Today I came to Tamachi for a farewell party. I visited this place for the second party. "Grilled chicken skin 580 yen" and "Grilled chicken hormone 980 yen." I'm quite full, so I only ordered two appetizers, but I drank a lot of oolong highballs. The sauce for the grilled chicken skin and the salt for the grilled chicken hormone were both good for appetizers.

Located about a 5-minute walk from Tamachi Station, this izakaya on Keio Nakadori offers a lunch menu as well. In addition to the regular menu, they also have seasonal limited-time offerings, so I decided to try the "Nanban Don" from that selection. I'm a sucker for anything labeled "limited edition" after all. The restaurant seems to attract mostly salarymen due to its location. I placed my order and the food arrived in just a few minutes. Perhaps they pre-fry some items to speed up service? The dishes, while not piping hot, featured crispy fried chicken with a crunchy coating that was quite satisfying. You can also order for takeout without entering the restaurant, using the order form at the entrance. If you're concerned about crowds, this might be a good option to consider.

I often visited Jidori-Tei in Osaka and I love their Chicken Nanban, so I decided to stop by. It was my first time trying their set meal style, and it wasn't bad. The amount of tartar sauce seemed to be more in Osaka, and the meat could have been a bit softer... or was that just my imagination? Well, the tartar sauce was definitely more over there, but maybe it's because of the set meal. I want to come back for a drink once the state of emergency is lifted and check it out.

An izakaya located in a shopping street about a 3-minute walk from Sannomiya Station. I visited for lunch on a weekday. They offer both takeout bento boxes and dine-in options. Since it was not crowded, I decided to eat inside. I ordered the Chicken Nanban set meal (800 yen). They also serve draft beer for lunch, a medium-sized glass for 300 yen, so some customers were enjoying it.
[Chicken Nanban Set Meal (800 yen)]
The meal was served in about 3 minutes after ordering. Since it's an izakaya specializing in chicken dishes, I had some expectations. However, the Chicken Nanban was a frozen cutlet with tartar sauce on top. There were two pieces of cutlet, so it was quite a generous portion. On the table, there were condiments like red pepper, sansho pepper, and Sriracha sauce for flavor variations. It came with cold tofu and instant miso soup.
It was a quick and satisfying lunch. Thank you for the meal.

At the end of January, there was a prediction of snow in the Kanto region, so I was ordered to stay overnight for work the next day. It happens a few times a year when there is a risk of transportation being paralyzed due to typhoons or snow, so I cannot be late under any circumstances. I decided to have dinner alone and ended up at a restaurant called "Satsuma Local Cuisine Specialty Grilled Chicken Jidori-tei" in Tamachi, Mita area. It seems to be an izakaya specializing in Satsuma local chicken. I didn't know about this place before, but they are well-established with around 10 stores in the Tokyo metropolitan area. The recommended dish is the charcoal-grilled chicken skewers, especially the famous charcoal-grilled chicken belly. The restaurant was quite busy even though it was snowing outside. I had some drinks and ordered various dishes, including fried tofu, grilled chicken neck with salt, and the specialty charcoal-grilled chicken belly. The food was delicious, but the portions were quite large for one person. I also mistakenly ordered the specialty grilled chicken thigh, which was tough to chew but full of flavor. Overall, dining alone was not the best experience in terms of value for money. But today, I felt like I turned into a chicken and could fly in the sky. Maybe staying overnight was the right decision after all.

Located in the Keio Nakadori building in Tamachi, the chicken dishes at this restaurant are delicious. The Chicken Nanban is especially tasty. They also offer shochu at a reasonable price, so I ended up ordering a whole bottle. The photo I took didn't turn out great, but the food was definitely worth it.

Well, it's a mediocre kind of place. Just a typical izakaya with nothing particularly outstanding in terms of food or drinks. The staff's customer service was nothing special, more like they were just going through the motions. There were even some unfriendly staff members, but I guess everyone has their own personality so I didn't dwell on it. I visited with a friend and the food was served promptly, which was a plus. However, overall, I didn't find anything exceptional about the food, drinks, or service, so I probably won't be going back. I was disappointed as I had high hopes.

Sashimi platter with two types: The dish provided had more variety than the name suggests, with three different types of fresh and delicious sashimi. The portion was generous and the presentation was beautiful. It looked even better than the small photo in the menu book.
Grilled chicken thigh: Despite its simple appearance, this dish was packed with delicious flavor. I would definitely order it again due to its taste and portion size. The hot temperature of the dish was impressive.
Sweet potato chips: These thinly sliced chips were freshly fried in-house and served hot. It was a unique and tasty menu item that you don't often see in homes or restaurants. The portion size was good, and both the food and drinks went down smoothly.

I visited for lunch and ordered the Chicken Nanban set meal. What I got was two thin, frozen and overcooked chicken cutlets, cold miso soup, and dry rice. If I closed my eyes while eating, I wouldn't even be able to tell what kind of meat it was. It made me want to joke, "Is this a cheap snack chicken cutlet?"

I didn't eat much, but I think the food is probably delicious. There was a wide variety of shochu. I had a good time with the young people I went with, so I wanted to record it.
