I wanted to treat myself a little in the afternoon, so I visited this restaurant. One of the highlights is being able to enjoy a meal while overlooking Kyoto Tower. From the entrance of the restaurant, the staff will guide you in a swift and elegant manner. The service is top-notch, especially for a hotel lunch. I sat at the teppanyaki counter seats. It's a luxurious style where each group is assigned a chef. The dishes are cooked in real-time in front of you, and served one by one while engaging in conversation. The hospitality is truly impressive. This time, both my partner and I ordered the chef's recommended lunch, the "Ohara" for 7,500 yen. It included: - Appetizer - Grilled conger eel and Kyoto eggplant terrine with the fragrance of fresh ginger - Soup of the day - Teppanyaki scallops with champagne sauce, seasonal vegetables, and truffle - Teppanyaki of 60g domestic beef fillet with sansho garlic chips - Grilled vegetables, salad, rice, miso soup, pickles - Dessert, drink The chef cooks and serves each dish with precision right in front of you. Watching the chef's skillful techniques while waiting adds to the experience. We started with a draft beer. The grilled scallops in the middle were absolutely delicious. Topped with grilled baby corn and green sauce, it was a heavenly combination. At one point, they presented Kyoto matsutake mushrooms, which was tempting, but upon hearing the price, I had to think twice. It seemed like a strategy to increase the average customer spending, but it's not something you can easily indulge in. The main steak dish was introduced with the actual beef and cooked in front of us, served in two portions. We enjoyed it with three sauces, rock salt, and wasabi. The richness of the meat and the unique texture of Japanese beef were delightful. However, if you want to feel completely satisfied with a hearty portion of meat, you might need to spend a bit more. I opted for garlic rice as my last dish. Overall, the service and atmosphere were excellent, but in terms of cost satisfaction, there's room for improvement.
