style sushi. Highly recommended!

A shop that has relocated from Ebisu to Roppongi Ichome is amazing! Its name is SushiBarMugen. I visit regularly and made a reservation in December through a friend. Reservations can now be made through Tabelog. It may be difficult to get a reservation, but it is a shop that I highly recommend visiting. Located about a 4-minute walk from Roppongi Ichome Station, tucked away in a back alley off the main street. The shop is not visible from the road, only a bar in front. Once you pass through the bar and open the door, you will find the sushi bar. It is truly a hidden gem. The atmosphere is cozy with only 8 counter seats. The concept of sushi and music creates a pleasant ambiance with background music playing. The chef, originally from Chiba Prefecture, is very friendly and creates a relaxed atmosphere. The course consists of sushi and appetizers alternately. The prices have been raised, with the Mugen course at 6,000 yen, Irugo course at 9,000 yen, King course at 9,000 yen, and Full course at 13,000 yen. The quality of the Edo-style sushi is top-notch and reasonably priced. The chef also pairs the sushi with music, enhancing the dining experience. The winning appetizer was the ankimo, and the runner-up was the oyster. In terms of sushi, the winner was the chutoro, and the runner-up was the kani. Overall, the meticulous Edo-style sushi and soothing music create a sophisticated and relaxing atmosphere. The attention to detail in sourcing ingredients is commendable. It may be hard to get a reservation, but I will definitely visit again! Don't forget to check out my other reviews and follow me for sushi dining companions!

I visited this restaurant for the first time since they relocated. The sushi rice, which was already delicious before, has evolved and become even more delicious. I could feel the chef's dedication in every bite. Each piece of sushi is made in the most delicious way possible, allowing you to fully savor the taste of the fish and shellfish. The combination of the rice and the toppings is excellent. It doesn't feel like a quality of 12 pieces for 5000 yen. I am truly grateful to the chef for offering such quality at an affordable price. My personal favorites this time were the sardine, gizzard shad, and medium fatty tuna. The seared blackthroat seaperch that I added was also incredibly delicious. I tried all the additional toppings this time, enjoyed shochu, sake (both cold and hot), and had a great time. I was happy to be able to drink Ichiko Mizunosei from Akita. I made a reservation two months in advance and took my gourmet father with me this time, and he was also very satisfied. I was able to show my filial piety. Thank you for the wonderful meal. I will visit again!

I picked out some wines at a sushi bar where you can bring your own wine. I enjoyed B153 from Magvis Winery, Mascat Berry A from Shita Iwasaki, 2017 Brut from Domaine Carneros, and 2010 Muscadet Cote de Grandlieu Origine from Domaine du Haut Bourg. The sushi was delicious and I ended up ordering more. The entrance to the restaurant is a bar, and as you open the door, you enter the sushi area in the back. It may be a little hard to find, but that also means you can relax without worrying about being seen. Thank you for the meal. #SushiBarMugen #sushi lovers #byo #Roppongi gourmet #wine lovers #winegram #wine #winelover #instawine #와인 #와인스타그램

I was invited by my sushi-loving friend for a second visit! The staff remembered me from my previous visit, which was very nice. This time, I opted for the 8,000 yen omakase course with friends bringing a bottle of sake each, leading to a fun drinking session. We ended up drinking 4 bottles and got quite tipsy! Just like last time, I was impressed by the quality of the 5,000 yen nigiri course - it's hard to find such good value elsewhere. The nigiri and the appetizers like foie gras and oysters were delicious. The low-temperature cooking technique really brought out the flavors. The nigiri that stood out for me were the young sea bream, tuna, and baby barracuda. It's amazing that you can have two types of tuna at this price! The gari rolls should be a regular menu item at all sushi restaurants. The meticulous craftsmanship of Edomae sushi paired with the relaxing music creates a sophisticated and comfortable atmosphere. They also pay attention to the sourcing of their ingredients, which must be quite challenging. It's surprising how affordable it is. It's getting harder to make reservations, which is a mix of happiness and sadness. I will definitely visit again in September!

[Sushi Bar Mugen], which relocated to a back alley in Roppongi in March 2022, previously operated as a sublease at a bar in Ebisu. The concept is "Edomae sushi that can be enjoyed casually by the younger generation." The restaurant is hidden behind a bar with a sushi counter once you open the door. The interior has a calm atmosphere with soothing music playing in the background. The restaurant only has counter seats, with 6 seats for lunch and 8 seats for dinner. Lunch service is only available on Tuesdays and Sundays starting at 12:00, while dinner service does not have a simultaneous start time. The menu includes an omakase nigiri set for 5,000 yen (tax included) with 12 pieces of nigiri, a soup, and tea, and a set for 8,000 yen (tax included) which includes the previous set plus 4 appetizers. The head chef, Mr. Oguri, hails from Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture, and has honed his skills at a major conveyor belt sushi chain and high-end sushi restaurants in Tokyo, as well as a Michelin-starred sushi restaurant in New York. The sushi rice is made with "Takata no Yume" rice from Rikuzentakata, flavored with a blend of two types of red vinegar, rice vinegar, and salt. Wasabi is made from locally sourced genuine wasabi from Shizuoka Prefecture. The fish selections often include those from Chiba Prefecture, such as Madai and Edo-style preparations. The restaurant also serves dishes like grilled anago wrapped in bamboo leaves and aged Tairagi clams from Rebun. The quality and value of the 5,000 yen omakase set are exceptional, making it a worthwhile dining experience. Additionally, there are plans to open a sauna facility on the 3rd floor of the building, offering a unique combination of sushi, music, a bar, and sauna experiences all in one location.

Visited for the first time after Sushi Bar Mugen moved from Ebisu to Roppongi. Their omakase for 5,000 yen is a great deal. It feels like they are renting the whole building for this price. They even have a sauna with a terrace on the upper floor. Great value for counter sushi.

Despite the threateningly low price of 5000 yen, the quality of the sushi was excellent, with carefully prepared ingredients and small, firm rice balls that were satisfying to eat. I was completely satisfied with just 12 pieces. While I enjoyed the previous narrow bar in Ebisu, I think this new location is better for dining. Next time, I want to challenge myself to order more with an even bigger appetite. The meal was delicious! Thank you very much!

I visited this place in April. Recently, I've noticed that many restaurant owners are from Chiba Prefecture, and there are especially many delicious seafood restaurants. I visited this place for the first time when they moved from Ebisu to Roppongi and started serving lunch. For 5000 yen, you get 12 pieces of sushi with tamagoyaki and soup, which I thought was a great deal. The counter has about 6 seats, and the sushi was seasoned with strong red vinegar and had firm shari. The toppings were slightly larger than usual, and the pickles served instead of ginger went well with beer. The variety of seasonal toppings was impressive, but my favorite was the isaki. The grilled isaki skin was perfect for me, and I even had seconds. The anago was served with care using bamboo leaves. The double-layered chutoro was a rare cut (I think it's called hanashita?). Lunch is available about 2-3 times a week, making it a great option for when you're out visiting art museums.

Hidden gem sushi bar that moved from Ebisu to Roppongi-itchome, just a 4-minute walk from Tokyo Metro Namboku Line. They offer a reasonable pricing of 5000 yen for nigiri-only lunch sets, which has remained unchanged since their Ebisu days. The lunch set includes 12 pieces of sushi, tamago, and miso soup. For dinner, they offer a course menu for 8000 yen, including a variety of dishes. The head chef, originally from Chiba Prefecture, aims to use Chiba's local fish as much as possible. Starting with Kasugodai from Chiba, followed by Hokkaido scallop, chutoro, and then iwashi from Choshi. The iwashi from Choshi is exceptionally delicious with its rich flavor. The katsuo from Katsuura is also excellent. The chef's dedication to Chiba's ingredients makes the sushi experience at this price point incredibly worthwhile. The iwashi was so good that I ended up ordering seconds. Thank you for the meal. Today's nigiri: Kasugodai from Chiba, Sayori, Hokkaido scallop, Chutoro, Iwashi from Choshi, Isaki, Squid, Katsuo from Katsuura, Maguro red meat, Kohada, Kinmedai, Anago, Additional iwashi, Tamago, Miso soup. Instagram ID: kuidaore.8.
