✳️ Kounyusha @ Yurakucho Kounyusha is an established dairy product manufacturer founded in Kumamoto in 1883. Sakura An Butter Dorayaki: Dorayaki filled with sakura an mixed with cherry blossom preserves and Kounyusha butter cream. The Kounyusha butter was pure white with a hint of saltiness, making it refreshing. Chewy Strawberry Milk Choux: A generous amount of amaou strawberry jam, mixed with Kounyusha butter, strawberries, and milk cream that is light and fluffy. Butter Sandwich: The black bean dough is crispy, and the butter cream is refreshing. The chestnut dough is soft and crumbly, with a delightful chestnut aroma right from the moment you open it.

Purchased a souvenir at Kounyusha. This time, I used the souvenir shop "Kounyusha TOKYO" located in the food court on the basement floor of ITOCiA in Yurakucho, Tokyo. Kounyusha seems to be a dairy product manufacturer from Kumamoto Prefecture. It's quite impressive that they have a store in the food court where there are many foreign brands. I bought the "Matcha Langue de Chat". There were also hojicha flavored ones, but I was interested in this one. The container is small for the amount, so be careful as some recipients may complain about it being "too little" if they are picky. The "Matcha Langue de Chat" is harder than I expected. It's not exactly crispy, but it doesn't have a crunchy texture either. Be cautious if the recipient is an elderly person with dental concerns. On the other hand, the taste is good. The choice of matcha flavor is slightly bitter, but it seems like it would be well-received by everyone. Even children might not dislike it.

A Japanese and Western confectionery shop located on the basement floor of Yurakucho ITOCiA, just a 1-minute walk from Yurakucho Station. The restaurant had a Foodlog rating of 3.20 at the time of visit in February 2022. This shop is the only real store in Tokyo operated by a long-established dairy product manufacturer from Kumamoto with over 135 years of history. Their concept is to use their proud dairy products to create Western and Japanese sweets. The chewy Kinako cream puff and salted butter dorayaki are highly recommended. I purchased the salted butter dorayaki (216 yen). The salted butter cream is white in color, without the typical yellow tint of butter. It has a milky flavor and a light, refreshing creaminess. The saltiness is not overpowering, and it pairs well with the mildly sweet red bean paste. The size is relatively small, but it's just right for a quick snack. Overall, it was a delicious treat, showcasing the expertise of a dairy product manufacturer. I would love to try their other sweets in the future. Thank you for the meal.

Yurakucho Station, Ginza Station, and Hibiya Station are all within walking distance. Located on B1F of Yurakucho Itosia, it can be accessed directly from JR Yurakucho Station Central Exit by escalator or from Tokyo Metro C9 Exit. The restaurant's name means "serving the nation by promoting the widespread use of milk." Established in 1883, Kounyusha is a long-established dairy industry with one of the largest milk storage and processing capacities in Japan, excluding Hokkaido. Their salted butter is made using the traditional European method of metal churn, resulting in a smooth and low-moisture butter. The reviewer tried various items such as sweet potato butter dorayaki, lemon salt butter dorayaki, cheesy cream puff, Earl Grey tea cream puff, and a sandwich set. The reviewer found the sweet potato dorayaki to be moist with delicious sweet potato filling, the lemon salt butter dorayaki to have a refreshing lemon flavor, the cheesy cream puff to be similar to Pon de Ring with a creamy cheese filling, and the Earl Grey tea cream puff to lack the tea flavor. The sandwich set included chestnut butter, black bean butter, and soy milk raisin sandwiches, with the soy milk raisin sandwich being the reviewer's favorite. Overall, the reviewer recommends trying different items to find your preferred taste.

First Visit 202108 (No.2986) On the day, I was looking for new sweets in the Ginza area, but it seems like I have exhausted all options in this area. So, I decided to visit this shop after learning about it at a event held at Nihonbashi Takashimaya. This shop offers casual and modern Western and Japanese sweets that make use of carefully selected ingredients from Kyushu, including high-quality domestic white butter from "Kou-Nyu-Ya," a dairy manufacturer founded in Kumamoto in 1886. Their most popular item is the Black Bean Butter Sandwich (4 pieces for 1015 yen), which features a smooth cream made with plenty of domestic white butter and plumply cooked domestic Tanba black beans sandwiched together. It is a delicious product with a refreshing aftertaste and moderate sweetness. Thank you for the meal.

Salted butter dorayaki ¥200: The butter is the star in the center (laughs). It's delicious but maybe the butter is a bit too much. Mochi kinako cream puff ¥215: The chewy dough is delicious. Comes with black honey, making it even more like a traditional Japanese sweet. Mochi strawberry milk cream puff ¥250: Limited edition. The sweet and sourness of the strawberry goes well with the chewy dough! My favorite. Bonus Omi tea (10 tea bags): Refreshing green tea. The tea bags and box are cute, and they are supporting tea that is struggling due to the decrease in ceremonies. I appreciate it even more. I've been drinking tea a lot lately, but I'll drink even more now! Butter egg: With almond powder, it seems closer to a financier, but it has a strong buttery taste yet is not greasy, more like a firm-textured madeleine.

Today, I visited the Yurakucho and Hibiya area. While not as upscale as Ginza or near Tokyo Station, there are quite a few commercial facilities in Yurakucho. In Midtown, there is Lumine and Marui, and the smallest and most down-to-earth one is Itoshia. Inside Itoshia is "Kounyusha TOKYO," a brand established by a long-established dairy manufacturer founded in 1883, and this is the only shop of its kind in Japan. Naturally, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit! This shop specializes in butter made from domestically raised cows, known as "Domestic Pure White Butter." They sell "Western-style Japanese sweets" made with high-quality butter. It may seem contradictory, but as long as it tastes good, it's all good. The items displayed include cookies, butter sandwiches, and financiers. As for semi-sweets, there are dorayaki and cream puffs filled with buttercream. Here are the items I tried: Black Soybean Butter Sandwich - Soft black soybeans with a smooth special cream sandwiched between cookies. Comes in a pack of four. The slightly thick cookies are quite sweet with a crumbly texture. The cream is mellow, and the black soybeans are a decent size, soft and moist, and delicious. Salted Butter Dorayaki - A slightly salty butter and mildly sweet Hokkaido red bean paste harmony. The fluffy light dough with a strong butter filling. Adzuki Bean Pie - Pie wrapped around carefully cooked Hokkaido red beans. Also soft and moist, with a mildly sweet adzuki bean filling. Kounyusha Butter Sweet Potato - A creamy sweet potato paste with a baked sweet potato flavor. The skin is sweet potato-like, and the filling is golden and sticky. Butter and Egg Cake - A simple butter cake made with butter and eggs. Buttery and moist baked confection. Among the items purchased, this one may be the sweetest. The sales space is not very large, but the variety is quite rich. All the sweets have a strong buttery flavor and a consistent taste. Thank you for the meal!

Established in the 16th year of the Meiji era, the long-established dairy manufacturer Kounyusha. Last September, they opened a shop in Yurakucho Marui in Tokyo. I happened to be walking by in the evening and saw the last dorayaki available, so I bought it. I didn't know about the shop before, but as soon as I took a bite, I was captivated by the moist and delicious dough, the gentle red bean paste, and the addictive salted butter. This deliciousness makes me want to visit again! I highly recommend it to everyone!! I will definitely be back for more soon. Thank you for the meal.

I was intrigued by a poster and decided to check it out. The poster looked like it was cutting a butter cake, but it turned out the cake was actually made of butter. Well, I thought about buying butter to take home, but instead I bought a sweet treat made with butter, a dorayaki. The cake had a crispy and light texture, with a perfect balance of air bubbles for a great mouthfeel. Inside, there was red bean paste and chunky red bean. In the middle, there was a generous amount of butter in a medallion shape. Eating the butter on its own felt almost sinful. The combination of red bean paste and butter was simply perfect. The package recommended chilling the dorayaki in the fridge before eating, but I wonder what it would taste like lightly toasted. I'll have to try that next time I buy it.

【Date】Visited on a weekday at 1pm alone. Discovered it while wandering around Yurakucho after lunch and was craving something sweet. 【Reservation】No reservation. Purchased without waiting. 【Location】Directly connected to Yurakucho Station. The shop is located inside the ITOCiA on B1F. 【Interior】Takeout only. 【Order】 - Black Soybean Butter Sand, which is the No.1 popular item. It's lighter and easier to eat quickly compared to other butter sandwiches I've had. The texture of the black soybeans is moist and soft. The cookie itself is quite sweet, a bit too sweet for me personally. However, the cream is light, so overall balance is not an issue. Thank you for the meal! 【Service】Prompt and friendly service. 【Final Thoughts】Highly recommend the popular Black Soybean Butter Sand with crunchy black soybeans!

I bought the "Mochi Kinako Choux" as a souvenir and tea snack for my wife's family when visiting her hometown. It was a unique treat that we enjoyed right away. When we opened the package, we found small choux cream puffs that were actually more like mochi in texture. The filling was a mix of kinako powder, butter, cream, and syrup, rather than a traditional cream filling. The generous amount of kinako powder paired well with the black syrup, making it delicious. It turned out to be more of a Japanese confection rather than a Western pastry. I might try some other treats from this place next time! :)

A Western and Japanese sweets shop opened in the underground shopping area in front of Yurakucho Station. They offer unique items like soy milk raisin sandwiches and black bean butter sandwiches, but they only come in packs with too many pieces, so I decided not to buy them. Instead, I purchased a pack of Butter no Tamago (3 pieces) for 702 yen including tax, which is cashless payment available. The expiration date is over 3 months, so I first offered it to the Buddhist altar, and then enjoyed the rest immediately. This treat, resembling a Financier, is made with pure white butter from a long-established dairy product manufacturer founded in Meiji 16, and it has a gentle, nostalgic flavor.

I was looking for sweets for gifts and found this. They recommended it as a must-buy, so I bought some for gifts and for myself. But I also wanted to buy dorayaki, so I'll get some next time, butter dorayaki.

I visited the shop before 6:00 pm on a holiday evening. The shop was not crowded so I could leisurely choose my items. They offer a variety of wagashi and baked goods, with no eat-in option. This time, I bought a salted butter dorayaki and a chewy kinako cream puff. The most popular item is a cookie sandwich with black beans. The salted butter dorayaki had a subtle saltiness and an elegant taste. Personally, I really enjoyed the kinako cream puff. The chewy pastry paired perfectly with the slightly crunchy kinako cream. The kinako had a lovely aroma and I devoured it in no time! Thank you for the delicious treats!
