I found this shop when looking for a bento-like option for an event. I bought the bulgogi kimbap that looked delicious on display. It contains bulgogi, carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, and other vegetables, so you can get your veggies in. The sesame and sesame oil flavor is nice and makes it easy to eat. It's already cut, making it easy to share with others. They also had kimchi, but the smell was a bit strong so I passed on it this time. There were many easy-to-enjoy Korean dishes available. I'd like to try buying various types of kimchi someday.

Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi Main Store has a specialty store for Kimchi and Namul called "Chinsaikan" located in the basement. Chinsai refers to the Chinese characters for Kimchi, so the store name is actually Kimchikan. I have bought lunch from there over 10 times, but I have never taken a photo, so I thought I should keep a record. They offer various lunch boxes, but I am not familiar with all of them. The Namul Donburi (which I bought this time) costs ¥750, the Chapchae Donburi costs ¥750, the Spicy Fried Chicken Bento costs ¥750, and the Korean Nori Roll Bento is priced unknown. Both the Namul Donburi and Chapchae Donburi come with plenty of ingredients on warm rice, making it hard not to be greedy. The Spicy Fried Chicken is generously coated with Gochujang. Previously, it used to be topped with slices of fresh green chili peppers, but I think they have stopped doing that recently. Green chili peppers are quite spicy, so it's understandable. As it is a preserved food, it is naturally high in salt content. Additionally, the Namul Donburi comes with Gochujang on the side, which enhances the flavor but also increases the saltiness. It is essential to drink plenty of mineral water after eating. The variety of Kimchi available is also rich in flavor and saltiness. Overall, it is a delicious bento that makes you want to eat more.

Korean deli store in Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi basement. The food is delicious if eaten immediately after purchase, but the taste drops significantly the next day. Most deli stores in department stores have expiration dates set for "same day," which is frustrating. Does this mean we have to buy only one item and eat it on the spot? I wish each store would make an effort to make their food enjoyable the next day. On the other hand, "Nadaman" bento boxes are delicious even the next day. Although the expiration date is set for the same day, they are still tasty the following day. There must be some special effort put into making bento box dishes different from those served in the dining area. The Kimbap and Chijimi here are slightly salty but quite tasty (if eaten on the same day). I might purchase them if I happen to pass by the store.

This time, I visited a Korean cuisine deli called Shinsaikan (Kimchikan) located in the food basement floor of Mitsukoshi department store in Nihonbashi to buy a souvenir for my wife. They offer a variety of kimchi sold by weight, but this time I purchased a set of Korean home-cooked dishes such as jeon, japchae, tteokbokki, and kimbap for around 900 yen. The quality was decent overall, especially the tteokbokki had a satisfying level of spiciness. The location in Nihonbashi offers napa cabbage kimchi for 3000 yen per head, which is a bit pricey, but I would like to try their kimchi sold by weight next time. Thank you for the meal.

Shin Chae Kan Tangy Chicken Bento: Sweet and savory seasoned fried chicken with kimchi and namul. The fried chicken is rich and spicy with a Korean sauce. The crispy green onions and sesame topping add a nice touch. The meat itself has a lot of fat, which is a bit disappointing. The kimchi, being from a specialty store, is spicy but also packed with flavor and delicious. The namul is a nice palate cleanser. It's a spicy and sweat-inducing dish, but delicious. Shin Chae Kan Beef Kalbi Bibimbap: I was craving meat, so I tried their new menu item. The colorful bibimbap complements the meat well. The kimchi from this authentic kimchi store is excellent and really stimulates the appetite. The kalbi is tender and juicy, and you can adjust the spiciness with the gochujang provided. It's a meaty power boost! Priced at 830 yen, it would be more appreciated if it were a bit more affordable. Shin Chae Kan Spicy Dakgalbi Bowl: I chose this stamina-boosting summer menu item. The staff warned me that it's spicy, but I decided to give it a try. Dakgalbi is a stir-fried chicken dish with plenty of vegetables like cabbage, carrots, onions, and leeks. It's indeed spicy with a mix of red, green, and Korean chili peppers. However, it's not just spicy; the gochujang and apple vinegar give it depth and flavor. It's rich and delicious, perfect for a power boost. It's priced at 578 yen after a 5% discount with the Mitsukoshi card. Shin Chae Kan Pork Kimchi Bento: An bento from a kimchi and namul specialty store. They offer various other bento options as well. The kimchi is made with fresh vegetables and salt from Okinawa, with carefully selected chili peppers grown in a contracted farm in South Korea. It's not just spicy but also has a rich umami flavor, making it mildly spicy. This bento features plenty of pork mixed with kimchi, along with oi kimchi and namul. It's a generous portion with a perfect match of pork and kimchi. The pork and kimchi go so well together, making it easy to enjoy the meal. Priced at 598 yen after a 5% discount with the Mitsukoshi card.

I always decide to buy kimchi here. I've eaten kimchi at various places before, but the kimchi and namul here are the best!!! Last time, I bought celery kimchi, so this time I purchased the basic napa cabbage kimchi and a namul assortment. I bought the kimchi in whole heads, not pre-cut, as the taste drops significantly when it's cut, as explained by the strong-willed woman (every time). Therefore, it's quite big and costs 3000 yen for just the kimchi. The namul also has a lot in it, so it costs 1500 yen. It's a bit pricey, but it's delicious so it can't be helped. Highly recommended. The following is the review from previous visits. Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi's underground area is a wonderland of food! I love it!! Among them, if you want to take out Korean food, this place is the best by far. This time, I bought the "celery kimchi," a limited-time menu available only in June, and namul bean sprouts. Some people may not like celery, but this is delicious!!! It doesn't have the typical celery bitterness, and when marinated in kimchi, it becomes sweet, crunchy, spicy, and slightly sweet, making it much tastier than napa cabbage. Highly recommended!!! The namul bean sprouts are also of a very high level! They are delicious. My son especially likes them and can finish this amount by himself. On this day, I also bought 3 skewers of grilled chicken skin and only bean sprouts. It's a complete menu for drinking, but he eats it with rice, so his future as a drinker is guaranteed. I usually buy chijimi and regular kimchi as well, but this time I reviewed the celery. I hope everyone tries it at least once.

Today's lunch was the Korean-style fried chicken bento (630 yen) from Shinnaisen (Kimuchi-kan) located on the basement floor of Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi Main Store. There are various bento boxes and side dishes available in the basement of Mitsukoshi. Since it is close to my workplace, I sometimes come here to buy bento boxes. As the name suggests, they also have kimchi bento boxes, but for me, they are a bit too spicy, so I always finish the rice before the kimchi. This fried chicken bento has a delicious sweet and savory flavor that never gets old. There is also a little bit of kimchi included. The portion size is just right.

I often see Kimchi Kan in various places, but the only place I saw them selling bento boxes was at Mitsukoshi Main Store. I was surprised to see them here, and when I approached, I saw several types of bento boxes. It was evening, so I bought the Bibimbap that was on sale. When I asked how to eat it, they said to eat it as it is. I ate it without heating it up, mixed in the included Gochujang sauce. It was missing a bit of Namul (seasoned vegetables), but the amount of Gochujang sauce was sufficient, and for only 500 yen, I was satisfied. I like Kimchi Kan, so I plan to try a different bento box next time.

On a holiday night, I went to the food section of Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi to look for some side dishes for dinner. There were so many options that I couldn't decide, but I ended up choosing Korean dishes, Chi-mi and Kakuteki, which seemed like a light snack. I thought about getting something spicier, but they were delicious and satisfying.
