Title as it is, at the lunch business of Izakaya Mikumiku, they offer Amami Oshima's local cuisine made by Noborie-san. As you enter the narrow crank alley, the lunch owner was distributing flyers, guiding us to the underground shop. By looking at the menu on the walls, you can tell that it is an izakaya, but for lunch, they only offer 2 dishes: "Chicken Rice Bowl" and "Tare Karaage Bowl". Both are strong menu items like a cleanup batter. "Chicken Rice" is said to have been created during the Satsuma era to entertain officials of the Satsuma clan. In Amami, rice, chicken, and eggs are served separately, but here they are served in a single bowl in a bowl form. On the other hand, the island specialty? Tare Karaage is also served in a bowl, but here you can add one piece of Karaage for an additional ¥130. They use domestically produced brand chicken "Mio Sakura Chicken" raised around Mt. Fuji. - "Chicken Rice Bowl" ¥880 A warm dashi broth is generously poured over this soup-type bowl, similar to ochazuke. On top of the rice, there are toppings such as rolled omelet, shredded chicken, and seaweed. I have had a long-lived Ryuhai, a court dish in Okinawa main island. I put side dishes such as carrots, mustard greens, and shredded egg on rice, and poured a medicinal soup over it to make it like ochazuke. I assume it is related to that dish. Thanks to the soup, it goes down smoothly. The chicken is not particularly strongly seasoned, and the overall taste is determined by the soup broth. It's a refreshing bowl. - "Tare Karaage Bowl" ¥500 It's a one-coin dish. They start frying after you order, so it's freshly fried. Vegetables such as cabbage are laid on top of the rice, with a dressing-like mayonnaise poured over them, and three pieces of Karaage are placed on top. I really like this combination of mayo vegetables, Karaage, and rice. There used to be a similar menu at a bento shop that I often ate at. Of course, this one is more delicious. Because it's Mio Sakura Chicken. It's so tender. Freshly fried is also good. I couldn't help but gobble it up. In the end, I should have added more Karaage. Thank you for the meal. The chicken rice bowl, which seems to have been arranged to suit the common people's taste, like a court dish, is a low-calorie meal that seems suitable for a diet. I feel like I want to visit Amami Oshima. There are direct flights from Narita, I heard.
