It was just past 11 o'clock and the showcase was starting to fill up with yakitori and side dishes. I bought a "teriyaki yakitori bento" for my partner and a "salt yakitori bento" for myself. The teriyaki yakitori bento had rice topped with cut seaweed, negima skewers, tsukune, and grilled chicken, with a space for sweet and savory minced chicken on top. The salt yakitori bento had lightly salted rice with chopped wasabi, negima skewers, tsukune, and grilled chicken. Both bentos came with pickles and a piece of simmered sweet potato, which had a refreshing lemon flavor. While some may find it not filling enough, I think it's convenient when you want a light meal at home. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

In addition to grilled chicken skewers, they also offer items like German potatoes. I bought some chicken drumettes with meat attached, the price varies depending on the amount in the pack. They were on sale for 30% off so I decided to buy them. The meat was firmly attached, but a bit fatty. Still, they had a good amount of meat and were satisfying to eat. Reheating them and draining the oil might be a good idea. The crunchy texture of the cartilage was nice. They had a bit of spiciness, with a lingering heat afterwards.

After drinking at home around 7:30 pm on Sunday, I visited this place for the first time to buy some side dishes. I purchased the Liver Stamina Fry (usually 221 yen) and Chicken Tempura (usually 265 yen) from the time service menu, both at a 30% discount, totaling 341 yen. Back at home, I enjoyed them with a Strong Zero. First, I tried the Liver Stamina Fry. It was sweet and well-seasoned fried liver with garlic sprouts, which was quite delicious, but the liver flavor was a bit weak. Looking at the ingredients, it seems that it also contains chicken heart besides liver. Honestly, I wish I could taste more of the liver. Next, I tried the Chicken Tempura. I sprinkled the accompanying yuzu salt and tried it. It seemed to be made with chicken breast, with a decent thickness and not too dry. The yuzu salt added a strong salty flavor, which was perfect! If you like chicken, you would probably be satisfied with this dish. Overall, this shop in front of Seiyu is a chicken specialty store that mainly serves yakitori and side dishes. As soon as you exit the ticket gate at Keio (Odakyu) Nagayama Station and go down the stairs, you will find Grinard Nagayama on your left. It is located just before the food section on the 1st floor. It seems to be a yakitori restaurant, but they also sell side dishes and bento boxes. I bought yakitori here on this day. Each yakitori was reasonably priced at around 90-130 yen. They had a good variety of options which was nice. However, when I visited on a weekday after work (around 5 pm), some types were already sold out. I bought a few pieces of each of the following: cartilage for 98 yen, thigh with green onion for 108 yen, thigh for 98 yen, and skin for 98 yen. When I got home, I tried them right away. Each yakitori had very tender meat! The meat was juicy, but some parts were crispy on the outside, giving a good texture. They are grilled by hand over direct flame, and I could smell a delicious aroma. I was satisfied that I could easily enjoy delicious yakitori at home that rivals those from yakitori restaurants. I would like to visit again to buy more yakitori.

This time, I bought salt-grilled skewers including leek, green shiso meatball, ponjiri, and gizzard. We warmed them up in the toaster oven before eating. While you could use the microwave, the toaster oven takes a bit longer but brings out a nice amount of fat, making it more delicious. My partner had leek, ponjiri, and gizzard, while I had leek and green shiso meatball. The saltiness is just right for us, not too strong. The meat has the appropriate texture for take-out grilled chicken. The green shiso meatball has a non-aggressive texture and is easy to eat. The best yakitori in Japan can be found at Keio Grinard Nagayama store, it's irresistible (lol). I aimed for the yakitori bento, meatballs, and karaage, couldn't resist buying them (lol). I might have bought too much and eaten too much, but even with all that, it's just a little over 800 yen, so it's great value. The taste is naturally delicious, but the karaage is just okay, so I recommend the normal fried chicken instead. In any case, whether it's taste, value, or portion size, it might be the best in Japan?! Maybe I'm praising it too much (lol).

Usually, I stop by to shop after my morning activities, but this day was different as I went out in the evening. Since it was already evening, there was a long line. My partner ordered liver, gizzard, and salted skin, while I got the tare tsukune and salted shiso tsukune. We had them warmed up and then poured some warm sauce over the tare grilled ones.
