It's been a while, probably over 20 years since I last visited "Tonkatsu Inaba Wasuki," which I used to frequent during my student days. Feeling a sense of nostalgia, I decided to have lunch there around 1:00 PM. Since it was past the lunch rush, I was seated without having to wait in line. I was guided to a spacious table for four people. Although they introduced a summer limited dish of grilled conger eel, I'm not a fan of conger eel, so I opted for the daily lunch special. In about 5 minutes, my set meal was served. The shredded cabbage with shiso dressing was refreshing and delicious. The crispy tonkatsu, crab cream croquette, and indulgent sausage tempura were all tasty. Of course, the clam miso soup had a gentle flavor that left me satisfied. Sometimes, having a brown lunch can be nice too. The total cost for the daily lunch special at Tonkatsu Inaba Wasuki in Tamachi Center Building is 1,030 yen. Just a heads up, you can't use transportation IC cards, but you can pay with PayPay or credit cards.

This is a restaurant I often visit for lunch on weekdays due to work. It is located in a building right next to Tamachi Station. The cost performance is good, and I particularly like the bite-sized pork cutlet lunch set. The cabbage and miso soup are free refills, and the miso soup is deliciously hot. There may be a line at times, but I think the turnover rate is good. The restaurant is clean and the staff are friendly, making it easy to use.

There is a pork cutlet restaurant right by Tamachi Station. It's a famous chain store, right? I haven't been here in a while, but it was delicious as usual. I ordered a regular pork cutlet. The quality of the meat is a bit lower compared to other tonkatsu restaurants, but it's still delicious. The cabbage was fresh. You can have unlimited refills. For an additional 200 yen, you can switch the clam miso soup in the set to pork miso soup. The miso soup was a bit salty. For just under 1600 yen, I am completely satisfied with the amount of food I got.

Mita Station, oh, it's already noon. Oh no, I need to find a place to eat quickly before it gets crowded! As soon as I got off at the bus stop, there were stairs leading down to a dining area in the basement of a building. I decided to go down and found a tonkatsu restaurant right away. There were other options, but oh, there's a 20% PayPay cashback offer here! Alright, let's go with this one. It was almost full, but I managed to get a seat quickly. I was planning to order the katsudon lunch set (1,010 yen), but then I saw on the table menu that you can get unlimited rice, miso soup, and cabbage with the daily lunch set (1,000 yen)… so I changed my mind and went with the daily special instead! You can also change the miso soup to tonjiru for an additional 170 yen… so I went with tonjiru! Oh no, I made a mistake. If I choose tonjiru, I can't get a refill of miso soup (cries). Oh well, it can't be helped. However, the daily special content was not mentioned on the menu, so I decided not to ask and keep it as a surprise. About 10 minutes later, the food arrived. The server informed me that I could have unlimited rice, cabbage, and miso soup with tonjiru. I was thrilled! Changing to tonjiru was definitely the right choice. Let's dig in! First, what's this? Fried squid, nice. It's not the best squid I've had, but it's decent. There's one more piece left. I poured sauce over the cabbage and enjoyed it without holding back. Now, let's try the tonjiru… it's full of ingredients and delicious. The soup is also tasty. Moving on to the rice. It's delicious. It's great when the rice tastes good. I balanced eating rice, cabbage, and tonjiru… and got a refill! All in regular portions. Now, let's try the tonkatsu. It's small because it's part of the daily special, but it's tasty. It would be disappointing on its own, but it's good as part of the set. And this round thing is… a croquette. It has a strong potato flavor and it's delicious. It's a good second serving for the rice. The tonjiru I got as a refill is also… delicious. It's great that they offer this. They also gave me cold tea, then hot tea towards the end. The service is excellent. Well, I finished eating. I'm satisfied. Thank you for the meal. It cost 1,170 yen, oh, that's right, there's a 20% PayPay cashback offer. I'll get 234 yen back in points. And it was only until today. Lucky me! Now, let's get back to work.

Located about a 4-minute walk from Tamachi Station Shibaura Exit, this tonkatsu chain is situated on the basement floor of Tamachi Grand Park. I visited for lunch on a weekday. The Tabelog rating at the time of my visit was 3.05 (December 2021). It had been a while since my last visit. I was torn between the daily special and the katsu curry, but ended up ordering the most affordable hirekatsu lunch set at 950 yen. [Hirekatsu Lunch Set (950 yen)] The dish was served in about 7 minutes after ordering. Let's dig in. Compared to the tonkatsu I've had at more renowned individual restaurants recently, this one naturally lacks in thickness and juiciness, but it was still satisfying as tonkatsu. The price below 1000 yen is quite reasonable. The breading is neither too coarse nor too fine, just standard. The seasoning is well done, so it can be enjoyed even without sauce. The rib roast katsu set priced a bit higher comes with a 130g cut, while this one is probably around 100g. However, you can fill up your stomach with unlimited rice, miso soup, and cabbage if you want to eat more. This place offers consistently good tonkatsu. Thank you for the meal.

Inaba Wakou's stamp card can be used at places other than the issuing store, which is very convenient for us. Since we eat out quite often, whenever we are recommended to get a point card, we always do. The efficient ones fill up after just two visits, and we can get discounts like 500 yen off, which is really helpful. Among chain restaurants, we think Inaba Wakou has good value for money in terms of meat quality, frying technique, and service. Their stamp card fills up quickly, and for us, it's full after just two visits. It really helps us out!

On this day, I was with someone senior and it was raining, so we decided to go to the station building connected by an underground passage to avoid getting wet. I couldn't decide where to eat, but I knew I couldn't go wrong with a tonkatsu place, so we went in. They had a great lunch menu, and my friend ordered the "Tonjiru (pork soup) with Special 150g Pork Loin Lunch for 1320 yen", while I wanted to try various things so I ordered the "Ebi Hire (shrimp fillet) Pork Loin Lunch for 1090 yen". The tonkatsu was excellent as always, with a crispy coating. Unfortunately, my shrimp didn't come with tartar sauce, but that was the only downside. Another important aspect of a tonkatsu place is the cabbage. I love the thinly sliced cabbage that looks like it was cut by a machine, and I always ask for refills. I start with dressing and then move on to the sauce, it's so easy to eat. My friend's special pork loin came with rock salt, and the pork soup was huge! Normally, they offer free refills of miso soup with clams, but it was so full of ingredients that you couldn't have a second bowl. However, you could change it to the clam miso soup for an additional 150 yen, so I'll try that next time. It's been a while since I last visited, but the consistently delicious food here is truly commendable.

I cannot break the routine of going from izakaya to ramen shop every night, and yet, I cannot find much satisfaction from either. The Myanmar girl is very considerate towards me, but as someone who has been deeply influenced by the era of two Japanese college girls, I feel nothing but nostalgia. Moving to the ramen shop, I notice a Chinese man with his friend, who seems to be captivated by the hardworking Harbin lady running the shop. The Japanese man sitting next to me seems intimidated by the Chinese man, and I wonder if this seat will be treated to a meal. It's embarrassing to see Japanese people trying to impress foreigners and at the same time, acting subservient towards them. The weather in Tokyo is cloudy, and I decide to have lunch at "Inaba Kazuyuki" in Tamachi. The cabbage and rice are refillable, and the daily special includes hirekatsu, menchikatsu, and croquette. The quality is not as good as my favorite place in Oji, but for the price, it's a sincere offering. The attentive service in the corner seat impresses me. Back at Tamachi station, I see two Namahage taking commemorative photos with train passengers. It reminds me of the time I circled the Oga Peninsula in my beloved Italian red car. The challenging coastal road, the lively folk music in souvenir shops, and the roadkill tanuki everywhere. I finally arrived at the "Namahage Hall" and was greeted by a blizzard of sound and light when I entered a room. It felt like I was back in the towns of the Oga Peninsula.

It seems easy to confuse this place with the same tonkatsu chain "Wako", but this is a different restaurant. I have been to the restaurant in Shin-Yurigaoka before. It is located in a building connected to Tamachi Station with various types of eateries such as izakaya, soba, ramen, and Chinese cuisine. The tonkatsu here is called "Inaba Wako" or "Inaba Tonkatsu Wako" on the Tabelog website, is that correct? I tried the "Thick-cut pork fillet cutlet set (1420 yen + tax)" and found that it goes well with sauce or salt. The pork and breading seem to go well with sauce. The tonjiru (pork miso soup) with plenty of ingredients is a nice touch, but it may be a bit too much for one person (lol). I usually ask for less rice at tonkatsu restaurants just in case, and here, you can't get a refill of tonjiru, but you can have a second serving of shijimi clam soup. The restaurant has a calm atmosphere, but the staff's conversations can be heard too clearly. Despite being in the city center, it has the vibe of a local diner.

The meat was thick and delicious. I used it for lunch. Rice, cabbage, and miso soup are all-you-can-eat. The batter was nicely colored and had a good crispy texture, giving a fragrant taste. It was delicious to eat with salt, as it had a refreshing taste different from the sauce. Of course, it was also delicious to enjoy with the sauce.

Near Tamachi Station in Tokyo, there is a tonkatsu specialty restaurant located inside the Tamachi Center Building. It stands out in a prominent location, making it easy to find. It has now become a nationally famous tonkatsu chain, known for its consistently delicious tonkatsu. Although the service may vary slightly, it is great to know that you can always enjoy a tasty tonkatsu meal. The portions are generous, and even without seconds, it is more than enough. The only downside is that it is easy to overeat because it is so delicious.

Stable taste. It's just delicious, you can have seconds, and the service is not bad. However, it seems that more men are able to communicate about having seconds. Also, smoking is allowed during lunchtime. There are non-smoking seats, but they are only separated to a limited extent. People who come for smoking keep smoking continuously, so the smell is strong. It may not be recommended for non-smokers, but it is a very good restaurant for men and smokers.
