The shop has a quiet atmosphere, but the sign subtly gives off a sense of greatness. The taste of the Japanese sweets is top-notch. They are completely handmade by a charming female artisan, with dorayaki being the usual favorite. However, the high-quality ingredients make the taste and sense of the sweets very satisfying. They have ohagi for one week during the autumn equinox. Today's special is ohagi. It has a rich quality to it, not too sweet, but sweet enough to satisfy those with a sweet tooth. The red bean paste is subtle yet flavorful, and the aroma of the rice cake is rich.

The charm of the dessert is outstanding. Priced at 350 yen, it exudes a sense of elegance that is hard to believe. Made with Yoshino kudzu from Nara Prefecture, the agar flavor with a mochi-like texture is not too sweet and offers a blissful taste. The bottom part resembles yokan while the top part has a refreshing agar flavor, creating the perfect combination in your mouth. Despite being run quietly by a single woman, the presence and taste are top-notch.

This year's anmitsu has started, so I tried it right away! The agar jelly and sweet red bean paste with apricot, red peas, and mochi are perfectly balanced, coated in delicious black honey! The traditional Japanese sweets that change regularly show great taste, and the cute design of the shop and the style of choosing one by one upon entering are wonderful (^。^) #Today, Ekoda is full of delicious food as always.

From Ekoda Station, it's a walkable distance for those with strong legs. It has a subtle charm to it. In terms of convenience, it may not have the upper hand. However, it has its regular customers. The artisan faces of Japanese women are alluring, reminiscent of Amida and Jizo. They even had sakura mochi due to the season. The usual favorites are dorayaki and manju. They don't try to expand too much. This is fine. They maintain a small but dedicated operation, ensuring a carefully handcrafted taste. The anko in both dorayaki and manju is pleasantly sweet, with a flavorful outer layer. The balance is just right. The sakura mochi has a nice aroma. It lacks a strong individuality or impact. Instead, it focuses on making traditional and honest dorayaki and manju. Cash only. This is fine. They don't want to burden themselves with anything other than making traditional Japanese sweets. A 4-star rating is given based solely on taste, objectively and fairly. However, emotionally, it deserves a much higher rating.

There is a small shop located on the right side after passing Nihon University College of Art and popular ramen shop Menya Kanetora, beyond Edo Furuta. They sell dorayaki, manju, and several types of traditional Japanese sweets. The concept of the shop is similar to Suzumeya in Ikebukuro. This time, I only bought dorayaki. When I cut it, I could feel that both the filling and the skin were quite firm. The sweetness is subtle, but the unique texture makes it delicious. In a way, it's the opposite of Kameju's dorayaki. They have a baking plate in the store, and it feels like they are making it properly. I would like to stop by here again when I go in that direction.

On this day, I was exploring the Seven Lucky Gods of Itabashi. I happened to come across this shop on the way from Anyo-in to Saiko-ji. It had a cute, simple glass exterior and interior. The dorayaki was priced at 220 yen. Compared to the prices in the nearby Asakusa area, which range from 280 to 380 yen, this was quite cheap! When I tried it... the perfect balance of bitterness (from the baked dough) and rich dough... and the red bean paste was packed full! Everyone would love this! I wish there was a shop like this nearby!

I visited the shop around 1 pm on a regular day. It is a small shop with modest signage. The menu only consists of manju, traditional Japanese sweets for tea, and dorayaki. I bought a dorayaki. The size of the dorayaki is average. It has chunky red bean paste filling, slightly more than usual. The sweetness is just right. The outer cake is fluffy and seems to be brushed with syrup. There is a sweetness before reaching the red bean paste when you take a bite. It's a casual treat at a reasonable price, so I bought it after having a meal to enjoy with tea.

A new Japanese confectionery shop has opened on the former site of Marumi Bagel. I was a big fan of Marumi Bagel, so it's quite disappointing, but oh well. I don't have Japanese sweets often, but I actually love sweet bean paste! It's said to be low in fat and suitable for dieting, but... no, the amount of sugar used is too high! So I try to resist. Today, as a little reward for myself for trying hard, I had a dorayaki. You can tell from its appearance that the dough is rich and firm. It has a good elasticity. It was very delicious with plenty of sweet bean paste! When I took a picture, it looked even more like a dorayaki from Doraemon. The size is just right, and the price is also reasonable at 220 yen. I want to eat it again!

I visited this place located in a residential street. The BGM in the store is jazz. I could see an IH stove in the back, and there is only enough space in front of the showcase for one person. It was close to lunchtime, so the selection was quite limited. I had a "dorayaki" with chunky red bean paste. The skin part was moist and went well with both coffee and Japanese tea.

The dorayaki castella has a high level of quality, with a good aroma, sweet and fluffy texture. The red bean paste is also well-prepared with a refined and delicious taste.
