A friend from afar wanted to have a kaiseki meal near Kyoto Station, so I searched on Tabelog and made a reservation here. We reserved the "Kai" course for 7,458 yen, which featured dishes using conger eel, perfect for summer. Although the restaurant is located inside a hotel, the hospitality shown by the hotel staff at the entrance was impressive. The seasonal dishes were not only visually appealing but also meticulously prepared, leaving my friend thoroughly impressed. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

I made a reservation for the 7,458 yen "Kai" course at this restaurant in the vicinity of Kyoto Station, as my friend from afar wanted to have a kaiseki meal. The restaurant, located inside a hotel, had excellent hospitality as we were guided to our table promptly upon informing the hotel staff at the entrance. The dishes, using summer ingredients such as conger eel, were beautifully presented and meticulously prepared, impressing my friend. We were able to feel the season in each dish. We were both very impressed and would like to visit again in the future.

I have used this shop about 1-2 times a year and have always been satisfied when leaving. However, this time ended with a slightly disappointing result. While the hospitality was still as good as ever, the contents and quality of the menu items seemed to have deteriorated significantly for the price. Despite the recent rise in prices, the overall experience fell short of expectations. It's a bit sad. Thank you for the meal.

It was a restaurant that was skilled in presenting the dishes. We made a reservation for a family celebration during our trip to Kyoto. The dishes were delicate and delicious, and the atmosphere of the restaurant, the presentation of the dishes, and the service were all excellent. It truly felt like a four-star hotel Japanese restaurant. I realized how happy I am to have reached an age where I can enjoy Japanese cuisine.

This was my first visit in a while. Both the interior and private rooms at Thousand are very stylish, and the staff are of high quality, making it a place where you can enjoy dinner with peace of mind. This time, I hosted a party here with a course menu costing 15,000 yen. The beautiful tableware added to the enjoyment of the meal with all five senses. The best part was the final dish of cooked rice. I would like to use this place regularly. Thank you for the meal.

I used this restaurant for the first time. I made a reservation in advance for a 3-tier bento box with 6 items and a drink. Since I am pregnant and avoiding raw food, I informed them in advance and they kindly changed the sashimi to tempura and checked with me about other ingredients before serving. They also brought a non-caffeine tea from the nearby cafe for me to drink after the meal, which was very considerate. Each dish was beautifully presented and the dashi broth was delicious. The other ingredients were also tasty, and I was quite full before reaching the rice. The dessert was a slightly firm panna cotta, which I personally would have preferred a lighter option. Overall, the atmosphere was wonderful and I would love to visit again!

Kizahashi-san's second visit in a year, delicious... Starting with the yuzu tea, followed by yuba, fugu soup, tessa, hassun, wagyu, and more. Very satisfied! Truly impressive, coming from Gion Sasaki-san. It was very delicious!

THE THOUSAND KYOTO offers accommodation with breakfast included. You can choose between Japanese or Western breakfast. The Japanese breakfast at Kizahashi is highly rated. The restaurant has a separate entrance and is located up a large staircase from the entrance. It may not be very noticeable from the elevator on the right side. You may have to wait outside in chairs for a few minutes before being seated at a table. The atmosphere inside is calm and the window-side seats are spacious, allowing for a leisurely meal. The dashi, eggs, and rice are carefully prepared, and the dashi in particular is excellent, making for a delicious breakfast. Having a ryokan-level breakfast at a hotel is much appreciated, and it balances well with the hotel's overall quality. The breakfast costs 3,800 yen (excluding tax) and includes: greeting dashi (made from dried bonito flakes), ohitashi (boiled vegetables in soy sauce), chawanmushi (savory egg custard), dashimaki tamago (rolled omelette), grilled saury, simmered tuna, tofu with miso, pickles, red miso soup, and dessert (apple, blueberry, shiso jelly).

Thanks to taking the Shinkansen this time, I can enjoy the taste of Kyoto as a final meal before heading back! Lately, I have been visiting Kyoto more often, but driving there doesn't allow me to fully savor the experience. Most restaurants in Kyoto have their last lunch reservation at 12:30, and since I have breakfast, I looked for a place that opens later. Kizahashi is located near the station and the chef is a top sommelier in Japan. They offer a simple yet surprisingly fulfilling course menu with a variety of delicious dishes. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and the service is excellent. I particularly enjoyed the wine and sake recommendations by the sommelier. Overall, I was impressed by the elegance and value of the course. I would love to visit again, perhaps for an overnight stay next time.

Located inside the Thousand Hotel Kyoto, I visited for the first time and found it to have a chic and modern atmosphere. This time, I had dinner there. The course consisted of 7 dishes, and the menu for the day was as follows: - Pre-meal delight: Perilla juice - Appetizer: Corn tofu, octopus, mizuna, and chimaki sushi - Soup: Monkfish liver, winter melon, shiso, plum, and yuzu - Assorted sashimi: Bonito and swordfish - Palate cleanser: Cold noodles with smoked ayu, tomato, avocado, zucchini, and citrus vinegar - Grilled dish: Beef fillet, corn, edamame, Fushimi chili pepper, and wasabi greens - Hot dish: Grilled sea bass with eggplant and temple-style miso - Rice dish: Eel rice with rolled omelette, pickles, and soup - Dessert: Peach mousse The dishes were made with abundant seasonal ingredients, and each dish exuded a sense of the season. The delicate and careful flavors made me truly appreciate being Japanese. I highly recommend this place for special occasions with loved ones! Thank you for the wonderful meal! ★

During the COVID-19 pandemic, there are many things to be mindful of when dining out. In such times, dining at a larger restaurant in a hotel provides a sense of security. This time, we had a small banquet at this restaurant. Having a private room is truly appreciated. The staff's service is excellent. As for the food, the presentation is beautiful, the ingredients are carefully selected, the craftsmanship is top-notch, and the creativity is outstanding. I would love to visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

-2021 Kyoto Trip⑤-2021/11/XX (Breakfast)I stayed at "The Thousand Kyoto" for multiple nights, so I decided to have a traditional Japanese breakfast on the first morning. This time, breakfast was included in the accommodation package, but if you were to order it separately, it would cost around 5,000 yen. I was seated at a table, so I couldn't confirm the counter seats, but the atmosphere inside the restaurant was very calm and luxurious.■KIZAHASHI Breakfast @ 4,724 yenFirst, they asked if I wanted rice or porridge, and I chose rice. The starter was a dish of bonito dashi broth with boiled komatsuna greens and mushrooms. The aroma of the bonito dashi was exceptionally delicious. Then, the main dishes were served on a tray, including rolled omelette, grilled fish, tofu, roasted seaweed, three small side dishes, three types of pickles, clay pot rice, miso soup, and fruits. The mountain pepper and dried baby sardine and walnut simmered dish left a lasting impression, but the highlight was the glossy, sweet, and delicious rice. The miso soup with mushrooms was also of very high quality. The grilled fish, which I believe was saury, was a bit disappointing as it seemed reheated, but overall, I was very satisfied. This Japanese breakfast was quite high-quality, wouldn't you say?

We used the Japanese restaurant "KIZAHASHI" at THE THOUSAND KYOTO for a lunch meeting. We opted for the "KAZE" lunch course (9,500 yen) this time. The menu included: - Appetizer: Ginkgo nut tofu, persimmon namasu, salmon roe, chrysanthemum greens - Soup: Kamasu fish, daikon rice cake, blowfish - Sashimi platter: Tuna and sea bream - Grilled dish: Pike conger eel, matsutake mushroom, scallop, greens, shimeji mushrooms, turnip, apple jelly - Hot dish: Grilled sweet sea bream scales, grated turnip in broth, black soybean, ginkgo nut - Rice dish: Lily root rice, pickles, red miso soup - Dessert: Chestnut cake The restaurant explained that they use dried kelp and the backbone of sea bream to make the broth, which was incredibly delicious. Especially, the grilled sweet sea bream scales and grated turnip in broth were outstanding. The crispy scales of the sea bream, along with the turnip and broth, created a perfect harmony. We truly enjoyed the deliciousness of Japanese cuisine. The restaurant's serene atmosphere and flavors were a delight just a few minutes away from Kyoto Station. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

On weekdays, the restaurant opens at 7:00 AM and when I entered, it wasn't too crowded. I tried the Japanese breakfast at "SCALAE" which cost ¥4724 including tax, a bit pricey! It seems like guests staying at the hotel or those with breakfast included get a discount. The food arrived 16 minutes after ordering, and I liked that it had small shrimp and seaweed in it. The rice porridge came with sweet red bean paste, but it was delicious even without it. I ordered a second serving of the porridge, which arrived in 9 minutes. It's really tasty, but considering the price, I might not come back anytime soon. The staff were friendly and provided good service. Thank you for the meal.

We are not fans of yellowtail, so we mentioned it to the staff and they served us Shinshu salmon instead. It was the most delicious salmon we've ever had, with no strong taste. Thank you very much. We also enjoyed the soup, sashimi, and appetizers, all beautifully presented and delicious. We had lotus root rice cooked in a pot, and the crispy rice at the bottom was amazing. For dessert, if it had been fruit, it would have been perfect. There were only a few groups of customers at this time of year, so we were able to completely avoid crowds. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I had a three-tiered bento box for lunch at a kaiseki restaurant located right next to Kyoto Station in the hotel THE THOUSAND KYOTO. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and design, and the beautifully presented dishes do not disappoint in taste. The lunch was satisfying with generous portions. It seems like the restaurant may have recently opened, as its rating on review sites like Tabelog is not yet established, but I believe it will quickly earn more stars. I learned for the first time while researching this restaurant that it is written in kanji as 階 and read as Kizahashi. This is probably taken from the grand staircase in front of the hotel.

At Kyoto Station, I had a belated Mother's Day dinner at the restaurant Ukihashi at the Granvia Hotel. We couldn't eat eel, sweetfish, or sushi as my mother is picky, so we quickly changed to Century Hotel. We called ahead and inquired about the availability. It doesn't seem like it's a newly opened place, but the hotel and restaurant have a great atmosphere. It wasn't very crowded, only two other parties. The food was stylish and delicious, with a focus on Japanese cuisine. Everything was so tasty, and my mother was very happy. The seating arrangement was spacious and elegant, making it a perfect place to relax. It's conveniently located near Kyoto Station and highly recommended. Thank you for the wonderful meal! ♡

I visited the Japanese restaurant "KIZAHASHI" located inside "THE THOUSAND KYOTO," which is conveniently close to Kyoto Station. The hotel, which opened in January of this year, is very beautiful. The restaurant is located on the second floor, accessible by climbing the staircase that extends from the front. I had made a reservation in advance and arrived right at the opening time. The interior of the restaurant is bright and spacious, with natural light streaming in. There are about 60 seats available, including counter seats and table seats, and there are also private rooms (which I did not confirm during this visit). As there were four of us, we were seated at a table. We visited for lunch, and the lunch menu offers four options: - Bento Box "SEN 千" for 4,500 yen - Kaiseki Course "KAZE かぜ" for 7,500 yen - Kaiseki Course "MIZU みず" for 12,000 yen - Kaiseki Course "HIKARI ひかり" for 16,000 yen *Tax and service charge (10%) not included Since it was lunchtime, we opted for the 4,500 yen "SEN 千" which is positioned as a bento box. The contents of the meal included: - Appetizer (Chips, Tofu with Miso) - Hassun (Firefly Squid, White Asparagus Jelly, White Wood Ear Mushroom, Green Soybeans, Shredded Cabbage with Vinegar Dressing, Egg Vinegar, Green Pea Sprouts) - Sashimi (Bonito Tataki, Green Onion and Ginger, Salt) - Three-tiered Bento Box (Clam Chawanmushi, Bamboo Shoots with Tofu Skin, Plum Paste, Simmered Sea Bream Roe, Sweetened Quince, Edamame, Octopus with Vinegar and Sesame Dressing, Fiddlehead Fern, Myoga Ginger, Grilled Young Sea Bream with Kinome Leaves, Tempura of Shiitake Mushroom and Lotus Leaf, Mini Tomato Pickled in Sweet Vinegar, Fuki Bud Pickles, Young Bamboo Shoots, Wakame Seaweed, Fuki Butterbur, Carrot, Moroccan Green Beans, Kinome Leaves) - Rice Dish (Bamboo Shoot Rice, Red Miso Soup, Pickles) - Dessert (Sakura Ice Cream Sandwich) - Drink: Oolong Tea, etc. Due to time constraints, we had requested a quick meal, but it took almost an hour. The presentation was more like a lunch course than a bento box, and the seasonal ingredients such as cherry blossoms and bamboo shoots were beautifully arranged. The grilled sea bream was also quite good, and I would like to visit for dinner as well. In the evening, they offer three course options priced at 8,000 yen, 12,000 yen, and 16,000 yen. *Tax and service charge (10%) not included It seems reasonably priced and enjoyable. The atmosphere is nice, and with private rooms available, it can be used for various occasions. I look forward to visiting again. Photo: XS

I stayed at the hotel using a plan with a discount and breakfast included to commemorate the opening. I had a leisurely breakfast. It was a new hotel, so there were few people in the morning and I could spend a quiet time. It seemed that no one chose Japanese food, so it was almost like a private room until the end. I lose my appetite when it's noisy and crowded. haha. They were considerate enough to serve hot dishes hot. The rice came in a small pot and the finishing was done on the table, so you can enjoy freshly cooked rice. NICE! The dashi was also solid, and I was happy to be able to enjoy Japanese food from the morning.
