The skewers were delicious, especially with the homemade sauce that has been passed down since the establishment of the restaurant. The meat on the skewers was big and satisfying to eat, and all three skewers were tasty. The heart sashimi had a rare steak-like impression, with a chewy texture and a strong flavor of heart, complemented well by the condiments. The tongue with green onions was a bit disappointing, with a rubbery texture and a strong spiciness in the onions. The fried chicken was juicy and flavorful, perfect for pairing with drinks. The pork kimchi had a slight lack of integration between the pork and kimchi flavors, but it was still a welcome addition to the limited vegetable menu. The prices were reasonable, and the food was delicious, so I would definitely want to come back. There are four locations in Shinbashi, and while the main store is the busiest, there's no real reason to specifically go to the crowded main store.

As the name suggests, this is a bar located under the train tracks in Shinbashi. The beef tongue sashimi in the first photo was delicious. The simmered tripe was also flavorful. The fried chicken was said to have won a gold award, but it was just okay. Overall, it's a cheap place with a good variety of dishes and great value for money.

I saw Premium Hoppy for the first time. It has a deep flavor. I think the key point here is that Hoppy is known for its drinkability, which is important. While Black Hoppy embodies "intensity," I can see what is meant by "depth." It was delicious. This is a good product. I think it will be interesting to observe which shochu it pairs well with. It seemed like a popular restaurant, but we were able to get a table quickly since it was past 9 pm. We ordered a mixed skewer platter with sauce, and the skewers were big with a flavorful sauce that paired well with beer! The liver skewer was particularly delicious, not dry at all, so we ended up ordering another one. They also had a wide variety of side dishes, and my favorite was the fluffy and gently seasoned leek and egg dish. And the cost performance was impressive, with a full meal and drinks costing around 3000 yen per person... Thank you for the delicious meal!

In early June 2023, on my way home after having a daytime drink, I happened to pass by a newly opened restaurant where people were lining up and being drawn inside. I got sucked in too. I sat at the counter and ordered a draft beer, yakiton (grilled pork skewers), and potato salad. I ordered the grilled pork with sauce for the cheek meat, and with salt for the heart and tongue. There were no appetizers, so I snacked on the potato salad while waiting for the grilled pork. The pieces of meat were large and satisfying to eat. The sauce brought out the umami flavor of the meat more directly than the salt, so I recommend ordering it with sauce. I had a lemon sour for my second drink and the total bill came to just over 2000 yen.

I went to the restaurant without making a reservation because it showed "×" for 1 person reservation, but luckily I was able to get a table. It was surprisingly crowded even though it wasn't a Friday night. I tried ordering liver, which I usually don't like, and it was really delicious. The staff recommended the sauce. They don't serve appetizers, so if you're dining alone, make sure to order at least one dish, as per their policy.

(Shimbashi dinner day 3/4) The second stop, "Tempura Sakaba Ue Ru Shoten," had a time limit, so we hurriedly left the restaurant. Considering revisiting "Makochan," which left a great impression last time, we found the main store to be fully packed. So, we decided to revisit the store under the guard where there were more seats, and luckily, there was an available table! Today is warm, so the terrace seating is pleasant. We looked at the menu and ordered the following: [Menu] - Hoppy Set 610 yen - Hoppy Naka 290 yen x 2 - Oolong Highball 390 yen x 2 - Shiro (Salt) 145 yen - Liver (Salt) 145 yen - Shiro (Sauce) 145 yen - Liver (Sauce) 145 yen - Tangy Marinated Tongue 395 yen - Cucumber Tataki 340 yen (sesame salt garlic) - Nira Tamago (leek and egg) 465 yen - Heart (Salt) 145 yen Feeling finally settled, we relaxed and enjoyed our drinks. Here, I had Hoppy Black, and my colleague had Oolong Highball for a toast. [Shiro, Liver (Salt, Sauce)] We tried Shiro and Liver with both salt and sauce this time. The Liver was not as thick as last time, which was a bit disappointing. When eaten with salt, the Liver had a hint of sweetness. The Shiro, on the other hand, remained consistent with our previous visit, with a fatty, tender texture. [Tangy Marinated Tongue] This dish caught our attention last time, so we decided to try it this time. It's a clever reuse of leftover tongue from boiling, marinated in a sweet sauce. It was quite different from what we expected, but still delicious. [Cucumber Tataki (sesame salt garlic)] The cucumber, with its refreshing taste, paired well with the salt, sesame oil, and garlic seasoning. It was a delightful dish. [Nira Tamago (leek and egg)] A small but plump egg dish with a flavorful seasoning of salt and dashi. The sauce added a nice touch to the already tasty egg. [Heart (Salt)] I don't remember ordering this, but my colleague must have. It was a tender heart. [Top Recommendation] - Shiro! The Teppo skewer, still my favorite! A recent obsession. From Mairebi-san... a killer pass-like!? recommendation of this shop's main store through LINE (lol). After eating ramen in Shinbashi, I passed by the shop and it was packed on a weekday evening. I planned to go there on a Friday, wondering if I would be able to get a seat! I asked a female staff member at the storefront if it was possible to make a reservation, and she said they don't take reservations, but reservations are possible at affiliated stores. I decided to make a reservation at this shop for the upcoming day, but then a colleague suggested going to a different place if it was too difficult! So, I had to give up (lol). But then, a work friend invited me for drinks, so I made a reservation at this shop and decided to go on a weekday evening. The shop is located about 2 minutes south from Shinbashi Station Uchimori Exit, under the newly renovated arch. When I arrived at the shop, there were already tables set up outside and it was fully packed inside! I mentioned my reservation and was guided to a table at the back of the shop. We started with drinks, each ordering our favorite alcohol and then made a toast! For snacks, we ordered the shop's specialty yakiton assortment of 5 skewers, and also added simmered tripe with tofu and leaf wasabi seaweed cheese. The simmered tripe with tofu was soft and flavorful, with no unpleasant smell, and the tofu soaked up the flavors nicely. The leaf wasabi seaweed cheese was a perfect match for beer. A bit later, the yakiton arrived with 5 types - white, liver, tongue, heart, and skirt meat, all tasting fresh and delicious. With good snacks, the drinks went down smoothly, leading to more rounds of beer and additional orders of boiled tongue. After about an hour and a half of drinking, we headed to the next shop!

I ran to this place after work because I was craving their Hatsu sashimi. It's quite popular and often sells out, so it's lucky if they still have it. Their simmered pig's feet and Gatsu sashimi are also delicious and highly recommended. The skewers are also tasty because, after all, it's a yakiton place. Surprisingly, the area under the overpass is clean and not crowded, so I don't want to give away this hidden gem.

A few days ago, a very big hole opened up in my heart that I can't tell anyone about, and I'm feeling heartbroken for the first time in years... So today, I just really want to drink! Solo drinking, can it fill the hole in my heart...? I head to Shinbashi Station from a bus stop near my workplace. After searching on Tabelog, I decide to visit "Komachan Guard Shitake Bar" today. I arrive at 18:15. The bright and spacious interior is about 80% full of customers. I'm seated at the end of the L-shaped counter surrounding the kitchen, and I take a deep breath. Soon after, the place becomes almost full! It's a great place where you can enjoy the sound and vibration of trains passing by as background music. I look at the menu and order the following items: [Menu for Today] - Hoppy (without ice) 320 yen - Naka (middle) 290 yen x 4 - Tofu only 340 yen - Nankotsu (cartilage) 145 yen - Liver 145 yen - Small intestine 145 yen - Edamame (green soybeans) 310 yen - Leaf Wasabi Nori Cheese 435 yen Today, I'm in the mood for Hoppy Black for various reasons. I save on ice and go for a strong shochu. Cheers to solo drinking! [Tofu Only] Tofu simmered in motsu (offal) stew broth is so moist that it feels like eating motsu stew. I love this way of serving tofu, as I usually eat motsu on skewers. [Yakiton] <Nankotsu> The pork cartilage is not tough but rather soft, making it a bit tiring to chew. However, this chewy texture of cartilage is new to me. It's delicious, but personally, I find the tougher ones easier to eat! The last piece is slightly firmer, making it easier to chew and eat! <Liver> The liver is cut extremely thick, with a rare center! It has a crunchy texture and a nice aroma. It's like eating liver sashimi! This way of grilling liver is delicious!! <Small Intestine> A classic motsu (offal) skewer! The plump meat and firm texture of the intestines are skewered half and half. The aroma of motsu is good, and it's a delicious skewer. The sauce that has been added over the years has a good balance of sweetness and soy sauce flavor, making it delicious♪ [Edamame] Thawed in running water, these frozen edamame have a good firm texture and a slight edamame aroma. [Leaf Wasabi Nori Cheese] A menu item I chose on a whim since the one I wanted wasn't available. Seasoned seaweed, cream cheese, and stem wasabi pickled in soy sauce are combined. The seasoned seaweed stands out the most, followed by the wasabi, with the cream cheese acting as a mediator. Near Shinbashi Station, there is a restaurant that is empty early in the evening but quickly fills up after 5 pm. The place is always bustling with customers. Their signature drink is a lemon sour with a lot of lemon slices, so you can keep getting refills of just the lemon. I ordered a set of 7 skewers with sauce, usually I prefer salt but this time I went for all sauce. The skewers were delicious, but the pieces were quite big so I had to leave some. The potato salad was also good, very generous portion. Shinbashi Station area is definitely not to be underestimated. Will come back again!

Today, I had a regular dinner gathering with my former college juniors at a restaurant called Makochan. We first headed to the main branch but it was already full. The atmosphere inside was very lively. Since they have multiple branches, we went to the one under the overpass. We had to wait for about 15 minutes there as well. The place was bustling with people even though it was only 5 pm. The staff were energetic and likable. The menu was extensive with a variety of dishes to enjoy. The yakitori was especially delicious. They also had a wide selection of drinks. I think it would be cool to visit a place like this alone with a book in hand, enjoying a good drink. Overall, it's a recommended restaurant with good value for money!

The best recommendation is the fried chicken, which has even won a gold award. It is refreshing, easy to eat, juicy, and very delicious. Today, I visited "Makocchan" for the first time. I arrived around 6:30 PM and the restaurant was full. I'm glad I made a reservation. I ordered kobukuro sashimi, heart sashimi, fried dumplings, and a skewer assortment with sauce and salt. I also enjoyed about 5 beers and shochu highballs. The crunchy texture of the kobukuro was delicious. The grilled pork such as kashira and guts were also tasty. One of the members I went with didn't like grilled pork, which was a shame, but I enjoyed it. I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

Unlike the main store, the interior here is quite clean and there is plenty of space at the table seats, which is nice! I ordered the simmered large intestine, tongue, liver, cartilage, and garlic chive with egg. They were all delicious. The fresh garlic chive with egg was fresh and the grilled cartilage was large and tasty. The glass mug that came with the order of chu-hai was also cute. Thank you for the meal!

Today, I met up with my wife at Makochan in Shinbashi. It used to be always full when I was a salaryman, and it was hard to get a seat. But recently, due to the effects of the coronavirus, it's been relatively empty, which is really helpful. Among the several branches, I particularly like the under-the-bridge bar branch. I enjoy delicious hormone skewers with a glass of Hoppy. The fried chicken and leek omelette are also very tasty. Before I knew it, I had ordered three more glasses and I was feeling great. It's a place I want to support no matter what.

After finishing my last job of the year, I decided to have a drink in Shinbashi (^^)/ When I went to Makochan Honten, it was full, so the staff guided me to this place under the bridge. The area in front of the store is spacious and has a nice atmosphere. The "Motsu Nikomi" is light in flavor but satisfying because the ingredients are delicious! Delicious! The "Butcher's Ham Cutlet" has tasty meat and a crispy coating, consistently delicious (^ ^) ♪ The mustard and sauce go perfectly with it! The "Award-winning Karaage" has a thin and crispy coating with juicy and delicious meat! This is really good (^^)/ The "Yakiton Assortment of 7 skewers" - personally, I recommend the Harami, Hatsu, and Tan! The seasoning is not as strong as it looks, so it's refreshing to eat! I like it when the seasoning is stronger for the offal because the flavor expands with each bite! The seasoning here is lighter compared to the main store, but it's still delicious! Overall, the taste and atmosphere are great! The fried foods are delicious! The customer service is friendly! A great restaurant that has established itself in the Shinbashi area with about 4 stores! This is the liveliness of Shinbashi!! ~Makochan~ @ Shinbashi It's nice to see people returning to the streets. The bustling atmosphere of December. There are still lingering concerns, but I hope this liveliness continues. The other day, I visited Makochan in Shinbashi, a yakiton (grilled pork) restaurant located under the railway tracks. The restaurant was very lively, with reserved seats available, but we opted for outdoor seating despite the cold. When Makochan is bustling, it feels like people are returning to Shinbashi. The SL (steam locomotive) at the SL Square was sparkling, which was delightful. This nostalgic beer mug is so endearing with the pig design. To warm up, we started with the simmered motsu (offal). Makochan's motsu simmer is truly delicious!! The large pieces of leeks and chicken in it were a pleasant surprise. The special lemon sour with frozen lemon that can be refilled was refreshing. The shiro (pork intestines) and liver are a must-order. Makochan's motsu dishes are truly the best! It can be considered a top-notch motsu-yaki (grilled offal) restaurant! The pickled eggplant was a nice addition. This year, many companies seem to be refraining from large year-end parties among employees, so group drinking parties are still limited. I also have a long-awaited alumni reunion that hasn't been planned yet. I wonder when it will happen. We're all getting older (laughs). I hope we can all meet next year. This time, it was a night in Shinbashi that made me happy to see the lively atmosphere.

I heard there was cheap and delicious yakitori, so I visited the second place. I wasn't expecting much since I'm not very familiar with yakitori. I thought it would be good as a snack. When I arrived, I thought, "Oh, this is delicious." The size of each piece was big, and it had a chewy yet soft texture. Perhaps they have been sticking to their traditions since their establishment in 1968. Other dishes I tried were average, but the yakitori was delicious. The restaurant itself has recently been renovated, so the interior is also clean.
