There are various timings to visit restaurants. Under the state of emergency, one of the least likely times to visit a restaurant is late at night. This place is one of those for me. A bar that is a student's ally with one drink for 150 yen. Of course, those who are connoisseurs of bars may find it lacking. However, I find myself dropping by because I like the bartender's personality. In 2021, I realized that I hadn't been there yet. Even though the state of emergency has been lifted, alcohol service ends at 8:00 pm, so I decided to visit this place after 7:00 pm, a time I would never normally go. There were a few regular customers already there. I remember seeing on TV that after the state of emergency was lifted, students were drunk and noisy in front of Takadanobaba Station. Normally, those students would also come here, but the restaurant couldn't accommodate them, leaving the students with nowhere to go, which is unfair. While chatting with the master about such things, I drank Laphroaig tonight. It's a night of incomplete combustion where I can't tell if I'm drunk or not. I just want to casually say "let's go to another place since the last train is gone" ...

Students bring energy to Takadanobaba. This bar, which mainly targets students, offers reasonable prices. I like the atmosphere of the handsome bartender here, so I occasionally take the elevator to the 3rd floor. The bar industry has been hit hard by the pandemic. The risk is not as high as in restaurants because it is not a place to make a lot of noise, but it is treated similarly to hostess clubs, and when trouble arises, it is suddenly called out and forced to self-restrain. Bartenders who have endured without complaint are finally getting ready to make a comeback. To witness their heroic efforts, I visited here after a long time. → Ordered items: Martini, Johnnie Walker Blue Label. You can get cocktails starting from 300 yen here. Since it's been a while, I'll start with a Martini. Enjoying a Martini in a relaxed home-drinking atmosphere. Recently, there have been surprising whiskies offered at surprising prices. So, I check if there's any interesting whisky for the second drink. On this day, Johnnie Walker Blue Label was available! Although it may seem expensive based on the pricing here, it's surprisingly reasonable. Had the Blue Label after a long time. Smooth and mellow taste. These surprises are all thanks to the passion of the owner here. Of course, there are not always hidden gems like this, but for some reason, I keep coming back. Hopefully, students will return to Takadanobaba soon.

The other day, I had some business in Takadanobaba and decided to stop by a bar that I had been curious about for a while! It's located about a 5-minute walk from Takadanobaba Station and is a very affordable place! There is a 300 yen charge and drinks are only 300 yen each with a variety of options available! It was crowded with many students! The drinks are also delicious! I will definitely visit again!

This place used to be called "BAR300" as you could get a drink for 300 yen. It was a casual bar where you could chat with the bartender and even stop by late at night. The system and interior didn't seem to have changed much, but I later found out that the name of the bar had actually changed. The bartender mentioned that they changed it a while ago, possibly because offering cocktails for 300 yen wasn't as unique since there are bars nearby that offer drinks for 200 yen. They now offer drinks for 150 yen for students, which is a good deal for a student town. On this visit, I had a gin and tonic, a Boston cooler, and a martini, all for 300 yen each, plus a 300 yen cover charge. The atmosphere was light and easy-going, perfect for a casual drink. The bartender's friendly demeanor is what keeps me coming back, even though I usually prefer more authentic bars. The bar can get a bit noisy when students are around, but the bartender does a good job of keeping things under control. If you're looking for a more authentic bar experience, you can head to "BAR blue moon" just down the narrow alley from here. But if you just want a casual drink without worrying about the day or time, this place is a good option. It's important for a drinker to have a variety of places to enjoy a drink in different situations. It's not easy to find a place where both young people and older folks can enjoy a drink together.
