After finishing work at Tsukiji, I decided to have lunch. I wanted to eat grilled fish, so I chose a charcoal-grilled fish restaurant on the way to Ginza. As I opened the door, the smell of grilling fish wafted through the shop. I ordered the "Miso-marinated black cod" at the entrance, paid, and took a shogi piece as a number card to a vacant seat at the counter. I entered around 11:45, but customers kept coming in one after another... By noon, there was already a line. It's a popular shop. About 10 minutes later, it arrived. The miso-marinated black cod grilled over charcoal. The smell alone is already a pass. I am confident that entering this shop was the right choice. The cod meat is fatty and the skin is crispy, no complaints. I finished it in no time. It's amazing that it's less than 1000 yen. I knew about this shop, so I regret why I didn't go there sooner. They have a wide variety of grilled fish, so I plan to visit frequently in the future. Thank you for the delicious meal today as well.

One minute walk from Higashi-Ginza Station. Once you come up from the ground, it's only a 10-second walk? The structure is like a two-story traditional house. The first floor has only a counter. The second floor has semi-private rooms. It's a good idea to make a reservation. The seating is limited to 2 hours, but it was totally satisfying! There were too many types of fish, and I was tempted by the Pacific saury and salmon teriyaki, but I ordered a skewer set of 5 items. It cost about 1,000 yen. Since they are bite-sized, it's recommended to order one per person. In addition, we ordered a sashimi assortment, salmon mixed rice, miso soup, roasted green tea ice cream plum wine, fruit wine, sours, etc. The alcohol was easy to drink, and I thought it was weak at first, but it hit me later (laughs). All the fish were fatty and delicious. They were fragrant and fluffy in texture. Because they are charcoal-grilled, the deliciousness is something you can't experience at home. Perhaps due to its location and the taste of the restaurant, there were many working adults. Salarymen and office ladies. People coming after work. I think this place is perfect for couples or married couples who want to enjoy a relaxing and delicious meal. The miso soup costs 100 yen, but it was surprisingly good. The dashi was too delicious. It's cheap for 100 yen! Instead of a call bell, there is a system where the staff lights up the lantern on each table at the right timing. It's unnecessary to light it up. The staff circulates around the tables diligently by the minute, so their attention to detail and timing is exquisite! The best! The restroom is divided into male and female sections, which is nice. The entire restaurant had a sense of cleanliness. I definitely want to go back!! It's worth paying for. I found a restaurant I love in Higashi-Ginza!! This is the first time I've given an all-4 rating on Tabelog!! It was so delicious!!

I don't know what this restaurant is, but it seems to be a well-known place. When I checked the app in East Ginza, it was listed as a famous restaurant, but it's not there on the computer. Why? Other people also mentioned it as a famous restaurant, so why did it disappear? I had the grilled silver cod with Saikyo miso set meal for around 1300 yen. The silver cod was delicious. I think the grilled silver cod with Saikyo miso is tasty. The one at Kajimaya is also good. However, as you can see from the photos, it looks a bit shabby. I wouldn't mind paying a bit more if the side dishes were better.

A restaurant where you can enjoy delicious charcoal-grilled fish all day. It's a chain restaurant that offers affordable and generous portions of fish, perfect for when you're craving fish at night. It's recommended to make a reservation for dinner, but you might be able to grab a spot at the counter if it's not too busy. On this particular day, I arrived early on a weekday and luckily got a seat at the counter for a fish feast dinner! You can also order set meals for around 1000 yen, which is a great deal. I was in the mood for lots of fish, so I even ordered additional fish a la carte. I didn't pay much attention to the prices, but the a la carte option was almost the same price as the set meal, so I wouldn't recommend ordering it separately. The miso soup was nothing special, but the fish and rice were delicious! Thank you for the meal!

As soon as you open the door, you are hit with intense heat from the charcoal grill right next to the entrance. I placed my order and paid first, then sat at a table in the back (shared seating). There were still transparent partition boards for COVID-19 measures. Surprised. I was given a teacup and filled it with water myself.
Grilled Mackerel with Mirin Sauce Set Meal ¥924 (tax included): I usually eat mackerel grilled with salt or in miso, so I decided to try it with mirin sauce this time. The skin was quite burnt, possibly containing carcinogens, so I removed the burnt part. The mackerel was thick and fluffy, and juicy with dripping fat. Delicious! It's hard to replicate this at home. The side pickles and miso soup were a bit lacking, so I made a rice bowl with the fish for added enjoyment. The miso soup had some dried wakame seaweed, but it would have been perfect with tofu or green onions. Overall, getting a meal for under ¥1000 in Ginza is quite rare. The drink menu on the table for the evening was also very cheap, starting from ¥550, making this hidden gem in Higashi-Ginza a great find.

The pork ginger is delicious with a refreshing ginger flavor that you can enjoy crunching on. The school bottle set is priced at 2800 yen and comes with a good selection of ingredients. The skewers like mackerel are also tasty with rich flavors. However, they might be a bit strict on time management. We made a reservation for a weekday evening, but it seemed like there was another reservation right after ours. We arrived at 7 pm, had our last food order at around 8:15 pm, and our last drink order at 8:30 pm. I wish they could have let us take our time a bit more.

The food was delicious as expected. Unlike last time when we sat at the counter, this time we were guided to the second floor. The restaurant felt longer and narrower than I thought, but it still had a spacious feel. We had a private room and were able to enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace. I will definitely come back again, but I think making a reservation is a must. Thank you for the meal.

I went on a Sunday evening without a reservation and was seated right away. I ordered the dried fish skewers and a set of 5 assorted skewers, but most of them were mackerel, haha. They were all generously coated in oil and had a strong flavor, so I think they would go well with alcohol! The mixed rice and sashimi were delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant selected as one of the "Top 100 Izakaya" in 2021. Despite the name suggesting a focus on Niigata's local cuisine, the flagship menu item was dried fish dishes. Highly recommended are the "Assorted Dried Fish Skewers (5 pieces)" and the "Mixed Rice with Dried Fish - Mackerel." The dried fish skewers were exquisite, with tender flesh, a delicious smoky flavor from the skin, and the richness of the fish oil. We paired them with Akita's "Asakura" sake. The mixed rice with sesame oil was excellent for finishing the meal, and I joked that I wanted it made into onigiri. Interestingly, this restaurant is operated by the same company as the famous "Shinpachi Shokudo," known for its charcoal-grilled fish set meals. Having been a patron of Shinpachi Shokudo many times, I now understand why the food is so delicious. [Visit Date] Saturday (Clear Weather) / 7:00 PM [Queue Status] Online Reservation [Total Cost] 6,512 yen for 2 people

This is a dining place near the Kabuki-za theater, known for its wide variety of dried fish dishes. It's not common to find places around here that serve set meals even at night. When I visited on a weekday night before, it was fully booked with reservations, so this time I made a reservation for a weekend night.
- Yellowtail sashimi: You can enjoy yellowtail sashimi at a relatively reasonable price. The crispy skin and tender flesh are delicious.
- Miso-marinated black cod: This dish is also delicious with a sweet flavor! I love miso-marinated dishes, so I would like to order it again.
- Rice and miso soup: Ordered separately.
- Sashimi platter: The sashimi is also delicious as they are particular about the freshness of the fish. With a wide variety of dried fish available, I would like to visit again a few more times!

On the first day of the Bon holiday, I visited this restaurant during work hours. It was nearly empty around 12 o'clock. I ordered at the entrance, paid, and then went to a table on the second floor. The food was served in about 15 minutes. I ordered mackerel in sweet soy sauce and chicken a la carte, but I was surprised by the low cost-performance ratio of the chicken. The mackerel was overcooked and burnt, with no taste of sweet soy sauce. The portion of meat was small and I thought it was expensive for a thousand yen. It's understandable to have higher prices in Ginza, but they really need to improve the way they cook the fish. The service was lacking, as they didn't bring water unless you called for it. All the customers on the second floor had to ask for water as well. Both the service and the taste have deteriorated. Very disappointing.

After participating in the Bon Odori at Tsukiji Honganji Temple, I was feeling a bit hungry, so I visited this shop on the way to the station. I had umeshu with dried plum while enjoying dried saury and dried horse mackerel. The prices were reasonable, and the taste and char on the dried fish were superb, incredibly delicious. There were a few things that caught my attention towards the end, so I'd like to visit again in winter. The cost performance is excellent.

It is great that they offer authentic dried fish. The fish is delicious and perfectly cooked, not too dry. However, the saltiness of the dried fish is strong, which is understandable, but the other dishes are also generally too salty. It may be suitable for a drinking establishment, but personally, I feel that it would be better to offer different flavors for other dishes to enjoy them slowly. All the food is tasty, but the saltiness makes it easy to get tired of it quickly. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, and foreign visitors would particularly enjoy it.

I had known about this shop for a while, but it was my first time visiting. The dried herring was very delicious, with the small bones not being a bother and the flesh coming off easily. The rice was also delicious. It was so good that I want to eat it again tomorrow, and I don't feel like eating grilled fish at other shops. I felt lucky to be Japanese at this shop. The background music was unexpectedly sumo chants. The only disappointing thing was that the pickles were a bit lacking, but I still want to go back to eat there again.

Just a short walk from the Kabuki-za theater in Higashi Ginza. Cheap! Delicious! Went with 5 people and spent around 7,000 to 8,000 yen. We drank a lot and ate a ton, but it felt like a great deal. This place is called Yaso Kichi, part of the Echigoya chain which used to have a location in Shiodome. They are known for their grilled fish like hokke, which is really tasty. You can see them grilling the fish at the entrance. Despite the strong fish flavor, the meat dishes here are also delicious! This place is famous for its fish, but their oyama tori (grilled chicken) is skillfully done, especially when paired with yuzu pepper. The man'yoji togarashi (Japanese pepper) was also delicious. We drank a lot of beer and Hakushu highballs. The restaurant is quite small, but the back seats feel secluded, almost like a semi-private room, which I really like. There's something about certain small places that feel cozy and welcoming, while others just feel cramped and uncomfortable.

Counter seating available, with tables in the back. I decided to try the Saikyo grilled silver cod since I was there. The rice was shiny and the silver cod was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of oil. It was the first time in a while that I had such delicious grilled fish. However, for women, it might feel a bit lacking with just grated daikon and pickles. I would have liked to add a salad or something, even if it was at an additional cost. The prices for dishes like Pacific saury and mackerel were reasonable, less than 1000 yen. I would definitely like to come back again. I gave a slightly lower rating because, although the lunch was delicious, the wait to be seated and the attitude of the staff felt a bit lacking in kindness for a good restaurant. I understand the need to close the door when using the air conditioner at this time of year, but constantly hearing the staff reminding each other to close it while I was eating at the counter was a bit distracting and took away from the overall dining experience.

Next to the Kabuki-za theater, there is a casual Japanese-style izakaya with a lively atmosphere. Their specialty is grilled fish and vegetable skewers, with a charcoal grill right by the entrance. The first floor has limited seating, but the second floor has semi-private booths, creating a cozy atmosphere. We sat in a row on the second floor, each table with a sumo wrestler's name on a light, which turns red when you want to order - a fun touch. We started with a recommended assortment of 5 fish skewers. With a variety of fish, it was a bit challenging to identify each one... The dried fish and mirin-dried options were interesting, and the fatty fish like mackerel were particularly delicious. The pork-wrapped ginger from Yanaka and the sashimi were also tasty. We didn't try too many dishes as we had a bento during the Kabuki intermission, but the pickled assortment we added at the end was quite good. The large portion of umeshu was a nice touch. The cozy seating arrangement and decent selection of drinks make me want to come back for a more leisurely meal.

Today, let's go for Japanese food. It's hot and we want something near the station, so we decided to come here. We used our contactless tickets to get to Higashi-Ginza. We thought it would be crowded, but surprisingly there was only one group waiting! We quickly lined up and looked at the menu. There were a lot of fish dishes, and I couldn't decide, but I chose the fatty mackerel, while my friend chose half a grilled hokke. We went upstairs after paying. The first floor only had a counter, with just enough space for one person to pass through. The second floor had semi-private rooms. We were given a numbered chess piece and were told to respond when our number was called. We were quickly called and served a large fish dish! The miso soup bowl was also huge! The pickles and grated daikon with the fatty mackerel were delicious! It was a bit challenging to eat due to the bones. My friend said the grilled hokke was also delicious and easier to eat. We wanted another small side dish, but maybe it's busier on weekdays? If it was closer, we might become regulars!

On my day off, after visiting various shrines and temples, I stopped by my usual incense shop in Ginza and then wandered around. I noticed this restaurant and decided to go in. The restaurant was empty except for me, which was fine, but I felt a bit uncomfortable because I could clearly hear the male staff's personal conversation in a loud voice. Despite feeling like I wanted to leave, I confirmed if it was still open and placed an order. The fried tofu with miso seasoning was delicious, and all the fish dishes were really tasty! The food was excellent, and I will definitely go back. Thank you for the delicious fish dishes.

I visited during lunchtime on a regular day. There is always a bit of a line, so I tend to give up, but this time I went at a slightly different time. I hesitated over the menu and chose the red sea bream. I asked for a smaller portion of rice. The interior of the restaurant consists of a narrow hallway with a counter, and there are tables in the back. Since I was alone this time, I sat at the counter. The smell of grilled fish fills the air in the restaurant. It's not smoky, but if you don't want to smell like fish, it might be better to avoid it on certain days. The red sea bream that came out was surprisingly thick and juicy! It was cooked perfectly. And what surprised me even more was how delicious the rice was...!! I was looking forward to the fish based on reviews, but the rice, with its crispy and shiny texture and prominent sweetness, was outstanding!! The fish was also of a very high quality, but I would go there just for the rice!! It was a much more delicious experience than I expected! I want to go again!!

This shop is located near Higashi Ginza Station, close to the Kabuki-za theater. Inside, there were counter seats lined up and it seemed like there were also other seats in the back. This time, I used the counter seats. The order arrived soon after ordering. The food was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant is located near Kabuki-za. I visited after a long time. The interior is small, but there are private rooms on the second floor where you can enjoy your meal in a calm atmosphere. There are various types of fish to choose from, but I had the grilled mackerel meal. It was cooked carefully and I could fully enjoy the delicious flavor of the fish.
