It's been a long time since I last visited Yoshigyu. I wonder when that was? I always go for the special serving at Yoshigyu. Yes, it's been 33 years since the special serving was introduced. The part-timer girl got a fever or something and took a sudden day off, so I had to work an extra hour. I'm tired and hungry. There's a Yoshigyu just one minute away from my workplace, so I decided to grab a meal there before heading home. Tonight, my girlfriend is not around. I'll be alone when I get back. - Beef Bowl Special Serving 800 yen It seems that the prices have gone up since I last came here. It used to be around 690 yen... When was that? I might get laughed at for saying that, but oh well. After trying the food, I realized that the quality and taste of the beef can vary depending on the location and timing of the visit. I got a slightly tough and less fatty meat this time. Not really delicious... And maybe because I usually eat delicious freshly cooked rice at home, I felt dissatisfied with the rice for the first time. Hmm... The taste also feels somewhat bland and vague. Was it always like this? Quite disappointing. Feeling let down. There may be some points that are unavoidable due to the size and structure of the restaurant, but it was a bit of a letdown. The only relief was that the staff were efficiently cleaning up, but it was unsettling. During the meal, the delivery work started right in front of me, and ingredients and materials were piled up on the counter across from me, which was a bit of a mood killer. The counter had nothing written on it, just the menus scattered haphazardly, so some customers almost sat down unknowingly and had to be stopped by the staff. Phew. Thank you for the meal. I had the Negi-tama Gyudon at Yoshinoya, a place I happened to stop by. I like Negi-tama Gyudon, so I often eat it at other gyudon restaurants as well. It's not particularly special at Yoshinoya, but the combination of green onions and egg is good. I didn't think about the price too much and got the large size, which cost 786 yen. With prices like this, it's becoming less casual to eat gyudon.

I went in the morning on a regular day. It is conveniently located right by the north exit of Kinshicho Station. I ordered the Ham, Egg, and Natto Set Meal for 437 yen from the morning limited menu available from 4-11 am. It came with miso soup, salad, and you can get a free extra serving of rice. This is the best way to start the day. I was able to kickstart my day energetically. Thank you for the meal.

I came to eat the rumored delicious oyakodon. When ordering, they said, "It will take a little time." Unlike gyudon, I assumed that oyakodon is a two-order dish. The oyakodon that came out was delicious as rumored. Thank you for the meal.

I had dinner at only one place and was only half full, so I decided to stop by here. I had heard that the curry here, which was renovated in February, was delicious and had piqued my interest. In fact, I have never thought the curry at Yoshinoya was delicious. Especially the last curry I had was quite unpleasant, so I have not visited Yoshinoya since then. That's how much of an impact it had on me. (I believe that the curry served at the restaurant that supervised the last curry is undoubtedly delicious.) I arrived around 7:50 PM on Saturday. I sanitized my hands and sat at the counter seats in the back. I looked at the black curry menu and ordered the Beef Black Curry for 498 yen. The Beef Black Curry arrived promptly. It had beef topped with pickled ginger, and I sprinkled shichimi chili pepper on the beef and half of the black curry. The curry was different from the previous ones and was delicious. It had the sweetness of onions and fruits, a moderate spiciness, and a well-balanced use of spices. I think it falls under the European-style curry genre. The fact that the curry was piping hot was also good. The black curry did not have any ingredients in it. I ate the beef without mixing it with the curry until halfway through. Since it's the same as gyudon (beef bowl), it's naturally delicious. From the second half onwards, I submerged the beef in the curry sauce and enjoyed it. I remember thinking that it was better not to mix the beef with the curry in the previous version, but this time it was delicious even when combined. Just as I finished eating, I noticed that the TV in the restaurant was showing "Job Tune's VS Super Top-Class Chefs." I thought they were showing past VTRs, but when I checked the TV schedule on my smartphone, I realized it was a real-time program. What a coincidence! It was a joint project between Yoshinoya and Katsuya, with Yoshinoya's gyudon, beef sukiyaki set meal, karaage set meal, tonjiru (pork miso soup), and stamina super-sized donburi being judged. Unfortunately, the black curry was not included. Since it was a product that had been on sale for less than 20 days, the filming must have been completed before that. I would have liked to hear the evaluation by the super top-class chefs. Until now, Yoshinoya was almost always gyudon (beef bowl) for me, but if it's this curry, I would like to eat it again. At Yoshinoya, I always eat a regular beef bowl on my way home drunk. This time, I tried their curry. It's called "Niku Daku Gyukuro Curry for 657 yen." I ordered the large size for an extra 55 yen. I attached a photo of the actual dish, the menu photo, and the online menu photo. The amount of meat is definitely different. The curry is pitch black. I wonder what ingredient they use to achieve this black color. The taste is unexpectedly spicy. It's probably not suitable for children. Tonkatsu goes well with curry, but beef belly meat also pairs nicely. Because the curry is spicy, the beef tastes sweet. But I still think it can't beat curry from a specialty shop. That's how I feel these days.

In Kinshicho, there are Yoshinoya restaurants on both sides of the station, which is convenient. You don't have to worry about the south exit or north exit. Among the various menu items I've tried at Yoshinoya, my favorite is still the "Gyudon, extra large size, with extra sauce." It costs 508 yen. I also ordered a "fresh vegetable salad" and "pickles" because I think it's healthier to eat vegetables. The Gyudon at Yoshinoya is a perfect combination of beef soaked in a sweet and savory sauce and rice covered in plenty of sauce. The harmony of slightly fatty beef and sweet onions is wonderful. I like Yoshinoya's Gyudon because it has a sense of unity. Unlike other fast food companies, Yoshinoya was established in 1899 in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, and has a history of over 100 years. One of the differences with other fast food companies is the "payment method," as they are famous for not having ticket machines. Payments are mainly made at the register, emphasizing communication between customers and staff, reflecting a traditional culture that Yoshinoya has cultivated over the years. Yoshinoya's Gyudon is served quickly, so you can enjoy your meal even when you're short on time.

Recently, I've been craving meat but I couldn't just casually go out for lunch, and it's morning now. As I was passing by, I found Yoshigyu and decided to stop by. I was actually interested in the rice bowl dishes, but they seemed too filling, so I opted for the Ham and Egg set with a topping change. Despite thinking I wouldn't finish the rice, I ended up eating it all. The ham and fried egg were really delicious. I quickly finished the rice. This meal gives me a good energy boost for the morning.

When it comes time to order, I often find myself torn between the beef and salmon set, and end up ordering the salmon set half the time. In the end, I am satisfied as long as I can eat that meat. I don't know how many times I've eaten it, but it's a mysterious food that never gets boring no matter how much you eat. On this day, I had the beef bowl set with pickled vegetables. I topped it with an egg to make it creamy, ate it quickly like a porridge, and finished it in 5 minutes. I often use it when I'm short on time.

During lunchtime, my spouse and I had a meal at the Yoshinoya Kinshicho Station North Exit store. It was a small store with only a counter, and they also offered takeout service through a small window. It was quite crowded during lunchtime, with the small store being full and customers coming in and out constantly. It wasn't the kind of place where you could relax and savor your meal. If you're looking for a leisurely lunch, this place is not for you (laughs). The service was provided by a foreign staff member who was working hard despite the busy atmosphere. We ordered the Yoshinoya regular beef bowl set with miso soup and salad, and my companion ordered the RIZAP avocado shrimp bowl. It arrived in about 10 minutes. Fast, cheap, and tasty, the reliable Yoshinoya flavor. This taste is addictive. It's wallet-friendly for the common people. We paid 1260 yen for the two of us. Our stomachs were full.

At standing soba noodle shops, there are people who order with a lovely request like "extra green onions, please!" However, unless I become a regular customer, I am the type who cannot make such requests. Due to a recent poor harvest, the price of green onions has soared, resulting in new buttons being added to the ticket machines for extra green onions with an additional charge. There are also messages posted by the company president stating that the amount of green onions should not vary depending on the customer, which seems to be directed towards the part-time staff but is visible to us as well. I didn't know that there was such a service at gyudon (beef bowl) restaurants, but now it has officially been added to the menu and comes with an extra charge. Well, now you can order without worry, but if you accidentally order a large portion, it can add up to quite a sum. But you know, I've always thought, wouldn't it be nice if something like this existed? Just extra green onions, instead of extra everything, haha.

I visited for lunch and had the "Maru-toku lunch" for 540 yen. It included a regular-sized beef bowl, pork miso soup, and vegetable salad. It was definitely a good deal. Recently, I have been mainly having the beef sukiyaki meal at Yoshinoya, but price-wise, this one is more affordable. I visited for lunch on a regular day. I was in Kinshicho for work. I didn't have much time, so I decided to try the RIZAP Beef Salad that I had been curious about since it was released at the Yoshinoya in front of the station. I sat at the counter and, for some reason, felt a little embarrassed while ordering the "RIZAP Beef Salad" (540 yen; tax included). As expected, it took longer to serve than a regular beef bowl. I poured the Japanese-style soy dressing on the parts other than the beef. It's nice that it uses ingredients like broccoli and beans that I like. The taste is not bad, and there is a satisfying amount of vegetables. I've been into healthy menus lately, and in that sense, it's quite well done. However, I still prefer to eat this seasoned beef with rice. If you go to Yoshinoya frequently, it's a different story, but I'm not sure if I would reorder this. Thank you for the meal.

There is one Yoshinoya near the north exit and one near the south exit of Kinshicho Station, which is a very balanced arrangement. However, both locations have limited seating, and during meal times, the seats are usually full. It may be faster to use the take-out option instead of waiting for a table. The interior of the restaurant only has counter seats, utilizing the small space efficiently. I ordered: - Gyudon, large size (480 yen, discounted to 400 yen with a commuter pass): This is a new menu item for spring 2019. It has a generous amount of beef compared to the regular size, making it a slightly luxurious gyudon. It's perfect for those who want a hearty meal without increasing the rice portion and overall calorie intake. - Tamago (60 yen): I was worried that the amount of egg might not be enough for the large size gyudon, but it turned out to be sufficient. Eggs are essential for Yoshinoya's richly flavored gyudon. It's the cheapest, delicious, and nutritious side menu item. The staff at the south exit location consisted mostly of foreigners and the service was decent, but at the north exit location, the staff were all Japanese and the service was efficient. It seems that in addition to taste and affordability, good service is also important at Yoshinoya. If you are looking for a well-located Yoshinoya with good customer service in Kinshicho, this is the place to go.

One night, feeling a bit hungry around Kinshicho Station, I decided to head to the always reliable Yoshinoya Kinshicho Station North Exit store, which is open 24 hours a day. As I sat down and looked at the menu, something caught my eye - the Negi Shio Chicken Bowl! This dish is a limited-time summer menu item that Yoshinoya started offering at all their stores nationwide on May 24, 2018. I had to try it. The price was 490 yen (tax included). It's important to note that some stores may not offer this item, so be sure to check the Yoshinoya official website for details. The calorie count for the different sizes are as follows: Regular: 629kcal; Large: 720kcal; Extra Large: 834kcal; Special: 1,009kcal. I also ordered a side of potato salad (130 yen, tax included) because I love potato salad. The dish arrived, looking delicious with the small packet of yuzu pepper on the side. The bowl consisted of rice topped with chicken thigh meat seasoned with negi shio sauce, chopped green onions, and white sesame seeds. The aroma of the negi shio sauce was enticing. I sprinkled the yuzu pepper on top and dug in. The rice was well-coated with the finely chopped onion-infused salt sauce, creating a deep flavor. The refreshing chicken thigh meat paired perfectly with the sauce, and the crunchy green onions added a nice texture. The yuzu pepper I added enhanced the flavor of the meat. I love yuzu pepper, so this was a great addition for me. This dish is so delicious that I wish it was available year-round, not just in the summer. The potato salad was also tasty as always. Recently, in Tokyo, the first cold wind of the season has blown, signaling the transition to winter. The mornings and evenings are extremely cold, and as someone who feels the cold easily, I start craving a hot pot meal. Feeling my sentiments (not really), the major beef bowl chain Yoshinoya has once again started offering their Beef Sukiyaki Hot Pot meal this year. Previously only available in-store, this menu can now be taken out. Additionally, from November 29th to December 5th, it is being offered for a limited time in-store as well (some stores may not carry it). With the added directive from the legendary trader HIDEpon senpai to go and eat it, I had no choice but to go. So, I headed to the Yoshinoya Kameido Station North Exit store. Let's go inside. As many of you may know, Yoshinoya's Beef Sukiyaki Hot Pot meal, which they started selling in 2013, was a huge hit (at least in my memory). Following this success, Matsuya and Sukiya also started working on releasing hot pot menus, which makes one wonder if the "Beef Sukiyaki Hot Pot meal" has fundamentally changed the way beef bowl chain restaurants operate. So, I quickly ordered the Beef Bowl Family set. Just a heads up, it only comes with meat, so if you want rice, you need to order the rice and egg set separately (¥170, tax included). Since the large size is free, I ordered the large size. And here it is. Boom. What a quantity. The overflowing meat in the pot is impressive. Will I be able to finish it? Looking from the side, it's on fire. It's piping hot. So much meat... The pot is packed with meat. There are hardly any vegetables, just a few on the side. For those meat lovers who think they don't need vegetables, this is perfect. The rumor of a "Niagara of meat" seems to be true. The broth is plentiful, and it feels like it could spill if you're not careful with the amount. Nevertheless, even after pouring so much meat that the rice is hidden, the pot still looks calm as if saying there's plenty of room left for more meat. Now, let's dig in. Delicious. It's the usual Yoshinoya taste. However, with this much meat, I start getting bored and craving other things like vegetables. But this is a hardcore pot, so there's only meat... Eating and eating, the meat doesn't seem to decrease much. I'm getting quite full. And with the large serving of rice... Just a little more... And, finished. I feel like I've participated in an eating competition. It's a refreshing feeling to have eaten all the way through. This is the first time I've truly savored meat to my heart's content. Since realizing how difficult it is to master the basics through work, I have come to appreciate how amazing Yoshinoya is for consistently providing the same taste no matter where you are in the country. It may just be a beef bowl, but it's still a beef bowl. And since it's soul food, there's nothing to complain about. Thank you for always delivering the taste I expect! On this day, I enjoyed the regular beef bowl with extra sauce and a raw egg.
